Why I Chose It
This lube claims that it is the best of the best, and I would mostly agree! Uberlube has premium packaging and is a high-quality silicone lube, that is smooth and silky on the skin, that doesn’t become tacky. It is one of the thinner lubes in this roundup, making it feel more natural on the skin and when in use with a partner or toy. If you’re looking for a lube that would be better suited to anal activities, I would opt for a thicker more cushioning lube, such as the Pjur Back Door Anal Lube.
I have never been the biggest fan of silicone lubes, simply because I have a lot of silicone toys, and the two cannot be used together, due to risk of damage to the toy. But my head has turned when I met Uberlube. When rubbed into the skin, it feels smooth and slimy, while feeling like it is going to last an extended amount of time. After a couple seconds of rubbing lube, you can tell if it is going to be one that lasts, or one that is going to dry out very quickly – this lube feels like it is going to last forever! The small bottle is also easy to hold and the pump lid is a dream – I am a huge critic when it comes to lube packaging, as I hate lube bottles where you have to twist off the lid; I can never do it with lube on my hands! So a pump lid is the winning lid for me – its easy and accurate!
Overall, Uberlube is one of the greats. I would highly recommend this silicone lube to anyone needing a little more slip in their sex life. If you are looking for a higher quality lube that you can openly display on your bedside table, then this is the product for you.

Why I Chose It
If someone said to me “Describe a silicone lube”, I would hand them this bottle. It is exactly what it says it is on the bottle – It feels smooth and natural when on the skin, it is slippery enough to last long enough and it doesn’t get too tacky too fast. Pjur lubes have to be some of my favorite lubes, and this one is no exception. Pjur Original is a cheap and basic lube, that doesn’t lack in quality and performance. It has no taste or smell and has no special features – when I first tested this lube, I remember saying “The design is basic and some-what uninteresting, but the product itself is great.” I’d say that this really is one of the best beginner silicone lubes – it is very simple and easy to use, as well as providing a great experience.
The bottle is the only downfall – I would say the one thing I am overly picky about in life, the bottle design of my favorite lube. Why, for a slippery product that often goes on your hands, would you put it in a smooth, plastic bottle and give it a twist off cap? It makes no sense to me, are you trying to frustrate me even more?! I would much prefer a pump lid so that I can get the product out easily. Other than that, no further complaints, it’s going in my basket!
So why have I chosen this lube out of all the lubes on the market, as my best for beginners pick? We have all been a beginner at some point in our lives, heck, the first time even trying lube! I remember not wanting overwhelming, with loads of bells and whistles, I want a simple lube that does exactly what it said on the bottle, no further surprises. And the Pjur original does exactly that – a basic, good quality, silicone lube.

