Why I Chose It
I’ve picked out the Master Series Anal Hook as the Test Winner of this review because it’s just an overall great product. The size makes it suitable (and enjoyable) for a lot of different levels of experience. It has that classic design and construction that most people look for when seeking out an anal hook for their kinky adventures.
I tested this anal hook myself and was impressed by the overall sensation. Even though it wasn’t the best entry-level anal hook, I succesfully inserted it (with lots of patience and warm-up) and quickly found out that it wasn’t nearly as intimidating as I had thought initially.
Once the ball is in, the slim rod is very comfortable, especially for more long-term play. The firmness of the ball feels amazing for internal massage and I love how stimulating it is with even the smallest movements in the loop at the other end. When my partner connected the loop to a rope that was tied to a collar, I truly got to appreciate the joys of predicament bondage! The hook feels very durable safe to wear even during more vigorous tugging and pulling.

Cons
- ❌ Expensive
- ❌ Ball needs to be screwed on tightly

Why I Chose It
While anal hooks are an advanced bondage toy that is best suited to people with experience, this is a slightly smaller version that will be both approachable for daring beginners and satisfying for more experienced users.
It’s very similar to other types of anal hooks on the market with the same traditional shape, color, and hook size. The ball itself can also be unscrewed. The ball is detachable to make it easier to clean. However, this means you have to be extra careful to check the ball is screwed on tightly before using.
Our tester, Devon, was deeply impressed by the DOMINIX Deluxe Small Anal Hook and gave it an amazing review: “This anal hook is the best thing I’ve had for specifically targeting of the prostate with vigorous or gentle massage — it had me quaking in no time.”

Why I Chose It
I also had the pleasure of testing out the UPKO Vaginal/Anal Hook for myself. After struggling a bit to insert that fairly large (not-very-tapered) ball from the Master Series Anal Hook, I was so excited to try an anal hook that didn’t require SO much warm-up. Fortunately, this tiny ball can comfortably be inserted both anally and vaginally with very minimal warm-up!
On the flip side, I didn’t get to enjoy the same kind of pleasure from it when using it anally as with my larger anal hook. It’s just not long enough or large enough to provide the same kind of internal massage. But vaginally, I really liked the stimulation.
Of course, the smaller size does make it a bit more fiddly to work with when it’s inserted. I definitely recommend attaching it to whatever restraints you’re using before putting it in if possible! Although, I really appreciate the small clip that comes with this hook. It makes it so much easier to attach item that don’t have a clip and you don’t need to use a rope.

Anal Hook Without a Ball
Hooks without balls are often used for posture training in BDSM play. They are easier to insert, but there is a greater risk of internal injury due to the lower surface area of the hook putting more pressure on your anal canal. Therefore, it’s important to use hooks without balls only for more gentle types of play.

OXY No Ball Anal Hook

A surgical-grade stainless steel hook ready and waiting for ropes and restraints! Unlike most anal hooks, this one from OXY doesn’t have a bulb or ball on the end. The rounded tip is easy to insert and provides intense restraint when used with rope. The hook can also be heated or cooled for tantalizing temperature play either alone or with a partner.
Anal Hook With a Collar
The ultimate in restriction, this anal hook and collar combo will have you locked in with no way out. The collar and hook are attached by a long metal rod that will keep the wearer completely bound and is perfect for BDSM posture training.

OXY Collar to Anal - Forced Bondage Hook

Complete with a lockable collar and hook, you can choose between four ball sizes and two collar sizes. The adjustable rod that runs down the wearer’s spine attaches to the collar and anal hook and locks them into position.
This collar and hook combination is made from stainless steel, making it easy to clean, and it comes with a range of customizable options, including 4 different ball sizes.
Giant Ball Anal Hook
If you crave some serious full sensations from your anal hook, why not try a giant ball hook. This size is only recommended for advanced anal hook users.

OXY Giant Ball Anal Hook

This eye-watering anal hook with a giant ball is one for the advanced users out there that crave that stretched and full feeling. With 2.36 inches of insertable length and a 3.53-inch wide ball, you will certainly feel a satisfying stretch. The whole thing is made from surgical stainless steel, meaning it’s easy to clean and can be heated or cooled to add some extra stimulation.
Things to Consider Before Getting an Anal Hook
- What material should you use? – Anal hooks tend to be made out of stronger, more durable, and easily cleanable materials. Stainless steel anal hooks are popular because they are harsh and unforgiving while being awesome for temperature play too.
- How experienced are you? – You don’t want to jump straight in with a massive, evil looking anal hook if you’ve never experienced using one before. Start small, don’t overestimate what you can handle, and take things slow. It’s all about having fun and experiencing something new, so don’t be afraid to savor the sensations and become acclimatized to smaller anal hooks before graduating onto hooks designed for more experienced users.
- How do you plan to use it? – You can use anal hooks for a variety of things. Masturbation, solo sex adventures, fun with a partner, even fun in groups! But what you plan to do with your anal hook effects the kind of hook you should buy. If you are using it alone you want one that is more easily maneuverable and controllable than if you were to relinquish all control and allow a partner (or partners) to use it on you!
