Sliquid Sensations Lube Review
My Verdict
We all know by now that I am not Sliquids' number one fan, but this lube was okay. The Sliquid Sensations is thick but didn’t feel tacky, and felt a good quality lube that worked well with my silicone sex toy. It felt like it would last a long time without needing re-application. Unfortunately, Sliquids' packaging and I just aren’t friends. I think their plastic bottle are too hard and made of too thick plastic, making it hard to squeeze and actually get the lube out... and that’s with non-lubed-up hands! This lube states that it has temperature features and feels tingly on the skin, yet these features were not as noticeable as I had hoped. The wording is therefor misleading and partially untrue. If I'm honest, it didn’t turn me on that much…!

Design
All the Sliquid bottles have the same design, their only differences being the colours, names and features. I like the way they all look similar, it makes it feel more consistent and professional. I think the packaging is appealing to the eye and I like the lotus flower on the front. This lube is aimed at women, made by women. I would say this is definitely a more feminine looking lube, compared the the Sliquid silver, which I thought looked sleeker and more masculine. The flower design with the soft colours looks pretty and makes the product look more luxurious.
Ease of Use
For a reasonably thick lube, it was very easy to wash off the skin. Water-based lubes tend to be easier to wash off than silicone lubes, therefore I wouldn't recommend using them in water. The Sliquid Sensations is compatible with all condom materials and sex toy materials, making it perfect for everything! I thought this lube worked particularly well with a silicone dildo, as it was thick enough to create a seal around the toy, yet it didn’t become tacky and uncomfortable. I am not a fan of lubes that become tacky, as I find they create more friction and therefor become uncomfortable and noticeable during sex.
Quality
This lube is FDA complaint, meaning that it includes ingredients that have been approved by the FDA, but the product itself hasn't been approved. Yet this lube is organic, meaning that it uses organic ingredients that are 100% natural. The pH of this lube is the most acidic one that I tested. It has a pH reading of 5, meaning that it is more acidic than alkali. The natural pH of a vagina is very acidic, so the closer the match between the lube and vagina, the better. This is a great reading for a female targeted product, as it reduces the risks of getting an infection or imbalance of pH. This lube includes these ingredients: Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Organic Agar, Organic Peppermint Oil, Natural Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Organic Menthol, Organic Guar Gum, Organic Hibiscus Extract, Organic Flax Extract, Organic Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Extract.
Price
For a lube that uses organic ingredients, and that also has a special feature, it is very reasonably priced. Water-based lubes tend to be cheaper than silicone lubes, but this lube is very reasonable for what it is offering.
Performance
This lube was reasonably thick - it has a paste-like feel that still managed to feel natural. When using it with a sex toy, it created a seal around the toy, that felt like it was going to last a decent amount of time. Usually for a water-based lube, I am hesitant as they don't usually last as long as silicone lubes. Yet this lube felt thick enough to last without having to re-apply. When dropping this lube off a spoon, it fell slowly, showing that it has a higher viscosity and shows that it will stay on the skin longer. If you wanted a thick lube that is very waterproof, I would recommend the ID Millenium silicone lube.
Compatibility
I have been vocal about not liking Sliquid bottles before and this was no exception. I think the plastic bottle is made of too thick plastic, that is too hard to squeeze. When I have lube on my hands, the bottle is slipping and sliding everywhere. It is a small bottle, which means that it is easier to hold in one hadn’t, yet if you had bad motor skills in your hands, then good luck, this lube isn’t coming out anytime soon. The only good part about the packaging is that it doesn’t have a screw lid, like the Pjur lubes, but a click-close lid. This makes it easier for the lube to come out on its own, as it certainly didn't come out easily when i attempted to squeeze the bottle!
Stain Test
This lube didn’t stain my cotton bed sheets and dried see-through. Once it has been washed, it left no discolouration or stain on the sheets. I also really like lubes that are translucent on the skin, instead of a coloured lube, as I think it looks more realistic.
Special feature
Sliquid lubes are aimed towards women, with the ingredients being natural and always free from glycerol. This Sensations lube states that it is designed to heighten sensation and provide a deep, pleasurable feeling during use. This stimulating formula goes onto the skin cool and warms up, caused by friction. I wouldn’t say these features were very noticeable; it didn’t feel very cold when initially on the skin, and definitely didn’t warm up as hot as some other sensation lubes. If you wanted a more noticeable and intense warming lube, then I would recommend the Intimate Earth Horny Goat Weed lube.
