Tenga Hole Lotion Lube Review
My Verdict
In conclusion, this lube really isn't one of my favourites - It is certainly one of the thickest on the market, which for me felt unnatural and false. on the other hand, I think this lube would be good for large anal toys, as it would provide a comfortable extra layer. I would recommend it more towards penis owners, as the nozzle helps with aiming the lube into a sex toy, like strokers or personal masturbators. I am typically a large bottle lover, but this one is just too big! I liked the fact it is water based, so that I can use it with any sex toy material, but for me I can't find many positives. It isn't a bad lube, it just isn't the lube for me.

This lube is thick and coating, which is great for anal or vigorous sex, with a partner or even the largest of toys. The bottle is large, with a stylish red design and the nozzle is long and thin, which makes it easy to aim the lube onto specific areas of the body or toy. This lube has a pH reading of 8, making it an alkali lube. It is not FDA approved and it does contain glycerin.

Design
I like the packaging of this lube, because it doesn't necessarily look like a traditional lube. I like it when toys and lubes are discrete, as I am not much of an exhibitionist myself. The red colouring and wording is very on brand for Tenga and I like the design of being able to see the lube in the bottle. The design is quite futuristic and modern, as the bottle looks quite art deco! I like it! Despite recommending this lube more to penis owners, I think this bottle is gender neutral - It has a cool design that I think would appeal to all. The branding of 'Hole lotion' is the only thing that I dislike - For me, I prefer a lube that states. that it is a sexual lubricant, as 'hole lotion' is a little cheap and sleazy to me.
Ease of Use
All water based lubes work with any condom type and any sex toy material. Typically I find water based lubes easy to wash off the skin, but this lube was an exception. Because it was so thick, it created a layer on top of the skin, so it took a couple of washes to feel as if it was fully washed off. It was the same when washing it off a sex toy as it created a thick seal around it. Despite how thick the Tenga hole lotion is, it didn't become tacky. When I first squeezed it out of the bottle, it was stringy and looked very sticky, but when I used it with my partner, it remained slippery the whole time! It really surprised me!
Quality
If you are a vulva owner that is susceptible to infections, then maybe this lube isn't the best match for you, as it contains glycerin, a type of sugar that often promotes bacterial growth. If found in lube, it can sometimes increase the chances of bacterial growth in the vagina. This lube isn't FDA approved which i typically like, as I want to know if it is safe enough to put in my body. In this case, I am not that fussed as it isn't a flavoured lube, of which is more likely to be ingested orally. The ingredients in this lube are Aqua, Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Polyacrylate, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, and Polysorbate 80.
Price
This lube is very reasonably priced, even going as far to say that it is quite cheap! Sure, it doesn't have many special features like tingling or warming, but it does have the advantage of the easy use bottle. I think this lube is a good option to have in your bedside draw, because if you buy it and don't like it, it didn't break the bank.
Performance
This lube is designed to be paired with strokers or male masturbators, so its longevity is very high. When used, it is a very slimy lube that doesn't become sticky or tacky. Yet, it is very thick, so it creates a complete seal around the skin or inside the stroker. When squeezed out of the bottle, this lube looks like hot glue! It is a very thick paste that slowly runs out of the bottle and becomes stringy. I really didn't like this consistency as it doesn't feel very natural for sex, but I would recommend it for anal, to provide extra cushioning and comfort. I would perhaps recommend this for first time anal, as I always find the thicker the lube, the more comfortable anal sex is.
Compatibility
The Tenga bottle has both pros and cons. Its pros: it is a large bottle that holds a lot of lube, so it is better value for money. It is made of thinner plastic which is easy to squeeze, and the long, thin nozzle helps with aiming the lube. Tenga sell a lot of strokers, so this nozzle is perfect for aiming the lube all over the toy. The cons; I don't like how large it is! I often like taller bottles as I feel like I am getting more product for my buck, but this one is just too big. When holding the bottle, the weight is quite unbalanced, so the lid pops off when you hold it! I don't think this would be great when travelling, as I would be worried that it will open and spill.
Stain Test
When this lube interacted with with fabric, it firstly sat on top of the cotton, but then managed to seep through it. It made the fabric very wet, but once it was washed, it didn't leave any discolouration.
