The Testing Process
When possible, we always try to test sex toys firsthand (if we’ve tested a toy, you’ll be able to read about our experience by clicking on the “Read full review” link!). However, we’re not always able to get our hands on each and every toy around, and that’s where our research process begins. Comparing manufacturer’s specifications and claims to actual customer experiences and feedback, we’re able to get a good idea of a particular product’s strengths, weaknesses, and quirks. Once we’ve completed our testing & applicable research, we then rate the products on their design, ease of use, and quality before writing our final review!

What is Jelly?
“Jelly” is a non-exclusive term that can actually cover a few different materials including silicone, TPR/TPE (soft plastic), PVC, and jelly rubber. Silicone is a body-safe material used in everything from the best sex dolls to the softest vibrator. It’s non-porous, which means it’s easy to clean and can be completely sterilized between uses. TPR, TPE, and PVC are non-body-safe materials, at least in the sense that they can’t be sterilized. Does that mean you shouldn’t use them? Not necessarily, but you’d be much better off using a non-porous toy than a porous toy full of tiny holes for bacteria to hide in! Traditional jelly rubber is not body safe, as it is both porous and toxic, so we would recommend going for a soft silicone option. At a bare minimum, avoid any materials that are not labeled as “phthalate-free.”
Are Jelly Dildos Worth It?
Dildo safety isn’t something that really comes up too often, but it’s still a topic worth talking about. Are jelly dildos worth it? Well, that depends on what your definition of “jelly” is. If you’re talking about the cheap, see-through dildos made from TPE, PVC, and other porous materials, then no, jelly dildos aren’t worth it. Unfortunately, even if a product is labeled “phthalate-free”, there isn’t any way to guarantee this claim since the sex toy industry is an unregulated industry. Phthalates have been linked to a variety of long-term health complications (such as kidney & liver damage), making it a good idea to avoid them at all costs. Add in the lack of sanitization options and you quickly see why non-porous, high-quality silicone dildos are the way to go! On the plus side, you can get that same soft feeling with body safe silicone!

Want a flexi dildo, a suction cup jelly dildo, and a dual density design all wrapped up into a single toy? If so, then this Neo Elite dildo is just what you’ve been dreaming of! The dual density of the SENSA FEEL material gives the toy a soft outer texture while maintaining a certain stiffness in the center, much like a real penis. The outer layer is also clear, while the inner layer provides a “glow” when the lights are turned off! The suction cup base means you can easily mount this dildo to a surface of your choice, but it is harness compatible for a bit of partner play as well.
Pros
- ✅ Dual density construction
- ✅ Glow-in-the-dark design
- ✅ 7” of insertable length
- ✅ Suction cup base
Cons
- ❌ Not compatible with silicone lube
- ❌ Must leave in sun for “glow” effect
- ❌ Doesn’t include a harness
My verdict
There aren’t many weak points to speak of when it comes to this dildo. You can use it as a standalone toy, a suction-mounted dildo, a jelly strap on dildo, or even just as a phallic-shaped night light—the options seem endless! The dual density construction means this toy will feel much more like the real thing than the competition, but if you’re the type of girl who prefers a firm toy all around then this might be something you could nitpick. Still, for less than $35, you get a multi-purpose dildo that’s body-safe, waterproof, and approved for anal use. If you want to get a new dildo but aren’t really sure what you’re looking for, save yourself the trouble of shopping around & just pick this toy up instead!
You should buy the Neo Elite Glow-In-The-Dark Dual Density Dildo if you...

You should not buy the Neo Elite Glow-In-The-Dark Dual Density Dildo if you...

