Elbow Grease Fisting Lube Review

My Verdict
Elbow Grease is a tried and tested fan favorite lube for anal fisting. It’s unassuming packaging means you can have it around without raising any suspicion, and it’s long lasting formula means that a little goes a long way. But even though it’s a favorite for some, doesn’t mean it’s a perfect lube. The oil based lube means that it’s not compatible with most toys as well as condoms, and it’s thick, un-melting, cream base may be too much of a mess for some users. It's applicable uses seem to be set for bare handed fisting and not much else. In the end I think that Elbow Grease lube is a great addition if you are someone into fisting or who uses a lot of platinum grade silicone, but for the average anal enthusiast, I would suggest giving the Elbow Grease a pass.

Unveiling My Experience

Disclaimer
While writing this I tried doing some fact checking on what materials can be used with oil based lube, and on some general facts about oil based lube. Holy crap are there a lot of opinions about it. Some say you can’t use it with any none metal or glass based toys, some say only silicone is fine, but it has to be REAL silicone. Some people say oil based lube is fine for both internal and external use, others say oil based lube is the devil and should go nowhere near your body or it will cause cancer. At the end of the day, I don’t know who’s right and who’s wrong. What I’m going off on is that oil based lube is fine for external and internal use but make sure to check the ingredience, for toys I won’t use it on anything that isn’t platinum grade silicone, and even then I make sure to do a spot test over night to confirm. I’m not a doctor nor am I a biochemist, so take the time to verify all of this yourself.Unboxing
To be honest, I don’t have much experience with cream/oil based lubes. Considering how most of the toys I’ve used in the past have been some sort of plastic or silicone, oil based lubes are a big no-no, but now that I’m using more platinum grade silicone toys (platinum grade silicone generally works with all lubes, but it’s best to spot test first), I’ve had the opportunity to try out different oil based lube. When I first opened up the Elbow Grease container, I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but at first glance, the lube looks like something akin to moisturizer or arthritis cream, even the jar it comes in is super unassuming. Having most of my experience with water based lube, the Elbow Grease was completely new with how it handled. I’m used to either a tacky lube like Astro Glide, or something more liquid like and runny like Hello Cake or sliquid. Elbow Grease is comparable to a thick moisturizer cream that stays in one glob until you spread it around, and even then it doesn’t absorb into the skin well or melt, it mostly stays on top of the skin and just gets moved around in smaller clumps. You have to have some serious friction going for it to absorb into the skin. This wasn’t a bad thing, but it did mean I got a lot of it between my fingers, and had to make sure none of it fell off and onto the floor.Testing it out
I tested it out with the help of my member, and my MHT Handyman Plug as it was platinum grade silicone and I wouldn’t have to worry about the lube destroying the toy. For masturbation and toy based uses, Elbow Grease isn’t my favorite. When I’m choking my chicken or doing anything with anal I like my lube to be VERY slippery, and the Elbow Grease wasn’t really at the level of slick that I needed. The best way I can describe it is that the elbow grease won’t dry out and will last until you wipe it off, but the level of slipperiness is more of a medium. It’s a level of slippery where it gives a good amount of slickness, but you still feel friction, which for me isn’t the best. Also, because it doesn’t really absorb into the skin all the lube that you use is still there, just moved around and in clumps, which isn’t always the sexiest sight.Final Thoughts
In the end I like the Elbow Grease for the fact that it lasts a really long time, which should mean I would need to use less of it over all, but because I wanted a higher level of slipperiness I had to used more of it, which offset the long use time and made clean up more work. For me Elbow Grease falls somewhere in the middle, with it being long lasting, but messy and not a slick as I would like it.Breaking Down the Design

The design of the Elbow Grease lube was different than what I was expecting for both the packaging and the lube itself. For the packaging, it looked more like something you’d expect to use for cleaning or skin care, nothing on the jar implies that it’s for sex or anything risque. For the lube itself it looks like a white skin care cream and can totally be passed off as such. The only thing I didn’t like about the look of the cream was that because it was already an off white color, when I used it anally it seemed like no matter how clean I was back there the lube would always end up looking an off putting grayish brown. Aside from that though, the very discrete and utilitarian look of both the jar and lube itself meant I could just leave it out and about and it wouldn’t really raise any eyebrows.
The Elbow Grease Lube: ease of use

For the most part, the lube was easy enough to use. It being in a jar meant that I didn’t have to worry about it falling over and spilling everywhere, but I did find it a bit tricky to screw the jar lid back on with one hand. The lube itself was easy enough to apply, but there was always a bit of risk of some of it falling off my hand while I was lubing something up.
Quality Assessment

As far as lube goes, I’d say that the Elbow Grease lube is up there for quality. It doesn’t smell bad, it lasts basically until you wash it off what ever you’re using, and a little bit goes a long way. If that’s not quality, then I don’t know what is.
The Elbow Grease Lube: Balancing Quality and Cost

The price point for this lube is pretty nice considering how much use you can get out of it. A little goes a pretty long way and the jars are of decent size. With using larger toys, a jar of this size would probably last me two to three months.
The Elbow Grease Lube: Does it Deliver on Pleasure?

Performance wise the Elbow Grease worked well, but was odd. All of my experience with oil based lube comes from coconut oil. Heat it up till it’s liquid, pour it on what ever toy you’re using, liberally apply more, and over time it gets absorbed into your skin, pretty simple. With Elbow Grease, it starts off as a heavy thick cream, and stays that way. It doesn’t melt or absorb into the skin well, which is great if you’re using big toys or fisting as the lube stays slippery for ages, but that also means it’s very messy and kind of gross at some points. All that aside, as far as keeping things slippery, the Elbow Grease does the job, once you get enough of it on something, it stays slick and slippery till you clean it off, it doesn’t seem to dry out.
Evaluating the Elbow Grease Lube’s packaging

The jar the Elbow Grease lube comes in is the most unassuming lube container I’ve ever seen. Even if you read the whole container front to back, it would be hard to think of it as anything other than massage cream (what it’s labeled as), and if you just gave it a quick once over chances are you’d think it’s arthritis cream or something of that nature. Aside from not giving anything away as to what it actually is, the packaging is fine aside that it doesn’t have the ingredience listed on it, and the screw on lid can pose a tricky step if you have one hand covered in lube.
Evaluating the Elbow Grease Lube: Materials and Care

The lube is an oil based cream so care should be taken to not use it around condoms or any plastic or latex toys. It should also be noted that this cream WILL stain your sheets, so make sure to have a towel ready. For clean up all you need to do is wash it off with soap and water.
