Your labia might fall in love, but sadly, mine did not. Frisky's Oral Enhancing Labia Spreader is an affordable novel toy designed to spread apart the user's labia for better oral sex (or any clitoral stimulation, really). This toy features a bendable metal rod covered in smooth beaded silicone making it flexible and easy to clean. The concept of this toy is great! While marketed to be used while receiving oral sex, one could also use this toy to get better access to stimulate the clitoris with fingers or a toy. Personal Experience
I Wanted To Love It
I was stoked to be receiving this toy as someone who has a very fleshy outer labia. During oral sex my parter or I always needs to spread open my labia for better access to my clitoris and I thought this could be the perfect answer… Unfortunately, it was not. However, it could work for you! Keep reading and I’ll go over some anatomy, my experience, and who I think this could be a good fit for.What Is Labia Anyway?
To better understand how this toy works (and didn’t work for me), let’s chat about what the labia even is. Most vaginas have a labia minora and labia majora. The labia minora are what are commonly referred to as “lips”, “pussy/vaginal lips”, or “inner labia” in the media. The labia minora are the lips that start at the clitoris and extend to the vaginal opening. The labia minora can look vastly different for each vulva owner, ranging in colour, size, and symmetry. Then, there’s the labia majora. The labia majora or “outer labia” is the larger fleshy folds of skin that cover the outer vagina. Some people have very fleshy and movable labia majora whereas others do not. The reason anatomy matters is because I think how effective this toy will be for you will be based on the size of your labia.My Experience
I tried on numerous occasions to love this toy, but sadly, it was not built for me. To start, inserting the toy is awkward and a tad painful as you need to get the ~inch wide beaded base into the vagina. Because the rod is a beaded “U” shape, I found the two arms would sometimes pinch my labia minora when being inserted. The rod is very flexible which helps to customize how far apart you spread the arms, but because it is so flexible, I found it didn’t hold my labia majora open very well. I wanted the arms to lay parallel against my outer labia to expose my clitoris, but what ended up happening is I had to completely extend the arms out to the side so they were like a tension rod holding my outer labia open. Not very comfy, and not very ideal. The best way to explain my experience was the labia spreader acted like tent poles that created a little canopy around my clitoris. Typically my clitoris is fully covered by my outer labia, but this toy reduced that to about 50%. I would describe myself as having very fleshy labia majora, but very small labia minora, and this toy was not ideal for me. I feel this labia spreader would best be suited for people with a less fleshy outer labia, and moderate to small inner lips. My personal assumption is that people with more fleshy outer labia are who would gravitate most to this toy, so it’s a shame it wasn’t effective for someone with this anatomy.Design
The design of this toy is extremely basic. When holding this toy in your hand it is very light, easily bendable, and cheap. This "U" shaped labia spreader is a silicone covered bendable rod designed to be inserted into the vagina with arms that spread the labia open. The flimsy arms do not stay firmly in place therefore not effectively spreading my labia — this toy could not perform the one job it has. The design of this toy did not work for my anatomy but would likely perform better on folks with smaller labia overall.
Ease of Use
For such a basic toy, this is surprisingly difficult to use. As someone who is no stranger to vaginal penetration this was still super awkward to insert. This would not be enjoyable for anyone who experiences pain with vaginal penetration at all. This toy also takes trial and error with how you position the arms to effectively spread your labia. The rod is very bendable which is good in theory, however, I found the arms would not stay positioned in place to keep my labia open enough for full clitoral access. Overall I found it difficult to insert, hard to maneuver, and had less than ideal results. Definitely use lots of lube to help make insertion more comfortable!
Quality
The Oral Enhancing Labia Spreader is cheap to purchase, but unfortunately feels cheap too. This toy is easy to bend but consequently easy to bend out of shape. The outer silicone feels nice, but is very thin, and can be rotated around the internal rod. The main purpose of this toy is to hold the labia open yet the design is not sturdy enough to maintain its positioning. I do not believe it would be able to maintain its structural integrity over time.
Price
This toy is relatively cheap which aligns well with its basic design and packaging. If you are unsure if this toy would work for your anatomy but want to try it anyway, it is a big benefit that it fairly affordable.
Performance
Overall, I was fairly disappointed with the performance of the Oral Enhancing Labia Spreader. As the name suggests, the main purpose of this toy is to spread the user's labia... which it did not effectively do for me. Labias come in so many shapes and sizes, so why was this toy not designed to work for them all? I remain perplexed as the need for a labia spreader would imply it's user has a moderate to large labia, yet this toy is not firm enough to keep a moderate labia spread apart.

The packaging is very simple yet descriptive. The Oral Enhancing Labia Spreader comes in a size appropriate cardboard box. The back of the box lists the dimensions, materials, and gives two diagrams to demonstrate how it is to be inserted and used.
Materials and care
The Oral Enhancing Labia Spreader has a smooth purple silicone exterior with a metal bendable rod inside. The silicone is non-porous making it safe to use in water and easy to clean with mild soap or your favourite toy cleaner. It is very light and bendable. As such, I do question its long term durability.