Sometimes, simple is sufficient. That’s the case when it comes to this beginner-friendly squishy dildo! Although it’s marketed specifically for anal sex, you can also enjoy this toy in your vagina as well, with six inches of purple pleasure to penetrate yourself with. The dildo itself is very soft & flexible, which means insertion is always a pleasure & pain-free process. If using this toy in the bedroom becomes boring, take it into the bathroom instead for some slippery sexy adventures! The BASICS Slimline pink jelly dildo has a suction cup base which allows it to mount onto smooth surfaces or fit into a harness for pegging partner play.
Pros
- ✅ Easy to insert
- ✅ Sized for beginners
- ✅ 6” of insertable length
- ✅ Designed for anal penetration
Cons
- ❌ Suction cup works poorly
- ❌ Flops around during insertion
- ❌ Straight shaft design
My verdict
This floppy dildo is a good beginner toy. While the soft material means that the product feels very comfortable when inside of you, it does make inserting the toy a bit more challenging since the toy is so flexible it can try to flop away from you! Still, with the right amount of lube, you shouldn’t have any trouble getting this dildo inside of you, and it surely won’t disappoint once it reaches its intended destination! With six inches of insertable length, this toy is big enough to provide sufficient stimulation but small enough to avoid intimidating newcomers, making it an ideal first-time toy for anal newbies or those new to masturbation in general! It might not be the most high-end dildo around, but for less than $20, we can’t really complain!
You should buy the BASICS Slimline Anal Starter Dildo if you...
- Want to try butt play
- Are looking for your first dildo
- Need a “warm-up” toy
You should not buy the BASICS Slimline Anal Starter Dildo if you...
- Want the best vaginal stimulation
- Prefer realistic-looking toys
- Don’t do anal

This soft jelly dildo may look unimpressive at first glance, but don’t let its lackluster looks discourage you. Despite having a soft exterior, this little dildo actually has a firm and poseable interior that can be perfectly bent/shaped for maximum stimulation! What it lacks in size this dildo makes up for in precision since its tapered tip & poseable design make it perfect for honing in on your g-spot or p-spot for mind-blowing orgasms on-demand. You can also use it with a partner by placing the dildo in a harness for some pegging adventures!
Pros
- ✅ Poseable
- ✅ Harness-compatible
- ✅ Tapered tip
Cons
- ❌ 4.5” of insertable length
- ❌ A bit pricey
- ❌ Better suited for anal than vaginal
My verdict
It might not be the big jelly dildo many ladies find themselves lusting after, but nonetheless, this dildo is still a great one to add to your collection! Its poseable silicone design makes it ideal for targeted g/p-spot stimulation, which is important since its small size severely limits its purely penetrative pleasure potential. Being so small, it works excellent as an introduction to anal since it can be easily inserted/removed without too much fuss, and even has a tapered tip to aid with the insertion process! Most people will probably want a larger toy when pegging their partner, but if your partner has never been pegged before, then this toy could be perfect for that situation as well because of its small stature.
You should buy the Fun Factory Limba Flex Posable Silicone Dildo if you...
- Need a dildo for pegging
- Love anal play
- Want to target your g/p-spot
You should not buy the Fun Factory Limba Flex Posable Silicone Dildo if you...
- Are a size queen/king
- Already own larger toys
- Won’t use the dildo for anal play
Double Art Deco AC/DC Double Dildo

“Normal” dildos just not doing it for you anymore? If that’s the case, why not try this double ended jelly dildo from CalExotics!? Self-described as “firm yet flexible”, this dildo has two different sized heads that can be inserted individually or used to double-penetrate for maximum pleasure! This toy is perfect for getting naughty while you’re alone, but if you pull your partner close then you can each ride an end to share in the fun! Made of high-quality PVC material, you can use either water-based or silicone lube for your next exciting session using this DP powerhouse dildo.
Pros
- ✅ Compatible with water & silicone-based lubes
- ✅ Different sized heads
- ✅ 6” total length
- ✅ Great price
Cons
- ❌ Made of PVC
- ❌ 4” of insertable length
- ❌ A bit small for partner play
My verdict
You can definitely use this double-ended dildo with a partner, but its relatively small size might make that a challenge. The dildo is only six inches long and—although bendable—isn’t capable of straightening out easily, meaning you & your partner will need to stay close to share in this experience. For some, this might be a dealbreaker. For others, it will just make the moment even more special: there’s only one way to find out! As a solo toy, this dildo is great, offering two different-sized heads, a curved design perfect for DP, and is easy to clean after use. Normally, we wouldn’t suggest a toy like this for most people, but if you’ve already graduated from your first dildo and want something exciting, you can’t go wrong with this DP dildo!
You should buy the Art Deco AC/DC Double Dildo if you...
- Love DP
- Want a toy you can use with a partner
- Enjoy insertion options
You should not buy the Art Deco AC/DC Double Dildo if you...
- Aren’t interested in DP
- Won’t use this toy with a partner
- Prefer traditional dildos
Dual Density Tantus Cush - Dual Density Dildo

