ID Lubricants is a brand best known for its water-based lubricant ID Glide. Appropriately, as their best-selling lubricant, the ID Glide water-based lubricant ended up being the “Test Winner” of this entire article. However, like other brands, ID Lubricants has a lot more to offer than simple water-based lubes. With silicone-based, hybrids, flavored lubes, and more to choose from, you’ll definitely have plenty of great products to choose from. Keep reading if you want to learn which ones are best, why you should try them, and where you should shop to get the best deals!

How I Compared These ID Lubes

Although ID Lubricants is best known for ID Glide, in truth, they offer many different products worth considering. To avoid bias for other brands, I’ve compared the ID products directly against each other using a set list of standardized metrics.

Factors like value for money, bottle sizes offered, and the quality of lube itself were all things I took into consideration. When possible, I tried to rely on customer feedback as my main source of data, although I did also get some information from the manufacturer as well.

There are many different types of lube, and not every bottle will be perfect for every situation. If you want to find the one(s) that’s perfect for your specific needs, I recommend reading all the way through to learn about each option!

How I Compared These ID Lubes

Different Types of Lubes – Which One You Should Try

Most lubricant brands offer more than one type of lube. ID Glide offers water-based, silicone, and hybrid lubes. Interestingly though, they don’t offer oil-based ones!

Water-based lube is arguably the most common, and for good reason. It’s great for vaginal sex, anal sex, and is compatible with any & all materials.

However, silicone lubes are also a beloved option. Although they can’t be used with silicone sex toys, these lubes generally offer a longer-lasting lubrication than their water-based counterparts. They are usually harder to clean up, but their tendency for long-term lubrication makes them excellent for anal play.

Lastly, ID also offers a hybrid lubricant. ID Silk is water-based but is mixed with a silicone lubricant for added smoothness. This blend ends up being non-staining but still gives you enough silicone to use this lube for massage!

Conclusion

I chose this ID Glide product as the “Test Winner” for its overall versatility. Being water-based, it can be used safely with any type of sex toy, won’t damage latex condoms, and is both anal & vaginal-safe.

That said, there are downsides to this lube. Being water-based, it won’t work well for massage. This particular lube has been formulated to last longer, which means you should need less lube than similar products from other brands.

However, to achieve this longer-lasting formula, the company has added parabens in to the lube. This isn’t ideal. The lube is also somewhat pricey for a bottle, although the price per ounce is quite low.

Despite these few downsides, I think that the ID Glide Water-based Lubricant is a great offering overall. Formulated to last longer and extremely slippery, this lube has received almost all positive reviews. As long as the addition of parabens doesn’t bother you, I’d recommend picking a bottle of this up for yourself!

Next on my list of products is the ID Xtreme H2O Thick Water-Based Lubricant!

Like ID Glide, this lube is also water-based, and—thanks to a thicker formula—it’s ideal for friction-free anal play.

The lube is paraben-free, condom/toy safe, and vegan-friendly, making it a great option for anyone who needs long-lasting backdoor lubrication.

Of course, this lube isn’t limited just to anal play: you can also use it for vaginal penetration or even with toys!

If you tend to find most water-based lubes too thin but don’t want to lose out on the benefits of water-based lubes then this lube is the perfect option for you!

Conclusion

As mentioned above, this lube is extra thick, which is why I chose it as my “Anal” pick. The thicker formula, combined with the superior lubrication power, makes the ID Xtreme H2O a great option for anal play.

Being water-based, this opens up options for both penetrative and toy-based play! Unlike the previous lube, this one doesn’t contain parabens, which is a definite plus from a health-based perspective.

Customer feedback has been almost exclusively positive, with only a few notable exceptions. One couple reported a burning sensation, and another noted that the lube didn’t last as long as they’d expected it to.

These experiences seem to be uncommon, but I figured I’d include them anyway. Still, aside from these few oddities, there’s nothing bad to report about this lube!

Whether you love anal play or simply want to go with a thicker lube, I think the ID Xtreme H2O is a good option.

Let’s step away from the water-based lubes like the ID Glide for a second. Instead, let’s take a look at the ID Millennium Silicone Lubricant!

Perfect for penetration, massages, and play with non-silicone sex toys, this premium lube is completely waterproof and formulated to last.

Contained within a sleek-looking black and green bottle, you’ll only need a few drops of this lube for maximum lubrication.

You can even use this product to shine your favorite latex outfits!

If you’re looking for a high-quality silicone-based lube—complete with a silky-soft texture—then the ID Millennium Silicone Lubricant is worth testing out!

Conclusion

Being made of silicone, the ID Millennium Silicone Lubricant was the obvious choice for the “Silicone” category. Seeing as ID Glide & most other ID products are water-based, this lube is a nice change of pace.

Of course, the usual restriction of silicone—which you’ll also find with other brands—applies here. You can’t use this lube with silicone! This is unfortunate, but I think you’ll find that the experience it provides is worth the trade-off.

This lube has a lot to offer, from its silky smooth texture and long-lasting formula to its vegetarian-safe blend and condom-safe ingredients. Really, the only major downside of this lube is the pricing.

Offered in sizes from 1 to 8.5 ounces, the ID Millennium Silicone Lubricant is pretty pricey at any size. As such, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone on a tight budget, even though it lasts quite a while.

However, if you don’t mind spending a bit extra for a premium product and want to try out some high-quality silicone lube then I’d say the ID Millennium Silicone Lubricant is worth picking up!

Love the slickness of ID Glide but wish you could add some temperature changes into the mix? Well, you can with the ID Sensation Warming Liquid Lubricant!

