Why I Chose It

I have said it before, and I’ll say it again, this is one of my most favourite natural lubes on the market. The Ah! Yes Organic Water Based lube is an excellent organic lube that doesn’t contain any harmful additives, like glycerin or parabens. It comes in the easiest to use bottle ever – you can squeeze it onto any part of the body while being accurate.

Ah! Yes is one of my favourite lube brands, due to the high quality of their products. From the packaging to whats inside the tube, the whole product is something I would certainly invest my money in. With this lube being both water-based and organic, I never have to worry about whether or not it is going to negatively affect my downstairs, by potentially creating a bacterial infection. This often occurs in lubes that contain glycerin, as it is a sugar that can promote bacterial growth, therefore throwing off the natural pH of a vulva. With water-based lubes, you can also use it with any sex toy material, without having to worry about damage or breakage.

The only downfall that this lube has, is that I wouldn’t use it for anal or rigorous sexual activities, as I don’t think it is thick enough,

Why I Chose It

Who doesn’t love a bit of flavour to sweeten things up? At first, I thought a flavoured lube wouldn’t be up my street, as I have never tried something like this before! But I love JO lubes and also strawberry flavoured things, so what can go wrong? The System JO NaturaLove Strawberry flavoured lube is a great organic lube that will spice up your sex life with added flavour. Both the taste and smell of this lube is sweet and strawberry flavoured, making sex more enjoyable and desirable. The scent really holds and you can smell strawberries for a long time! In my experience, I have found that most organic lubes have a dull smell, almost like a moisturiser or a cream, which to me doesn’t smell very attractive.

This lube is water based, meaning that it can be used with any sex toy material or condom type, as well as having only organic ingredients, which is great for sensitive vulva owners. As someone who is prone to throwing off their pH, I really always try and opt for organic lubes, as glycerin and me, just aren’t friends.

The only thing I didn’t like about this lube, was the texture. I have never felt a lube like it? When you think of lube, you think of a seamless liquid that is either thick or thin, not having this jelly-like texture to it! Once rubbed into the skin, it left a thin, light layer, but originally it is thick and gel-like. If you are not fussy about texture, then this can easily be overlooked – I think next time I’ll just turn the lights off so I don’t have to look at it…!

Cons

Why I Chose It

This one is definitely for the girls, as the AH! Yes Vaginal Moisturiser is a vaginal lubricant that can be used to provide more wetness to your sex life. This ‘lube’ is great for women that experience dryness or find it hard to maintain wetness throughout sex – this moisturiser keeps your downstairs lubricated and wet – making sex more comfortable and enjoyable.

I wouldn’t recommend this as a go-to sexual lubricant, based on the fact it dries up pretty quickly and becomes tacky the more friction occurs. It is not the thickest lube to be using with 2 people, so if you are planning on using it for sexual activities, then I would only recommend using it for personal masturbation or with a small sex toy.

Looking at it from an outsiders perspective, the packaging and design of this lube is highly attractive and makes it look and feel high quality and expensive. But yes, despite these things, it is expensive and certainly one that requires some saving. I think that will all the organic ingredients and high quality of the overall product, it is worth the money.

  • Water-based lubricant
  • pH 6 – acidic
  • Vanilla smell

Specifications

Pros

  • A thick, premium quality lube
  • Can be used with all toy and condom materials
  • Easy to use bottle
  • Sleek and attractive packaging

Cons

  • Doesn't last in water as long as a silicone lube
  • Not the cheapest lube on the market

Why I Chose It

The Intimate Earth Hydra is one of my favorite lubes on the market, as it really ticks all the boxes. It is smooth and conditioned when on the skin, as well as the right viscosity for any type of sex, including anal. The intimate Earth lubes are some of my favourite, as the brand makes high quality lubes that have eye-catching packaging. I adore a lube that use natural ingredients, as it puts my mind at ease knowing that it is safe for my body – the pH of 6 shows that it is slightly acidic which matches the naturally acidic pH of a vagina, therefore reducing the risks! A low risk, high quality lube, what more could you want?

The Intimate Earth’s Hydra Lube is an Organic water-based lube that is thick lube but still manages to not get tacky, and creates and even seal around a sex toy. It is a sexual lubricant that can be used with any sex toy material or condom type and comes in a tall plastic bottle, that is easy to squeeze. The click-close lid makes it easy to direct the lube accurately onto the desired area of the skin. Unfortunately, it is not FDA approved but it has been through scientific testing, making it safe for the market. It has a pH reading of 6, which shows that it is slightly more acidic that alkali. This is good as it is closer to the pH reading of a vagina, attempting to closely match the pH levels in order to avoid infection.

This table highlights and compares the features of the 4 Best Natural lubes. I have highlighted what I think are the most influential features when it comes to buying a lube:

Thickness: I always think thickness of a lube is individual to each user, as you know what you like best! But when it comes to advice, I always recommend a thicker lube for anal or more rigorous sex, as it will make things more cushioned and comfortable. A thinner lube is going to feel lighter and more natural.

Price:  Natural lubes that use Organic ingredients can often be more expensive than other lubes, as they use ingredients that are more expensive and better for the body. Organic ingredients often don’t include parabens or glycerin, of which can negatively react with the body. Be aware of this when looking for an Organic lube – I have chosen the JO NaturaLove Strawberry Organic Lube as my budget friendly pick!

Longevity: Depending on how long you want to use the lube, some re-application may be needed, to keep it lubricated! The more friction and longer you use the lube, the quicker it is likely to dry up, especially if it is water-based.

This table shows the results of the tests I carried out on all the Natural lubes. I have compared all of their features in this table:
