Ever wondered how long the average blowjob lasts or what’s considered the ideal time for this intimate act? Our report delves into these intriguing questions, analyzing a wide array of data to compare real-life experiences with cinematic depictions and to explore personal expectations. Additionally, we introduce a unique mathematical formula designed to estimate blowjob durations. Join us as we uncover the facts and shatter myths, offering a fresh perspective on a topic of universal curiosity.
Here’s what we’ve covered in this report:
- How long does the average blow job last
- How long should the ideal blow job last
- How long do men last when receiving a blow job
- How long do blow jobs last in porn
- Calculating the time a blow job takes (a mathematical formula)
Key Findings
- The average blow job lasts for 9 minutes and 33 seconds.
- The average blow job in a new hookup lasts for 11 minutes and 4 seconds.
- Men on average report that their ideal blow job lasts for 7 minutes and 22 seconds.
- Women report that the ideal blow job lasts for 10 minutes and 11 seconds (3 minutes longer than men).
- Blow jobs in porn on average lasts for 11 minutes and 44 seconds.
- The older you are the longer a blowjob.
How long does the average blow job last
Based on 12,112 self-reported timings from 3,271 different individuals (both singles, people who have been dating someone for less than 3 months, people in new relationships who have been together for 3-12 months, and long-term couples).
- The average blow job lasts for 9 minutes and 33 seconds.
To get as precise and unbiased data as possible we asked respondents to time the blow job. Around 21% of the reported timings had actual objectively measured timings behind them. Others were rough estimates from either gender.
To nuance the findings we also looked at the reporting across different demographics and relationship types, and found that:
Relationship types | Blow Job on Average Lasts |
---|---|
Singles, during hookups | 11.07 minutes |
Dating, first 3 months of a relationship | 7.87 minutes |
Couples, 3-12 month relationships | 8.52 minutes |
Couples, 12+ month relationships | 9.97 minutes |
All | 9.55 minutes |
To convert the decimal numbers into seconds you can reference the below bullet list:
- The average blow job for singles during hookups on average lasts 11 minutes and 4 seconds.
- The average blow job for couples that have been dating for less than 3 months on average lasts 7 minutes and 52 seconds.
- The average blow job for couples that have been together for 3-12 months on average lasts 8 minutes and 31 seconds.
- The average blow job for couples that have been together for more than 12 months on average lasts 9 minutes and 58 seconds.
Note: Very few respondents who reported on blow job timings during hookups and reported to be single did not report to have objective timings, hence most of the data aggregation is based on estimates for this group.
How long should the ideal blow job last
Based on the survey data we found that
- Men say that the ideal blow job lasts for 7 minutes and 22 seconds.
- 90% of men report that they prefer that a blow job is between 6 and 17 minutes
These numbers are both not far from the reality of how long the average blow job lasts.
Additionally, it is also very similar to the reported ideal blow job times by women:
- Women report that the ideal blow job lasts for 10 minutes and 11 seconds (actually almost 3 minutes longer than men).
- 90% of women would prefer a blow job to be between 7 minutes and 14 minutes.
What the data also showed is that very few women (2.1%) reported that +15 minute blow jobs were ideal, while it was almost double the amount of men who reported to prefer +15 minute blow jobs (6.8%).
It shows, that while men on average report to prefer shorter blow jobs, there is also a significant cohort of men that report to prefer long blow jobs.
How long do men last when receiving a blow job
Albeit, the answer is provided during the last two sections it does not reveal more about, how long men of different ages on average last during a blow job.
Age group | How long do men last when getting a blow job? |
---|---|
18-24 | 7 minutes and 12 seconds |
25-34 | 8 minutes and 51 seconds |
35-44 | 9 minutes and 13 seconds |
45-54 | 9 minutes and 49 seconds |
55-64 | 11 minutes and 2 seconds |
65-74 | 13 minutes and 43 seconds |
75+ | 16 minutes and 38 seconds |
All | 9 minutes and 33 seconds |
How long do blow jobs last in porn
A few months back we also did a Pornhub research study and looked at a lot of different factors. One of them, that we did not focus that much on in the following published article was blow jobs. One of the things we did was count and time the length of those.
Of course, this can hardly be compared in the sense that it helps explain the length of blow jobs in real life. However, it does provide a different perspective on how porn is different from the sex life of non-pornstars.
What we found is that:
- Blow jobs in porn on average last for 11 minutes and 44 seconds, meaning it is 2 minutes and 11 seconds longer than the average blow job time (lasting 9 minutes and 33 seconds).
Calculating the time a blow job takes (a mathematical formula)
S - (D + E) = T
- S = Stamina of the person giving the blowjob
- D = Duration of time needed to reach orgasm
- E = Time spent edging the orgasm
- T = Time of blow job
Note: If T < 0, then T = S. In other words, if the “Time of the Blow Job”, T, is calculated to a negative number, then the time is instead replaced with the stamina of the person giving the blow job, S.
