Sliquid Silk Hybrid Lube – Test & Review
My Verdict
For someone who doesn't typically like silicone lubes, this hybrid lube was great! It felt soft and smooth on the skin, as well as long lasting and conditioning. I liked the design of the bottle; it is fun and a cute colour. I am not typically a fan of the Sliquid brand, as I often find the bottles are made of hard plastic that are difficult to squeeze. Otherwise, the product inside the bottle is great! I don't have many hybrid lubes, as I prefer having water-based lubes, but this lube surprised me! It is thick enough to be compatible with large sex toys, as well as a good quality product - I will say that I didn't like the fact it looked like thick milk, but if I close my eyes then I like it!

About The Sliquid Silk Hybrid Lube
Sliquid Silk is a hybrid lube, meaning that it is made partly from water and partly from silicone. This lube can be used with latex condoms, as well as glass, metal and platinum cured silicone sex toys. The bottle is made of hard plastic, but it is small enough to fit in one hand. It has a click-close lid, which is my favourite, as I hate when lube bottles have a screw lid - they are too difficult to unscrew when I have lubed up hands! Sliquid Silk has an acidic pH of 5, which is great for people with vulvas, as it reduces the risk of infection and interfering with the body's natural pH level. Despite this lube being white in colour, it doesn't stain the bed sheets, but you can see it when it is on the skin.
Pros
- ✅Thick and cushioning
- ✅Can be used with more sex toys than a silicone lube
Cons
- ❌Not a translucent lube
- ❌Hard to squeeze bottle

Design
Sliquid are known for their colourful bottles and pretty designs. This bottle is no exception - the purple colour and clear writing makes it appealing to the eye and the transparent bottle, showing the white lube, is nice to look at. I have said it before, but the Sliquid bottles are slightly gender aimed more towards women. I wouldn't say it is the most gender neutral bottle or design, but I don't think that is a game changer, as the bottle design isn't a huge selling point for me, I always shop for the product inside. I wouldn't say it is the highest quality looking bottle, but then again the price tag also reflects that.
Ease of Use
Sliquid Silk has a thick, milk coloured consistency that is slow pouring and coating on the skin. As it is a hybrid lube, this means that it is a combination of water and silicone. Compared to water based lubes, it is harder to wash off the skin and took me a good couple of times for it to feel fully washed off. I really don't like lube that feels as if it hasn't been washed off the skin properly and remains on the surface. This lube is compatible with platinum cured silicon sex toys, despite it containing silicone. It is also compatible with rubber and latex condoms. It is quite long lasting and doesn't need much reapplication for it to remain slippery.
Quality
This lube is aimed towards vulva owners, as it contains ingredients that are neutral and less likely to cause vaginal infections. Sliquid Silk also contains no parabens or glycerol, furthering how good it is for vulva owners - I love when there is a low chance of getting an infection! This doesn't mean that this lube wouldn't be good for penis owners, I think it would be a good match for everyone! This lube is also compatible with platinum cured silicone sex toys.
Price
Lubes with silicone in them are typically more expensive than water based lubes, so I was expecting this hybrid lube to be quite expensive. It was the opposite! it is a very affordable lube - Some could say that it is an appropriate price as it is a small bottle. Based on it being a high quality product, I think this lube is reasonably priced, as well as most of the other Sliquid lubes. Sliquid advertise themselves as being natural and aimed toward women; a brand that is conscious about the ingredients that they use.
Performance
This lube is quite thick, and certainly seals a sex toy, even a large one! I would definitely recommend using this lube with a sex toy, even anal toys, as it is thick enough to be cushioning and comfortable. This hybrid lube contains some silicone, so you need to check if your hybrid lube is compatible with your sex toy - you can use this lube with metal, glass and platinum cured silicone sex toys. It is quite wet when first used on the skin, but I wouldn't say it is has the longest longevity without reapplication. If you don't mind re-applying your lube, then this would be great, but I don't like having to think about lube when I use it, so this was quite annoying for me.
Compatibility
I have expressed before and still hold the same opinion; I don't like the Sliquid bottles! In my opinion, they are too small and hard to squeeze, as they are made out of this plastic! When my hands have lube on them, I like a bottle that I can squeeze easily and not struggle with. With the Sliquid bottles, I have to use both hands to get a single drop out! It's a nightmare! I also love bottles that are larger because to me, it feels like I am getting more for my money!
Stain Test
Despite this lube not being translucent, it doesn't stain the bed sheets. If anything, it blended in with the white fabric! You can see I when it is on the skin, and in my opinion, it really put me off! Seeing it on my skin made me feel a little weird... I like translucent lubes I think!
