My Experience With Aneros Helix Syn V
The Aneros Helix Syn V is the newest massager in the Aneros line and the first vibrating prostate massager to really blow me away. The original Helix Trident was my introduction to the Aneros line of massagers, so the shape of the Helix Syn V was familiar. Once the Helix Syn V was in place and I had it turned on, I couldn’t believe how low the low setting is. At first, I had to fight the urge to turn it up because I felt it was too low to do any good. After about 10 minutes, however, the subtle vibrations began to cause involuntary contractions and the toy began to move. The buildup, once started, progressed much faster than normal and what usually takes 45 minutes to an hour to achieve was upon me in half that time.
VibrationsThe vibration patterns vary from rhythmic to random, and constant intensity to various intensity patterns. Vibrating massagers have been hit-or-miss with me, especially when the vibes are rumbly, which tends to make me numb after a while. The vibration patterns of the Helix Syn V are, to me, perfect. The low setting is so low that even after a couple of hours, it still feels good. This is particularly good since the battery life on this unit is over five hours on the low setting and three hours on high. I personally like vibration settings 2 and 7. These are low frequency, light, and rhythmic pulsing of about 4 pulses per second. What these settings do well is keep the muscles moving the toy on their own. I do wish there were more settings like these two, the other settings are either not consistently rhythmic or they vary intensity to a distractingly high level.
Use During SexAfter using the Helix Syn V solo a few times, I brought it to bed with my wife. This is another place where the vibrations really shine. I left it low throughout foreplay and my body took care of the movement. Normally I have to remember to engage the Aneros from time-to-time but the vibrating toy coaxed the contractions out of me like magic. Once ready for the main event, I cranked up the intensity to high and left it there through the finish. This amazing little toy delivered quite the climax and the vibes kept me feeling good during the few minutes after, while I lay there catching my breath.

Aneros massagers are designed for movement on and around the prostate. The Helix Syn V has all of its components packaged into a size not much bigger than normal Aneros massagers (and smaller than some). This allows the toy to vibrate and move to create that sensation that Aneros is known for. With the same shape as the Helix Trident, it works just as well without the vibrations as the rest of the Aneros line. This photo compares the original Helix Syn Trident and the Helix Syn V.
Ease of Use
The size of the Helix Syn V makes it very approachable to the novice. The magnetic USB charging cable connects right up with its molded contour for the device holding the charger in place. The single-button control is very easy to use and understand.
The quality of the silicone used by Aneros is superb. There are no perceptible seams or bumps to irritate sensitive tissues and the arm that balances on the perineum is soft and flexible which makes it much more comfortable compared to the plastic massagers Aneros produces. The Silicone coating is smooth and comfortable and washes easily. The charger feels solid and connects well; its recessed cradle for the device keeps it positively in place.
The Helix Syn V sells for about $99 making it one of the less expensive name-brand prostate vibrators. Its performance, however, is well worth the money. The basic Aneros devices are around $55 where the Syn devices will run you $65 or so. For the extra money, the Helix Syn V’s vibration feature is a no-brainer, to me.
With vibrations off, the Helix Syn V works just like the other Helix Tridents. This shape rests unbalanced against the prostate and subtle movements of the surrounding muscles gently massage the prostate building pleasure over time. This Helix Syn V is not prone to being pushed out during orgasm and is great for use during sex. The vibrations add to the experience by gently coaxing the muscles to contract and get the device moving so the user can just relax into pleasure without concentrating on making the device move.
All of the Aneros products come in a nice book-style cardboard box. The front is latched magnetically and opens to the device lying neatly in its form-fitting cradle. The plastic insert that is the cradle can be removed for multiple devices to be stored in one box. This leaves a discrete case for you to store a few of your toys.
Materials and care
The Helix Syn V is made of an ABS plastic “skeleton” coated with a silicone skin. It’s smooth to the touch and glides nicely once lubed and inserted. You will want to wash the toy before and after with a mild soap and water and since the Helix Syn V is waterproof, you don’t have to fuss with keeping water out of any areas. Do make sure you dry it before attaching the charger, though. As with any silicone toy, don’t use silicone lubes on it. The material reportedly holds up well to water-based lubes, coconut oil, shea butter, and petroleum jelly. Aneros highly recommends water-based lubes.
What really sets the Helix Syn V off from other prostate vibrators is the size and vibration level. Other vibrators in this category seem to take the jackhammer approach to vibration and size where the Helix Syn V is like a fine-tuned chisel that coaxes the user into pleasure over time. The fact that it’s IPX-7 waterproof and not just splash-proof is a large improvement over most products. With the actual rating, you can be sure of how much the Helix Syn V can withstand. When others just say “waterproof,” it leaves you guessing.