Although it claims to be unscented, this lube actually has a slight cinnamon smell to it, which is sure to enhance the experience.

As the lube warms up upon contact, you’ll quickly notice the warmth begin to kick in after applying the lube to yourself (or a toy or partner).

Strong enough to bring warmth but not so much as to become overbearing, this lubricant is a great option if you want to add a sense of warmth to your sexy time.

Want something new for sensation play with a partner? Then this tingling lube might be worth checking out!

This lube was the obvious choice for the “Warming” category. Similar to ID Glide, the ID Sensation Warming Liquid Lubricant is water-based, meaning it can be safely used with all sex toys and latex condoms.

The formula itself is non-staining, which means you won’t need to worry about messing up the bedsheets either. However, the main feature of the lube—Warming—is what might cause some issues.

The warming effect works very well. Perhaps, too well! If you don’t use enough lube to feel the warmth, it can be tempting to start piling on more.

Unfortunately, it’s very easy to overdo it with this lube, which will likely hurt and kill the mood. As such, this is a lube that will require a bit of experimentation to get right.

All in all, this lube works as advertised. However, I would only recommend it to those willing to experiment with the amounts, as getting the hang of this lube can take some practice.

Conclusion

My “Tingling” pick offers the best of both worlds: chilling and warming effects, with a tingling sensation throughout.

Being water-based, it can be safely used with pretty much any sex toy or accessory, and this specific lube is formulated to prevent stains from accidental spills.

Unlike some other lubes, this lube isn’t quite as strong, which means you won’t need to worry about painful repercussions from accidental overapplication. This is great, as no one likes feeling as if they’re taking a risk by using more lube!

The formula lasts for a while, although it still won’t compare to the longevity of silicone lube. Also, it’s not waterproof, which means any aquatic sexual adventures are out of the question.

Still, I think the pros outweigh the cons overall. If you’re looking for—as one customer put it—the sensation of having your partner ”eating a menthol drop while giving you a blow job” then this is the lube for you!

The bottles themselves are 0.4 fl. oz, making them the perfect size for testing and travel purposes.

If you’re curious to test out the various lubes for yourself but can’t justify buying big bottles of each then the ID Lubricants Assorted Travel Pack is great.

Making it easy to try five different lubes for the price of one bottle, this pack is definitely an excellent option for experimenting and enjoying!

Conclusion

As my “Pack” pick, the advantage of this set is obvious: you get multiple types of lubricant to enjoy and experiment with!

Each pack comes with five 0.4 fl. oz bottles of lube, which should be enough to decide if you like that particular type of lube or not.

That said, these lubes aren’t really big enough for multiple uses. It would’ve been nice to have two tubes in each set, rather than a single set of each type.

It’s also worth mentioning that—although there is a set list of lubes that might be included—there’s no way to tell which lubes you’ll get after ordering this pack. If you want a specific type of lube, ordering that one alone would be a better option.

All things considered, most people will probably enjoy this tiny set. While you might not know which ones you’ll receive, the surprise is half the fun. Regardless, you’ll have multiple types of lube to enjoy, which should help you find a favorite moving forward!

How to Use ID Glide Products

If you’ve ever used lube from other brands then you’re probably familiar with the process. However, if this is your first time using ID Glide—or one of their other products—then keep reading!

How to Use ID Glide Products

Check Compatibility

Check Compatibility

It’s always important to make sure that everything you’re using—both condoms and sex toys—is compatible with your choice of lube. Water-based lubricants can be used with anything, but you should double-check for silicone and hybrid lubes.

How to Use ID Glide Products

Apply the Lube

Apply the Lube

Once you’ve confirmed compatibility, get yourself, your toys, and your accessories ready. You’ll want to apply lube both to yourself and to your toys. Spreading the lube around with a finger is a good idea, as this helps ensure everything is sufficiently coated.

How to Use ID Glide Products

Add More as Needed

Add More as Needed

All lubes dry out over time, but this is especially common with water-based lubes. Make sure to keep the bottle on hand so you can add more as needed. From there, simply enjoy!

How to Clean ID Glide Products

Cleaning ID Lubricants products won’t be very hard, but there are a few different approaches you may need to take. To clean it from toys, just clean your toys like normal. To clean it from clothing or sheets, the best method will depend on the type of lube you’re using. Water-based lubes can be cleaned via a quick trip to the washer. However, for hybrid and silicone-based lubes, it’s a good idea to try and clean any spilled lube with dish soap or degreaser before putting it in the wash. This will give you the best chance at avoiding permanent stains!

Porous
materials

Soft plastic, hard plastic, jelly, rubber, Cyberskin are all porous materials, meaning that small particles and bacteria can penetrate the surface. This makes it impossible to completely clean these types of materials.

Therefore, it is recommended that you use a condom with these types of toys, especially if you are sharing them. Clean these toys with mild soapy water and dry gently with a towel. These materials are more easily damaged, so be sure to be gentle and make sure your toys are completely dry before storing.

Non-propous
materials

Silicone, glass, stainless steel and some hard plastics can all be washed using a mild soap (like you would use on your body) and warm water. Just be careful if your toy contains electrical parts.

Silicone and stainless steel toys without any electrical parts can also be boiled for sterilisation.

The toys with electrical
components

If your toys contain electrical components, be extra careful when cleaning them and always check the instructions provided with the toy. You can use a gentle cloth and soap to wipe or sex toy cleaner or cleaning wipe to down your toy, making sure that no water comes into contact with the electrical parts.
