My Verdict
I was very excited by the prospect of a gorgeous intimate accessory, but the Cleopatra Collection clit clamp didn't tick all the boxes for me. It is very tight, and the crystals, while very nice to look at, are quite large. The size of the whole thing made it pretty impossible for me to wear during penetrative sex, too. Overall, it was a fun idea, but just wasn't my cup of tea.

Personal Experience
I’m a sucker for delicate, pretty jewelry. So, when I saw this clamp from CalExotics, it was love at first sight. I umm’d and ahh’d for a while before actually ordering it, because I was a bit unsure whether it would really work for me. Through my sex toy testing experiments, I’ve confirmed that I have a sensitive clitoris. I can’t really handle intense, direct clit stimulation. However, I do really enjoy prolonged play that makes my clit extra sensitive, so I thought I could find a way to make it work for me.
Dang, That’s Tight
The first time I opened the package (once I’d marvelled at how pretty those crystals looked glinting in the sun), I tried opening the bars of the clamp and putting my finger between them to test how tight it felt. Wow, it’s really tight, and the further up I slid my finger, the worse it was. Since your clitoris is supposed to sit at the very top, I was concerned. I even tried to bend the metal a little to make it a bit looser, but to no avail. However, I’d vowed to try this thing out, so I lubed up, tried to warm up a little with a vibrator and went very slowly. It didn’t really work — I had to open it up a lot so that I didn’t hurt myself, but as soon as my clit was in the right position, the whole clamp slid right off.A Foreplay-Only Kinda Deal
I did try again after that, with less lube, and it did stay on but wasn’t comfortable. Rather than applying a nice amount of pressure to bring more bloodflow to the area and make my clit more sensitive, it felt like the blood supply was actually being cut off! I do think that this was in large part due to my own anatomy and comfort level, though. Another issue with this toy and my anatomy was the fact that it is just too long. Once it was in place, the clamp and the crystals prevented any access to my vagina, so any penetrative play was off the table. Perhaps if this toy fits you better, you may not have this problem, but for me, it really sealed the deal on it staying in the bedside drawer for the forseeable future.Design
At first glance, the Cleopatra Collection clit clamp looks really top-tier. If I was going on looks alone, this thing would be a 100/100, but the size and tightness of the clamp bars means that I have to knock off a few points. I've seen other clit clamps that have much thinner metal bars so that the pressure on the clit is lessened, which I think would have been a better choice for this product.
Ease of Use
In theory, this Cleopatra Clitoris Jewelry is quite easy to put on and take off. You simply spread the bars with your fingers and slide your clitoris up into the gap until it sits comfortably in the space at the top. If you have a small clitoris or clitoral hood, you may be able to fit the whole thing in there, but those with larger ones will have to pull it back so that only the clit sits in the clamp. Lube is a must have, but too much may cause your vulva to be too slippery and the clamp may just pop right off.
Quality
This is quite a well-made product. It's not like it's gold-plated or Swarovski crystals or anything, but the metal feels sturdy and there are no obvious construction defects. For the price, I think it's a fairly high-quality item.
Price
At under $10, the Cleopatra Collection Clitoral Jewelry is the same price or slightly cheaper than most similar clit clamps. It's not an investment, and while it didn't work for me, I truly do think that it may work much better for other vulva-owners. At this price, I wouldn't be afraid to try it out.
Performance
This didn't perform as I'd hoped, but I also knew going in there was a significant chance that it wouldn't work for me. The fact that the clamp didn't break or bend when I tried to force it may actually mean that it will perform well over time!
Packaging
This clamp comes in simple plastic clamshell packaging with a piece of CalExotics-branded cardboard in the middle. Is it stunning? No. Is it offensively ugly? Definitely not. Since I have a little drawer by my bedside for small accessories like nipple clamps, I didn't need to keep the packaging for storage, but I think it would work well if you wanted to.
Materials and care
The Cleopatra Collection Clitoris Jewelry is made from steel with a nickel-free coating and ABS plastic gems. Since it goes directly on the vulva, you will need to clean it after every use. I recommend giving it a quick rinse under water with some mild, unscented soap, but you could also give it a good wipe down with a clean, damp cloth and some soap or toy cleaner.
