Bad or even just mediocre Silicone lubes didn’t make the list!

Thickness: When it comes to lube thickness, people have different preferences for how thick they like it to be. The Pjur Back Door is the thickest lube in this review, as it is designed to be used for anal. A thicker lube is recommended for anal as it is more cushioning and provides a thicker layer, making it more comfortable. The thickness of this lube was similar to hand soap. Sliquid Silver, however, was the thinnest lube, having a similar consistency to milk.
Price: The Pjur Original silicone is the cheapest lube in this round-up – Typically, silicone lubes are more expensive than water-based lubes for example, as silicone is a more expensive ingredient. It doesn’t have many special features and is a very basic silicone lube. Uberlube is the most expensive lube in this roundup – it looks and feels like the most premium lube, with its glass bottle and pump lid. If you have a larger budget and want to have high quality lube, then this is probably your perfect match!
Longevity: Silicone lubes are known to last long without drying out, compared to water or hybrid lubes. With these lubes, ID Millenniums’ silicone lube is the longest lasting, without needing to re-apply. To avoid it becoming sticky and tacky, then re-application is needed, otherwise, it will keep you lubricated for ages! I have found that thinner lubes don’t seem to last as long as thicker lubes, as they seem to slowly dry out and disappear when friction occurs!
This table shows the results of the tests I carried out on all the Silicone based lubes. I have compared all of their features in this table:

Test Winner Uberlube Silicone Lube
Uberlube is said to be one of the top quality lubes on the market, with its premium glass bottle, its modern packaging, and its easy-to-use pump lid. This lube will provide more lubrication and help with friction during sex. It does not leave a sticky feeling after use but moisturizes the skin, making it feel soft and smooth after. It is easy to wash off the skin and doesn’t leave a stain on sheets. The pH of this lube is 6, meaning that it is more acidic. This is good as you want your lube to match your body’s natural pH, reducing the risk of an imbalance or infection. Uberlube is in the higher price bracket, but its quality of packaging and product reflect this.
Pros
- ✅ No preservatives, fragrances, parabens, glycerin, gluten or alcohol
- ✅ Long-lasting
- ✅ Glides beautifully
- ✅ Elegant glass bottle
- ✅ Dispenses a good size portion
- ✅ No risk of spilling or losing the lid
Cons
- ❌ Pricey
- ❌ Not compatible with silicone toys
- ❌ Very thin
Why I Chose It
This lube claims that it is the best of the best, and I would mostly agree! Uberlube has premium standard packaging and is a high-quality silicone lube, that is smooth and silky on the skin, but not getting tacky. It is one of the thinner lubes, making it feel more natural on the skin and when in use with a partner or toy. If you’re looking for a lube that would be better suited to anal activities, I would opt for a thicker more cushioning lube, such as the Pjur Back Door Anal Lube. As well, if you would like a lube that you know you won’t have to re-apply or worry that it isn’t going to last long enough, I would recommend a lube with a higher longevity reading, like the Pjur Original Silicone Lube. Overall, Uberlube is one of the greats. I would highly recommend this silicone lube to anyone needing a little more slip in their sex life.
Runner Up Pjur Woman Silicone Lube
The Pjur Woman Silicone Lube is a high-quality silicone lube that feels premium when using it. This lube has a high viscosity, being one of the thickest in the collection. It felt long-lasting and coated my sex toy well, lasting for a long period! It didn’t become dry like some water-based lubes, which was great! The bottle was simple and the branding was boring, but it was pretty easy to use – the bottle was made of thin, flexible plastic. This lube is FDA-approved, letting me know that it is a trustworthy lube that has been put through proper tests. It works with glass and metal toys, as well as all types of condoms, as well as having a neautral pH reading, so I wasn’t worried about my body’s pH levels being affected.
Pros
- ✅ High quality product
- ✅ Smooth and thick
- ✅ Not sticky
- ✅ Long lasting
Cons
- ❌ Twist off lid is hard when hands are slippery
- ❌ Very similar to Pjur Original
- ❌ Didn't notice the 'female' benefits
Why I Chose It
The Pjur Woman Silicone lube was up there being one of my favorites. It felt so smooth and moisturizing on the skin, perfect for sensitive skin. It felt natural and soft when using it with a partner; I trusted it to last as long as I did. I am not a lover of thick lubes, and this lube had the perfect viscosity to it. I am a big fan of the Pjur lube collection and this one didn’t disappoint. However, this lube was the tackiest out of all the Pjur lubes which isn’t something I like, as I would rather have a lube with no tack so that it feels more natural. The bottle was easy to use and squeeze out, as it wasn’t made of hard plastic, like the Sliquid bottles. I would have preferred a pump lid bottle, like the Uberlube, as I find that the easiest to use out of all lid types. Go and buy it!

