My Experience With Sliquid Sassy

Having already tested and reviewed Sliquid H2O, their regular lube offering, I was excited to try out Sliquid Sassy, too. I don’t engage in a ton of anal play, but I do enjoy it occasionally, and really wanted to get some lube that was especially designed for it.
Not Quite What I Expected
On their website, Sliquid state that their Sassy anal lube is a similar formula to their H2O lube, but has a “thicker viscosity” and “a dense, gel-like consistency”. This is not quite the impression that I got from it. It is a little thicker than the H2O, but it’s nowhere near as gel-like as other lubes I’ve tried, which weren’t even anal lubes! I really prefer a very thick gel lube, especially for anal play, as it’s easier to control where it goes, and feels like it lasts longer. How It Performed
I did try out the Sliquid Sassy lube, however, and found myself relatively satisfied with how it performed. Not amazed, but not overly disappointed either. Most of my anal play involves using a butt plug, like the nJoy Pure Plug, and Sliquid Sassy did exactly what I needed by making the plugs smooth and easy to insert without discomfort. We did try it once during anal sex, where it wasn’t so good, as it dried out quite quickly with the extra friction involved. Of course, we just added more and kept going, but I was less than impressed by it.

Design

The bottle of the Sliquid Sassy anal lube has a fairly standard design, but I do wish that it was a bit different. The label is nicely neutral and not overtly sexual, which is great if it's going to sit out in view. However, the bottle has what's called a disc top cap, where you press down one side to reveal a small dispensing slot. I don't love this design, especially when the bottle is also not that flexible, but it works fine.
Ease of Use

As far as anal lube goes, the Sliquid Sassy lube is not the easiest one to use that I've tried. It's much less viscous than I expected it to be, and runs more than I would like. That does make it easier to dispense, but it can also get everywhere, especially if you don't close the lid properly. Since it's water-based, it won't stain your sheets, but it does dry out faster than other silicone- or oil-based anal lubes.
Quality

Sliquid Sassy is certainly a high quality lube, and a lot of thought has gone into its development. They've provided a lot of details about its formulation and the manufacturing process, and you know exactly which ingredients are inside. I would say that Sliquid is a super trustworthy lubricant brand.
Price

There are a huge range of prices out there when it comes to anal lubes, and Sliquid Sassy is definitely on the lower end of the spectrum. It's not the cheapest anal lube available, but, because it's water-based, it's very affordable when compared to other silicone-based anal lubes. You'll also get the best value for money if you buy the 8.5 fl. oz bottle, though I got the 4.2 fl. oz version, and there is an even smaller and cheaper 2 fl oz. bottle available.
Performance

While I was a bit disappointed in the consistency of the Sliquid Sassy anal lube, it still performed fairly well for what it was supposed to do! I mostly used it with a butt plug, and it made the plugs smooth and easy to insert. However, when we used it during anal sex, it did dry out quite quickly, as there was more movement and friction involved.
Packaging

A bottle of Sliquid Sassy anal lube doesn't come with any extra packaging, which is no problem for me. It has the same design as the other Sliquid Naturals lubes, and is pretty discreet and non-sexual. I'm also not sure why they went with pink for anal lube, but it's not my favorite.
Materials and care

Sliquid Sassy is a water-based formula with plant-based ingredients. It's made of mainly of purified water and plant cellulose from cotton, and it's 100% vegan-friendly, glycerine-free and compatible with all sex toy materials. It didn't stain my bedsheets or clothes, which I'm grateful for, and it was very easy to wash off with some water and mild soap.

Conclusion
I think Sliquid's Sassy anal lube has pros and cons, but is overall a good quality lube that's ideal for those with sensitive genitals. If you are happy to use a less-viscous anal lube, then it will be pretty perfect for you! However, if you prefer something thicker and more gel-like (like me), then you may be better going for a different lube. Sliquid do also make another water-based anal lube that is supposed to be much thicker, and I look forward to trying that one out in the future!
