My Verdict
The Doc Johnson Dick Rambone Dildo is a force to be reckoned with! It's comically large for something with a realistic design and it's definitely something I would only recommend to advanced users who love BOTH stretching and depth play. I've given it a lower rating because I don't like that it's made of PVC and the suction cup base seems almost redundant because it's too heavy to stand upright anyway!

Before writing a review of the Doc Johnson Dick Rambone Dildo, I had to figure out who this legendary dildo was molded and named after. I wasn’t familiar with Dick Rambone because he peaked on the adult film scene way before my time! But apparently he was all the rage in the 80s! At first, I didn’t believe that this enormous dildo could actually be a replicate of a real-life penis, so I had to see the proof for myself. I merrily jumped down the rabbit hole of cheesy vintage porn until I found the man of the hour. I breathed a sigh of relief as I recognized the shape and details of his appendage but not the size. Doc Johnson has taken their liberties to use Dick Rambone’s penis mold and upsized it significantly! I guess they wanted to create an extreme dildo to match the glorious name. Sometimes I pride myself on being a fan of dildos that are on the girthier side. When I then find myself in the realm of advanced kinksters who think anything bigger is better, I am confronted with my limitations. Not satisfied by regular-to-slim dildos, not yet a size queen. The Doc Johnson Dick Rambone Dildo is quite the looker. At first glance, you kind of get the urge to gulp in fear. It is huge! Here, it's pictured with my other huge realistic dildo, the Mr. Hankey's Toys Nick Capra Dildo, which is girthier but shorter than the Doc Johnson Dick Rambone Dildo. The details are surprisingly realistic but the coloring is not super lifelike. While Doc Johnson claim it is molded from Dick Rambone's penis, it definitely isn't a precise replica. When something is upsized to that degree some liberties have been taken to 'fill in the gaps' design-wise.
Ease of Use
Of course, the Doc Johnson Dick Rambone Dildo is marketed as a larger dildo for advanced users. So, for the intended group of recipients this dildo isn't THE most difficult toy to use. It's a simple dildo that required lots of lube and warm-up to enjoy. The PVC is quite firm, which is an advantage when it comes to anal penetration.
Quality
The most disappointing aspect of the Doc Johnson Dick Rambone Dildo, for me, is the overall quality. It's made of PVC which is not 100% body-safe or sterilizable. Since it's so large and ideal for depth play, I don't even feel like using a condom would be an easy solution. Depth play with a normal-sized condom on this dong would risk losing it inside of you! The coloring also doesn't add to the realism since it's completely monochrome. A few extra touches to the design may have made it feel more lifelike.
Price
For a huge dildo that is molded from an actual porn star, the price is actually not that bad. Of course, since it's made of PVC, I still wouldn't buy it myself. Although, if you don't mind the material and you're just looking for an extreme dildo to push you to your limits, the Doc Johnson Dick Rambone Dildo won't break the bank.
Performance
I don't quite know what I was expecting from the Doc Johnson Dick Rambone Dildo. I was surprised to feel how firm it was and immediately felt more discouraged from using it vaginally. When it comes to girthier dildos, I prefer them squishy. It provides a super intense stretch but I admit that it wasn't my cup of tea sensations-wise. The texture was a bit much for me. Even though I haven't used it anally, I can imagine this firmness would be great for advanced anal play.
Packaging
Unfortunately, I don't have the packaging for the Doc Johnson Dick Rambone Dildo anymore but it comes in fairly simple plastic shell casing with a card stock insert. It's not particularly discreet since it's so large and the dildo is on full display!
Materials and care
The Doc Johnson Dick Rambone Dildo is made of firm PVC which is a porous material that cannot be sterilized. Porous materials are generally not ideal for internal use since they are super difficult to keep clean. Microscopic holes in porous materials like this harbor bacteria and dirt over time. You can clean it thoroughly between each use but it's not considered 100% body-safe. I usually recommend using a condom with toys made of porous materials but that's only good idea if you're not inserting it up further than the condom goes!