If you are looking for an extra squishy dildo with a beautiful design, the Tantus Cush is a great candidate! This stunning toy is a top-notch dual-density dildo; with a solid pink core wrapped in soft white silicone, which feels very soft and flexible and looks amazing! The deep ridge and pronounced “glans” add some extra zing, targeting the G-spot and A-spot. Plus, it’s suitable for anal play and fits in a strap-on harness. Easy to clean and safe for the body, what’s not to love about it?
Pros
- ✅ Beautiful gradient design
- ✅ Dual density design
- ✅ Made with premium quality materials
- ✅ Easy to clean
- ✅ Harness compatible
Cons
- ❌ Quite expensive
- ❌ Only 5.25 inches of insertable length
- ❌ No suction cup base
- ❌ Pronounced ridge can cause some friction
My verdict
The Tantus Cush is more than just an adorable dildo. The dual-density core makes the experience very realistic and super pleasurable. It’s soft, squishy, and flexible, a perfect dildo for anyone, and versatile! It’s anal-safe, and thanks to the flared base, you can wear it with a harness for some pegging action. Regarding the size, it’s not a long jelly dildo, but it’s not short either: with 6.25” of insertable length, it’s pretty average compared to most American men. It may not have a suction cup base, na the price might be too high for some, but our tester loved this pink dildo, so I highly recommend it!
You should buy the Tantus Cush - Dual Density Dildo if you...
- want a soft and squishy dildo
- love the pink design
- want a dildo that is suitable for different levels of experience
- want a dildo that is safe for anal play
- need a dildo that is harness compatible
You should not buy the Tantus Cush - Dual Density Dildo if you...
- prefer a cheaper dildo

“Results over realism” seems to be the motto of this Star Lust dildo from Lovehoney! At first glance, this dildo looks more like a weird space-themed night light than a high-quality sex toy, but nonetheless, this toy is beloved by people around the globe! At eight inches long (7” insertable length) with a maximum width of 1.59 inches, this dildo is big enough to provide even experienced users with hours of pleasure but small enough to avoid discouraging first-timers from giving it a try. No matter what hole you decide to use it in, this dildo is sure to help you blast off!
Pros
- ✅ Slight curved design
- ✅ Flexible material
- ✅ 7” of insertable length
- ✅ Suction-cup feature
Cons
- ❌ Base can be challenging to grip during use
- ❌ A bit thin for more experienced users
- ❌ Uses a pull tab for suction cup removal
My verdict
We think this toy is the perfect size for most users, but people who enjoy larger insertables may be left wishing for a bit more. Also, people who prefer super firm dildos will probably want to avoid this toy. However, if you’re not someone who needs a rock-hard, mile-long dildo then the Lovehoney Star Lust dildo will most likely check off all the boxes for you! The suction cup base means you can use this toy pretty much anywhere, and the removal tab means you can easily take down the dildo from the shower wall (even if your hands happen to be covered in lube!). You can also use the dildo with a partner in a harness, although we think this toy really shines in solo use. Still, it’s a great purchase regardless of how you plan on using it!
You should buy the Lovehoney Heart Pounder Silicone Dildo if you...
- Are looking for your first dildo
- Want something basic
- Need a flexible toy

