Set up and Usage

Design

This harness is a standard design for the straps and fastenings, they've made it available for quite large bodied people too which I appreciate. However if you're quite slender like me it means by the time you've shortened all the straps there's a lot of excess strap dangling away, so you may want to modify them if you'd find that irritating. They've done really well with the front panel, whilst the materials are all as you'd expect for a standard harness the extra effort they've gone through to make the panel sturdy and compatible with most dildos is really evident. The extra set of poppers and velcro fastening ensure that your plug and whatever dildo/plug you've attached aren't going anywhere! The only exception being if you like using monster sized toys! This harness is compatible with extra large toys but anything beyond this (especially if it's weighty) will pull the front panel down. If you want a harness that can handle the largest of toys I'd recommend looking elsewhere. My one gripe is that the back strap is jock design and not padded support. Personally I prefer the harnesses that better support the back, not only are they more comfortable but they feel more secure. Be aware that the video for this product on the Lovehoney website is not accurate. It shows the harness having a padded back support. This harness does not have this design, it is just a thin jock strap design as shown in the photo images on the Lovehoney website.

Ease of Use

It's not complicated, it's pretty easy to use as most harnesses are. If it's your first time using a harness you may need to fiddle about a bit with placement on your waist and making the necessary adjustments so perhaps have a play around with it beforehand so this doesn't spoil the mood for your sexy session. To insert the plug attachment open the velcro and slide it in plug first, not base first. Make sure you connect to the extra set of poppers and re close the velcro opening. Gently slide your dildo onto the plug all the way until you feel it connect, double check to make sure and then you're good to go! Please note: the dildo in the images in my review is not included with this harness. It is mine and used for reference only.

Quality

I have a number of Doc Johnson products. They are all of good to high quality and I find this to be a very reliable brand. The quality for this item is standard for other harnesses on the market, its nothing fancy but it'll last and does the job required. The front panel is soft and comfortable against your body. The panel itself is good quality, however I think an extra layer of padding or a higher quality material at the back could have been added for real luxury comfort. I mean, it says 'Luxe' in the product title but I'm not quite sure where that luxury is supposed to be.

Price

The price is a little higher than your standard harness but it isn't a standard harness so it makes sense. I'd say it is worth the cost as it does as advertised and achieves what you want it to. If this is your first harness purchase I can't really see why you'd need to ever get another, unless like me you'd prefer one with better back support.

Performance

Yes this harness lived up to its expectations, in fact the front panel impressed me. I didn't think it would be quite as reliable as it is. It would be better if you could remove the O ring when you are using the vac-u-lock plug as it means you would get a tighter connection with your dildo. But unfortunately if you do this there's nothing to stop your straps from falling off the front panel. If you have some really really big monster sized dildos like I do you'll likely find that this harness struggles, especially if they are heavy. I think they'd need to have a harness with added shoulder straps to ensure the panel stayed in position and wasn't being pulled down with the weight of the toy.

Packaging

The box is pretty standard, not too tacky, it's a fairly simple design. The harness doesn't actually fit into the box with the plug attached which makes it pretty pointless unless you want to keep detaching the plug every time you store it. Mine will go straight into recycling and I'll put the harness in with the others I have.

Materials and care

This harness is listed as splash proof. It is not a submersible waterproof toy but it is easy enough to clean like most harnesses. Be aware to check for lube/fluids etc hiding in the velcro section. I've started using a powder lube recently, which is fantastic, but it get's everywhere, which means cleaning's a bitch! The harness comes with a care and usage manual. The manual states "Vac-U powder is essential to ensure easy interchangeability of attachments". Well they kept that quiet didn't they. The need for powder is not mentioned anywhere in the advertisement and there isn't any included with the harness itself. I'm not forking out extra for the powder and from what I've experienced so far it's not essential, at least not for now.