Budget Friendly ID Millenium Silicone Lube
For someone who is traditionally a water-based lube lover, this silicone lube really made me change my opinion. This reasonably priced silicone lube had a premium feel to it, being thick and coated when using it with my glass sex toy. It is compatible with latex and polyurethane condoms, as well as being waterproof, as it is difficult to wash off the skin with water. The design of the packaging is simple but sleek looking, almost having a more masculine look. I really liked how easy the bottle was to squeeze, as I could easily control how much lube came out on each squeeze. This lube ticks all the boxes!
Pros
- ✅ Felt high quality
- ✅ Packaging was easy to use
- ✅ Long lasting - didn't have to reapply
Cons
- ❌ Didn't wash off skin easily
- ❌ Not compatible with silicone toys
- ❌ Very tacky
Why I Chose It
The ID Millenium silicone lube is very reliable – it is long-lasting, and has a very easy-to-use bottle, just like the Pjur bottles, but it was even easier with the click-close lid! It can be used with a sex toy or a partner and I would also suggest it for anal activities, as it is thick enough! It had a very similar consistency to the Pjur Back Door anal silicone lube. I usually prefer using silicone toys, which I couldn’t do with this silicone lube, so I usually favor a water-based lube over a silicone lube. It also stained the sheets and was quite difficult to wash off the skin as it was so thick and tacky, which was annoying. Overall, if you’re a lover of thick lubes that feel high quality and smooth on the skin, then I would highly recommend this one to you!

Best for anal Pjur Back Door Silicone Anal Lube
The Pjur Back Door silicone lube is the one of the thickest and tackiest out of the 6 lubes in this roundup. It advertises itself as an anal lube, as it fully seals and cushions the skin and sex toys. It has a neutral pH reading of 7, which is a great reading for an anal product, as the anus has a neutral pH balance itself. Its packaging is similar to all the other Pjur lubes, with its familiar screw-off lid and squeezable bottle – I am a fan of pump lids, so these screw-off lids are always a disappointment for me. Pjur lubes are FDA-approved, which I always appreciate as it tells me that the product has been tested and is reliable. I had no doubts that this lube would last forever, as it was quite difficult to wash off, due to its high tackiness – It wasn’t budging!
Pros
- ✅ Creates a thick coating
- ✅ Long-lasting
- ✅ No re-application needed
Cons
- ❌ High tackiness
- ❌ A heavy lube that feels slightly unnatural
Why I Chose It
This lube could last forever – I think it feels premium and moisturizing on the skin, and I fully trust it to last long and feel comfortable during anal. I am not typically a fan of silicone lubes, but this one did impress me. But the packaging lets it down. I always like a bottle that matches the quality of the product, like the ID Millenium silicone lube, but I don’t think this one does. The design is fun but looks a little tacky, and putting such a premium-feeling product inside a plastic bottle is a letdown. Overall, the Pjur Back Door lube would last as long as you do, only making you reapply once it gets tacky. If you’re looking to lubricate YOUR back door, this lube is probably a great match for you!

Best for Vulva Owners Sliquid Silver Silicone Lube
If you’re looking for a thin, slippery silicone lube, then this might be your best bet. The Sliquid Silver lube is a thin and fast-running lube, that feels natural and smooth on the skin. This lube can be used with glass and metal toys, as well as latex and polyurethane condoms. Place the lube on your skin or toy to act as another layer, preventing friction and providing more comfort during sex. Its’ bottle is made of hard plastic, with a click-close lid, which I prefer to a screw-off lid, as I find them hard to use when my hands have lube on them! This lube has no taste but a very slight chemical smell out of the bottle. It has a high price tag, but silicone lubes tend to be more expensive than water-based lubes.
Pros
- ✅ Very slippery
- ✅ Not tacky
- ✅ Left no sheet stains
Cons
- ❌ Not thick like other silicone lubes
- ❌ Hard bottle to squeeze
- ❌ Chemical smell
Why I Chose It
I think Sliquid’s Silver silicone lube is equally good and bad, with the lube itself being a great lubricant to use during sex or with a sex toy. This silicone lube is thin and watery; lube qualities that I look for and appreciate. But the packaging is what let it down – the bottle was made of thick, hard plastic of which was difficult to squeeze the lube out! It helped that the lube was so thin, so it could drip out of the bottle on its own without much squeeze effort. I really wouldn’t recommend this lube to anyone with weak hand strength. The quality of the lube was pretty good and did what it promised on the packaging. Yet for its high price tag, I don’t think it is worth it. I would recommend a cheaper lube, like the Pjur Original Silicone lube, which also had an easy squeeze bottle.
Best for couples sex Pjur Original Silicone Lube
Pjur lubes have to be some of my favorite lubes, and this one is no exception. Pjur Original is a cheap and basic lube, that doesn’t lack in quality and performance. It is smooth and soft on the skin, with an average viscosity – not being too thick or too thin. It has no taste or smell and has no special features – it is a very standard silicone lube. Its branding and packaging are simple, somewhat boring, yet recognizable. It is FDA-approved like all Pjur lubes, but has a higher pH reading of 7, making it more neutral than the other Pjur silicone lubes. I would have liked a more acidic lube, as they carry less risk of affecting my body’s natural pH balance. The twist-off lid is challenging to use if you have lubed-up hands, so leave the lid off when mid-way through use.
Pros
- ✅ Not tacky
- ✅ Thinner than the other Pjur Silicone lubes
- ✅ Easy to wash off
Cons
- ❌ Leaves a slightly dark stain when dried
- ❌ Screw off lid is hard to use when hands are lubed
Why I Chose It
If someone said to me “Describe a silicone lube”, I would hand them this bottle. It is exactly what it says it is on the bottle – It feels smooth and natural when on the skin, it is slippery enough to last long enough and it doesn’t get too tacky too fast. The bottle is easy enough to use; being easy to squeeze out enough lube to the desired areas. It’s perfect for those on a budget, but still not wanting a bad lube. I don’t have a lot bad to say! Sure, I would prefer a pump lid and maybe a more exciting packaging design, but those are minor points. It is very similar to the Pjur Woman silicone lube; having the same feel to it when on the skin. Not many complaints, it’s going in my basket!