Why I Chose It
The ID Millenium silicone lube is one of the dark horses in the race for the best silicone lube… On first impression, I didn’t think much of this product at all. A boring, unimaginative design that looks like something I would be able to fix up in graphic design at school, I am being honest when I say I wouldn’t look twice at buying this product. But boy am I glad for learning not to judge a lube by its’ bottle design, for this lube has won my heart and of course reached my top 6 best silicone lubes roundup!
It is one of the most reliable lubes I have used – a product that I don’t have to reapply often – it is long-lasting without needing reapplication, but does become tacky and sticky after some time. By now you should be aware of how important the bottle is to me, and the ID lube doesn’t disappoint – it has an easy-to-use bottle that has a click-close lid,, for ease and accuracy.
I would recommend this lube for anal activities, as it is certainly thick enough! It had a very similar consistency to the Pjur Back Door anal silicone lube. I usually prefer using silicone toys, which I couldn’t do with this silicone lube, so I usually favor a water-based lube over a silicone lube. It also stained the sheets and was quite difficult to wash off the skin as it was so thick and tacky, which was annoying. Overall, if you’re a lover of thick lubes that feel high quality and smooth on the skin, then I would highly recommend this one to you!
Best for Women Pjur Woman Silicone Lube
- No warming features, smell or taste
- Latex and rubber condom compatible
- Not compatible with silicone sex toys
Specifications
Pros
- ✅ High quality product
- ✅ Smooth and thick
- ✅ Not sticky
- ✅ Long lasting
Cons
- ❌ Twist off lid is hard when hands are slippery
- ❌ Very similar to Pjur Original
- ❌ Didn't notice the 'female' benefits
Why I Chose It
Some of us have a sensitive downstairs area, so when using lube, you have to think about the ingredients and what is inside it, so it doesn’t throw off the pH and make it all a bit funky. That is why I had to include the Pjur woman silicone lube, a lube that has really thought about the care of a sensitive vulva. This lube doesn’t contain any ingredients like glycerin, a known ingredient for promoting bacterial growth, therefor then potentially causing an infection… no thanks! It includes vulva friendly ingredients that are sensitive to the area and don’t negatively affect it. Thanks Pjur!
I have never been the biggest lover of very thick lubes, but for some reason this lube changed my mind. When in use, the Pjur Woman Silicone Lube is a high-quality lube that feels premium and luxurious on the skin. I am a big fan of the Pjur collection and this one didn’t disappoint. Unfortunately however, this lube was the tackiest out of all the Pjur lubes which isn’t something I like, as I would rather have a lube with no tack so that it feels more natural. I would have also preferred a pump lid bottle, like the Uberlube, as I find that the easiest to use out of all lid types. But I am picky on the bottle designs of lubes anyway, and Pjur haven’t been ranking well in that category anyway.
Best for anal Pjur Back Door Silicone Anal Lube
- High tackiness
- Compatible with latex and rubber condoms
- High priced product
Specifications
Pros
- ✅ Creates a thick coating
- ✅ Long-lasting
- ✅ No re-application needed
Cons
- ❌ High tackiness
- ❌ A heavy lube that feels slightly unnatural
Why I Chose It
This lube could last forever – I think it feels premium and moisturizing on the skin, and I fully trust it to last long and feel comfortable during anal. I am not typically a fan of silicone lubes, but this one did impress me. The Pjur Back Door silicone lube is the one of the thickest and tackiest out of the 5 lubes in this roundup. It advertises itself as an anal lube, as it fully seals and cushions the skin and sex toys. Its packaging is similar to all the other Pjur lubes, with its familiar screw-off lid and squeezable bottle – I am a fan of pump lids, so these screw-off lids are always a disappointment for me. Pjur lubes are FDA-approved, which I always appreciate as it tells me that the product has been tested and is reliable.
Overall, the Pjur Back Door lube would last as long as you do, only making you re-apply once it gets tacky. I had no doubts that this lube would last forever, as it was quite difficult to wash off, due to its high tackiness – It wasn’t budging! If you’re looking to lubricate YOUR back door, this lube is probably a great match for you!

What to think about when buying a Silicone lube:
Thickness: I would recommend using a thick lube for anal activities as it is more cushioning and provides a thicker layer, making it more comfortable. A thinner lube can feel more natural but can sometimes be more watery and runny.
Price: Typically, silicone lubes are more expensive than water-based lubes for example, as silicone is a more expensive ingredient. Uberlube is the most expensive lube in this roundup – it looks and feels like the most premium lube, with its’ glass bottle and pump lid. Water-based lubes would be a better choice if you’re on a strict budget.
Longevity: Silicone lubes are known to last long without drying out, compared to water or hybrid lubes. With these lubes, ID Millennium’s silicone lube is the longest lasting, without needing to re-apply. I have found that thicker lubes tend to last longer without reapplication, as they don’t dry out as quickly!
This table shows the results of the tests I carried out on all the Silicone based lubes. I have compared all of their features in this table:

pH*: Since there’s no water (H2O) in the silicone lubes you can’t get a pH reading because there is no hydrogen ion activity (H+), the hydrogen comes from the “H” part of the H2O.
Hybrid lubes - Are they better?
Silicone lubes can be a hot topic when it comes to what lube should be used. I think they are a pretty taboo topic, simply because they are not compatible with silicone toys, of which half the sex toy industry seems to be made up of! Yet silicone lubes should not be left on the shelf, as they can be very long lasting and soemtimes thicker, whcih is great for anal play!
Hybrid lubes - Are they better?
Hybrid lubes are usually used as an alternate to water-based lubes, as they contain both water and silicone, but last longer than a pure water-based lube. There is a constant argument on which lube is the best to use; water based, hybrid or silicone. They all have pros and cons, so unfortunately there is no right answer, it is simply up to you! As a lube expert, I would always recommend a water-based lube, as they are less likely to contain glycerin and are compatible with all condom types and silicone toys. But then again, hybrid and silicone lubes tend to be thicker and last longer, so tailor it to the type of sex you are planning on having.
Why have I not mentioned pH?
Since there’s no water (H2o) in the silicone lubes, a pH reading doesn’t exist because there is no hydrogen ion activity (H+), the hydrogen comes from the “H” part of the H2O. You will only find a pH reading on the hybrid or the water-based lube reviews.