Vibrating Tantus The Duchess - Dual Density O2 Vibrating Dildo

Do you want a vibrating jelly dildo? How about a super-squishy and extra-soft silicone dildo with a removable powerful bullet vibrator inside? If that sounds like something you might enjoy, look at The Duchess by Tantus. With its stunning gradient design and extra soft outer layer, this dildo will please all jelly-dildo lovers! What makes this design special is the bigger, super-squishy head meant for deep G-spot or prostate massage. It also has a flared base, which means it’s anal-safe and can be used with a harness!
Pros
- ✅ Comes with a bullet vibrator
- ✅ Made with premium silicone
- ✅ Unique design
- ✅ Super soft and squishy
- ✅ Pronounced head for deeper internal stimulation
Cons
- ❌ Battery-operated bullet vibrator
- ❌ Not very powerful vibrations
- ❌ The head might be too big for beginners
Vibrations: The vibrations of the Tantus The Duchess - Dual Density O2 Vibrating Dildo are quiet, quite powerful, and somewhat buzzy
My verdict
The Duchess by Tantus is a luxurious vibrating dildo with an elegant Rose Quartz design and many versatile features. The Duchess’s dual-density feel, and soft silicone feels very natural and super soft. It has a flared base, a very important feature for anal play; however, the lack of a suction cup base might limit some play options. Plus, the battery-operated bullet vibrator could be less convenient for some. But if you’re looking for a unique and attractive toy that offers both beauty and pleasure, the Duchess by Tantus is a great choice!
You should buy the Tantus The Duchess - Dual Density O2 Vibrating Dildo if you...
- love soft and squishy dildos
- want deep internal stimulation

You should not buy the Tantus The Duchess - Dual Density O2 Vibrating Dildo if you...

Adam Super Soft Silicone Dildo by Tantus

Tired of rock-hard, nearly plastic dildos? Why not try a large jelly dildo that combines a soft & flexible silicone with a semi-realistic design and curved shaft for the ultimate penetrative pleasures! With seven inches of insertable fun, you’re sure to love this dildo whether you’re using it alone or sharing in the love with a partner. The base is perfect for harness use, meaning if your partner loves to be pegged then they’re in for a treat! Enjoy a lifetime warranty and Tantus quality on the way to the Pleasure Palace with this lovely silicone dildo.
Pros
- ✅ Flexible silicone
- ✅ Harness-compatible
- ✅ 7 inches of insertable length
- ✅ Curved shaft design
Cons
- ❌ Attracts dust & dirt
- ❌ Lacks a suction cup base
- ❌ Doesn’t work with silicone lube
My verdict
Like most sex toys, this dildo has its strengths and its weaknesses. As a shower toy, this Tantus toy is insufficient, mainly due to its lack of a suction cup base. However, as a jelly anal dildo, this toy is great, offering 7 inches of firm yet flexible interior stimulation that’s sure to bring you to climax! The shaft is 1.68 inches wide for extra penetrating pleasures; the downside is that there’s more surface area to attract dust & dirt. Sadly, this toy doesn’t come with a carrying case so you’ll want to find a place to store it before you order it. Otherwise, you’ll likely spend just as much time cleaning your toy as you do using it!
You should buy the Adam Super Soft Silicone Dildo by Tantus if you...
- Need something for partner play
- Want to target your g/p-spot
- Enjoy semi-realistic toys
You should not buy the Adam Super Soft Silicone Dildo by Tantus if you...
- Want a firm dildo
- Need a suction cup base

This slim jelly dildo was created specifically for the ladies that wanted a less girthy dildo. With six inches of insertable length and 1.6” of width at the thickest point, we think this dildo is perfectly sized for beginners and intermediate users alike! While this toy definitely won’t split you apart, it has enough size to stimulate you easily from the inside, is curved for g/p-spot targeting, and is even safe for butt play! Best described as a “jack of all trades, master of none”, this dual density dildo is ready to please (no matter what you’re into!).
Pros
- ✅ Anal safe
- ✅ Can be used with a harness
- ✅ 6” of insertable length
- ✅ Dual density
Cons
- ❌ Costly
- ❌ Can’t be used with silicone lubes
- ❌ No color options
My verdict
Size queens & kings certainly won’t be satisfied with this mid-sized dildo, but for the average person, we think this dildo will do the job. Unfortunately, since these dildos are hand-poured, the price per dildo is quite high, which we think is the reason why most people will choose to pass on this purchase. Still, if you don’t mind the high price tag, the product you’ll receive is actually very good. Great for both solo & partner use, we think you can get a lot of use out of this dildo if you’re willing to experiment a bit. Pris Toys claims that this can be used as a butt plug as well. We’ll leave that up to you to test that claim!
You should buy the Pris Toys Solaris Slim Dual Density Dildo if you...
- Enjoy butt play
- Want something hand-poured
- Like dual-density toys
You should not buy the Pris Toys Solaris Slim Dual Density Dildo if you...
- Have a tight budget
- Want a girthy toy
- Prefer realistic-looking dildos
Lovehoney Super Soft Silicone Galaxy Dildo

