Design

The FirmTech TechRing has a simple yet high-quality design. It doesn’t scream luxury, but the materials feel premium — soft, elastic, and very comfortable. I think it strikes a great balance between looking modern and sleek without overcomplicating things. The only button available is easy to find and the use of the hook is very intuitive. For something with such a “simple” design, it works remarkably well. As I mentioned, it felt fantastic when worn, and it might just be the best-feeling ring I’ve ever used.

Ease of Use

The FirmTech TechRing is incredibly easy to use and feels intuitive right from the start. Compared to other rings I’ve tried, this one is by far the easiest to put on and take off. The single button is easy to spot, and pressing and holding it is simple. Once you get the hang of the light signals, they’re easy to understand, and connecting to the app is a breeze. Uploading data is just as smooth, the app takes care of all of that. For users with grip issues, there might be a bit of difficulty pressing the button or hooking the loop, but I presume it would be manageable. There’s a slight learning curve at first, but after a few uses, everything feels straightforward.

Quality

The FirmTech TechRing is of great quality overall. However, I’ve noticed some early signs of wear on the elastomer, and it seems likely I’ll need to buy a replacement down the road. Even though they warn not to overstretch the elastomer, I’ve only stretched it as needed, and it’s still showing some wear. That said, I still think the quality is solid. The elastomer feels sturdy and acts as a protective case for the monitor, absorbing light impact. The plastic used for the monitor itself feels like medium-to-low quality, but since it’s protected by the elastomer, it doesn’t need to be super tough. There’s absolutely no sound that comes from the ring, so there is nothing to worry about on that front. Overall, I’d say it’s a high-quality toy, which is reassuring given the higher price tag.

Price

The FirmTech TechRing is definitely a high-quality toy with a unique tracking feature I haven’t seen in any other ring before. It’s simple to use, feels fantastic, and delivers a great experience overall. However, aside from the ring and the charger, nothing extra comes in the box, which makes the high price tag stand out a bit more. If you’re interested in the data it provides and want to learn more about your sexual health, I’d say the price is worth it. But if you’re not particularly interested in the tracking feature, it might not be worth the higher cost, even though it’s one of the best feeling rings I’ve used.

Performance

The FirmTech TechRing somewhat lived up to its online promises. It definitely gathered data on my performance, but figuring out that data wasn’t as straightforward as I had hoped, and I had to do some fine-tuning to get results that made sense to me. In terms of feel, it was amazing during solo play. It also felt good with a partner, though it was a bit less noticeable in that scenario since there are other stimuli happening. There are no vibrations or sounds from this ring, so this toy is completely discreet. The ring did get a bit warm while charging, but I didn’t notice any heat during use. The battery life was solid, lasting through multiple sessions before needing a recharge. However, the recharge speed was on the slower side. Overall, it performed well but with a few areas that could use refinement.

For the essentials, though, the instructions provided are enough to get you started.

Materials and care

The FirmTech TechRing is made from body-safe materials, being both phthalate and latex-free, which is a great plus. It’s very light and seems to be of high quality overall. While the product is labeled as water-resistant, I did have a small issue with the first one they sent after cleaning it. Because of this, I highly recommend removing the monitor piece before cleaning or exposing it to water. It doesn’t come with a storage bag, which is a bit of a downside, but it does wrap around the charger nicely and can be kept there for storage. They’re very responsive and can help you gain deeper insights into what the data means, which adds to the value of this feature.
