Methodology

We looked into various factors to find the best city for a dirty weekend. We considered data before scoring each city out of 100. The factors considered were:

We used a seed list from Adventures of Alice looking at the most romantic cities in Europe, selected 13 locations from the list, and analyzed the above factors.

We also used a seed list from Time Out to source five US cities to include in the ranking.

We used Google Flights to calculate the average cost of a flight from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (the most used airport in the US), we did this by averaging the cost of a weekend return flight during the months of September and October 2022.

We used Expedia to gauge the average cost of a two-night stay by looking at the top ten most recommended hotels, not including ads.

We retrieved the number of sex shops from Yelp and then used TripAdvisor to retrieve data on the number of parks, spas, beaches, seafood restaurants, and romantic activities in each city.

The results

1) New York, USA

Placing first in the ranking as the best destination for a dirty weekend, the city of New York scored 81 out of 100 points. New York offers a wide range of sex shops, with 71 available throughout the city.

New York also has 405 seafood restaurants and 95 parks. Couples can also indulge in some sightseeing when taking a break from bedroom antics and see popular attractions such as the Statue of Liberty.