If you’ve ever wanted a dildo that reminds you of a pillow from Walmart, look no further than this 7-inch dildo from Lovehoney! Realism meets science as your eyes move down the realistically shaped (but galaxy colored) shaft, from the bulbous head up top to the flared, suction-cup base at the bottom. The base can even be used in a harness, giving this dildo partner play potential in addition to its many solo uses. True, there are many larger dildos on the market, but coming in at less than $35, we think this toy packs a good punch nonetheless!
Pros
- ✅ Works with a harness
- ✅ Suction cup design
- ✅ 6 inches of insertable length
- ✅ Galaxy-theme design
Cons
- ❌ Not compatible with silicone lubes
- ❌ Lacks vibration
- ❌ “Super soft” is debatable
My verdict
Nothing stands out about this dildo. That’s not a bad thing though: it’s made well, it works well, and it offers most of the standard features that you’d find on a competitor’s model. Furthermore, this dildo is priced fairly, making it all the more appealing to first-time buyers. Nonetheless, its size is fairly small compared to many other dildos, and the pattern is a matter of personal preference. If you’re looking to build an already-existing collection of dildos then we’d probably recommend passing this one up, but if you have yet to buy your first toy, then this could be a good option for you.
You should buy the Lovehoney Super Soft Silicone Galaxy Dildo if you...
- Are looking for your first dildo
- Need a harness-compatible toy
- Want something affordable
You should not buy the Lovehoney Super Soft Silicone Galaxy Dildo if you...
- Won’t use the suction cup feature
- Want a dual density dildo
- Need a lengthy or girthy toy
Marshmallow Super Soft Silicone Sweets Twisty Dildo

As the most expensive toy on our list, you’re probably expecting big things from this dildo: we’re happy to report that it doesn’t disappoint! While the size alone is impressive (8.75 inches total, 7.75 insertable), the most unique part of this toy is its “twisty” design. At 1.7” wide, these twists essentially provide you with loads of ribbed pleasure as you slide the dildo in & out of your chosen hole(s). Along with the hand-poured dildo, you’ll also receive some complimentary lube & a metal carrying case. In case you couldn’t tell, this dildo is a top-tier toy!
Pros
- ✅ Made of high-quality silicone
- ✅ 7.75” insertable length
- ✅ Comes with lube
- ✅ “Twisty” design
Cons
- ❌ Expensive
- ❌ Non-returnable
- ❌ Design may not be for everyone
My verdict
This is one of those dildos where you’ll just need to take the plunge to find out if you like it…and we think you should! Colored & designed to look just like candy, this twisted dildo is fairly large, shaped for maximum pleasure during insertion OR while being turned inside of you, and is relatively girthy at 1.7”. While this dildo easily costs more than any other dildo on our list today, it’s also the only one to come with its own carry case, include a bottle of lube, and look drastically different than any other model on the market. If you want to expand your already-existent dildo collection but aren’t sure what to buy, do something different: buy the Marshmallow Super Soft Silicone Sweets Twisty Dildo!
You should buy the Marshmallow Super Soft Silicone Sweets Twisty Dildo if you...
- Love ribbed toys
- Need a sizeable dildo
- Want a unique toy
You should not buy the Marshmallow Super Soft Silicone Sweets Twisty Dildo if you...
- Want something cheap
- Don’t care about “hand poured”
- Prefer more traditional dildos

The Original Crystal Jellies (and Why to Leave Them Behind)
Although they claim to now be “phthalate-free”, these dildos haven’t changed much visually. Still, if you’re looking for a dildo that throws you back a few decades, there are still options available.

Doc Johnson Crystal Jellies Ballsy Suction Cup Dildo

If you’re tired of small & subpar penises then this giant, purple dildo is sure not to disappoint. At eight inches long and nearly two inches wide, you’ll have your work cut out for you to even fit this monster inside of you, let alone outgrow it!

Lifelike Lover Luxe Realistic Multicolored Silicone Dildo

Bright pink with a hint of purple, this dildo is slightly smaller at 7 inches long but makes up for it with its more realistic exterior. Grab a bottle of your favorite water-based lube & prepare for a fun night in with this “Lifelike Lover”!
What is a Double Density Dildo?
Unlike traditional dildos, double density dildos are made of layers (rather than being the same material all the way through). This gives the toy a softer exterior while still providing a firm interior for easy operation. Double density dildos are much closer to a real penis (in a physical sense) since the soft outer layer mimics skin while the interior layer mimics the stiffness of an erection.
What are Jelly Dildos Made of?
“Jelly” dildos can be made from a variety of materials including PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride), TPE (Thermoplastic elastomer), and silicone. Although much less common in silicone, technically speaking, any of these materials can contain phthalates, which are potentially harmful chemicals. At bare minimum, you want to choose a toy that is made of “phthalate-free” materials. However, we recommend sticking to medical-grade silicone toys for the safest, sexy experience!
How to Use a Jelly Dildo
Whether it’s your first time using a jelly dildo or a dildo in general, this mini-walkthrough will have you closer to the finish line in no time!

Lubricate

You’ll need to properly lube your toy before even considering insertion! In addition to lubricating the entire shaft of your toy, we also recommend adding a bit of lube to your chosen hole to help with insertion.

Insert

With proper lubrication, the insertion process shouldn’t be too hard. Still, if you’re struggling to get the toy inside of you then it’s possible you might just need more lube! However, if the toy still doesn’t want to go inside of you then you’ll need to try using your fingers instead. Rubbing, massaging, and playing with your chosen hole using your finger(s) can help relax the muscles enough to slip the dildo inside.

Enjoy!

Once you have the dildo inside of you then it’s all up to you! You’ll want to experiment a bit with thrust length, speed, patterns, and insertion angles to figure out which method(s) provide you with the most stimulation. Finally, a learning process that’s actually fun!
How to Clean a Jelly Dildo
Every jelly dildo can be easily cleaned using warm water and antibacterial soap! To do so, simply take the toy over to the sink after use, run some water along the shaft, scrub it clean with soap, then wash the soap off before drying the dildo off. Many jelly dildos are sticky to the touch, meaning that air drying will often be your only option. However, make sure your dildo is completely dry for storage. Otherwise, harmful bacteria can easily grow on your toy! If your jelly dildo happens to be made of medical-grade silicone then there’s good news: you can sterilize your toy as well! To do so, simply boil some water in a pot then drop your non-porous toy in the hot water. Leave it in there for at least three minutes before removing your toy and following the drying steps above.
materials
Soft plastic, hard plastic, jelly, rubber, Cyberskin are all porous materials, meaning that small particles and bacteria can penetrate the surface. This makes it impossible to completely clean these types of materials.
Therefore, it is recommended that you use a condom with these types of toys, especially if you are sharing them. Clean these toys with mild soapy water and dry gently with a towel. These materials are more easily damaged, so be sure to be gentle and make sure your toys are completely dry before storing.
materials
Silicone, glass, stainless steel and some hard plastics can all be washed using a mild soap (like you would use on your body) and warm water. Just be careful if your toy contains electrical parts.
Silicone and stainless steel toys without any electrical parts can also be boiled for sterilisation.
components
If your toys contain electrical components, be extra careful when cleaning them and always check the instructions provided with the toy. You can use a gentle cloth and soap to wipe or sex toy cleaner or cleaning wipe to down your toy, making sure that no water comes into contact with the electrical parts.
FAQ
What is a Jelly Dildo?
Jelly dildos are flexible, often brightly colored dildos (although you can also buy a clear jelly dildo as well!) made from PVC or silicone. Modern toys—at least those from well-respected manufacturers—tend to be body-safe, whereas previous generations of “jelly” dildos may contain large amounts of phthalates. These toys are known for providing low-cost sexual stimulation, which explains (but does not excuse) the sub-par materials used. Although there are many body-safe “jelly” dildos available online, it’s still possible to buy a phthalate-filled toy by mistake, so stay vigilant when purchasing new toys.
