We-Vibe Melt Review
My Verdict
In the end, judging the We-Vibe Melt turned out to be pretty difficult for me. Still, my main mission here is to give you an objective review based both on my personal experiences with the product as well as my expertise on sex toys and sexual wellness. Did it feel good? Yes! The We-Vibe Melt got me there every time I used it with its powerful and unique stimulation abilities. It was actually a nice change of pace to take things slowly and build-up to a soft yet great-feeling climax, rather than going in for the kill with a high-speed vibrator. And the piece of kit itself is incredibly well-made and high quality – a really special thing to have in your nightstand. Were there things that made it disappointing? Also yes. Using the We-Vibe Melt with the We-Connect app was a thoroughly frustrating experience and not one that I’d like to replicate in a hurry. Additionally, if it had worked as promised, I’m still not sure that I would make use of the remote control options. Controlling the intensity or patterns of my toys is something I feel that only I can do with any great success – my boyfriend is great in many ways but he doesn’t know what’s going on inside me at each exact moment. Do I think the We-Vibe Melt is worth buying? Yeah, it could potentially be a great companion for some clitoris-owners. If you love clitoral stimulation and/or dislike vibrations, the Melt could work like a dream. It’s still a fantastic clit sucker option, and I would recommend checking it out further and seeing if it could be for you.

Personal Experience
I went into this testing experience of the We-Vibe Melt with a bunch of excitement and anticipation for a high-tech, high-performance sex toy. I’d never managed to get my hands on an app-controlled toy before, and I was ready to be blown away by the sheer futuristic-ness of it all! I mean, a sex toy with Bluetooth?! What a time to be alive. There was just one thing that dampened my excitement a little, and that was that the We-Vibe Melt is a clit sucking toy. I know, I know, they’re beloved by women everywhere and a godsend for those who need some good clitoral stimulation to orgasm, but I just haven’t had any amazing experiences with them. I already own a Satisfyer Pro 2, and I don’t hate it, but it’s just never been my go-to toy either for solo sessions or with my boyfriend. It’s something about the more direct clit contact paired with the lack of vibrations that I haven’t been able to get on board with. But, with all that being said, I wanted to go into this with an open mind! Perhaps the We-Vibe Melt would blow me away with its ergonomic design and clit sucking technology and I’d become a true convert…
Using the We-Vibe Melt
Once I’d done all the necessary prep and lubed up sufficiently, I got down the real testing phase. And… it was a mixed bag. There were some parts I loved. The shape and size of the ‘mouth’ was totally different to what I was used to, and it felt great! The smaller, oval-shape enclosed my clit almost perfectly, which meant I could really feel the air pulses and suction. I didn’t really get the feeling of it imitating oral sex, as some claim it to, but that wasn’t necessarily a negative. It was its own sensation! Because of the close contact it was making with my clit, the feeling was intense. I had to go slowly and build-up the intensity level, but I didn’t make it more than about half-way up before the big O happened. It was efficient in that way, but in reality it was more of a game of trying not to get too overwhelmed. In the end, the orgasm it gave me was nice, but it wasn’t mind-blowing. There was just too much back and forth involved and it ended up being a quite abrupt but subtle ending. I understand that might seem like a bit of an oxymoron, but I feel that the lack of vibrations meant that I couldn’t build-up to an orgasm the way that I’m used to.And Then Came the App…
Of course, the We-Vibe Melt’s biggest selling point is that it can be app-controlled. I’d heard about the We-Connect app before, and all of the wonderful things that you can do with it, from creating your own vibration patterns to syncing your toy to music! So, you can probably imagine that I was pumped to give it a spin. In the box were simple instructions on how to pair the Melt with your phone, which were easy and quick to follow – just download the app and press and hold a button and you’re basically there. There was no tutorial on how to actually use the app once you’re in, however, and that’s when my problems began. I started off by moving the intensity level up and down, which felt smooth and easy. So far, so good. Then I moved on to trying to create some patterns. It seemed easy – go to ‘My Vibes’ and ‘Create Your Own Vibe’. I made one, but when I tried to use it I realised that it wasn’t doing anything. Then I tried again, only to find that that function had disappeared completely! After their help center turned up nothing, I did some Googling to find out that most of the cool things the We-Connect app promises? Only available for vibrating We-Vibe toys. What a bummer. But it didn’t end there. Having accepted my lot of only controlling the intensity levels remotely, I suddenly couldn’t even do that! The Melt disconnected, and I had to go into my phone’s Bluetooth settings to reconfigure it. While I did get it going again, I was starting to really dislike the whole experience. But this was a thorough review, and there was one thing left to test: controlling the Melt over wifi. I commandeered my boyfriend’s phone and installed the We-Connect app, then invited him to connect with me. The process was not intuitive at all, and took a lot of back and forth and a bit of random pressing to figure out. Then I handed him the reins and let him see what was what. As well as being able to control the intensity levels from the other side of our apartment, he could also message, voice call and video call me. All of these features seemed to work fine when we were connected, but we experienced occasional connection-losses on both his end and mine. Not quite the sexy and romantic experience we were hoping for – I’d rather just use it the old-fashioned way.Design
I'm a fan of the simplistic design of the We-Vibe Melt. The silicone-all-over body feels nice to hold and keeps the look unintimidating. The shape of it is also very ergonomically designed. I'd heard before I received the Melt that the opening is smaller than other clit suckers, but it turned out to be the perfect size and shape for me – the rounder opening enclosed my clit almost perfectly, which felt pretty satisfying given my experiences with other similar toys. At the bottom of the toy is a magnetic charging connector, which is not my favorite. It doesn't really snap together, so it feels a little flimsy and could disconnect easily if you moved it too much.
Ease of Use
Ignoring the app for a moment, the We-Vibe Melt was super easy to get going and use. Once it was out of the box, all I had to do was give it a quick clean, charge it up and it was ready to play. The interface is incredibly simple: press the + button to start it and increase the intensity, press the - button to decrease and hold it to turn it off. The simplicity is easy to remember and the button divots help you find the buttons easily, both great for when it's down out of sight. While the Melt is not an overly heavy toy, I imagine it could get a little tiring to hold for extended periods of time, especially for those with mobility issues.
Quality
The We-Vibe Melt feels as high-quality as they come. The all-over silicone is totally body-safe and feels nice against the skin (though it's not quite as soft and velvety as other silicone toys like the Lelo Soraya 2). This toy felt sturdy and solid, with no rattling, even when I shook it particularly vigorously! As I mentioned above, I had mixed feelings about the app. It, too, felt well-made, with no real bugs or crashes, but its functionality was limited and I was left a little unsatisfied by it.
Price
It's difficult to judge whether a product is worth it's price tag when you wouldn't necessarily consider buying it yourself, but that's part of my job, so I'll do my darnedest. The We-Vibe Melt is certainly not the most expensive sex toy on the market, but it is in the luxury sex toy price range. I would say that if you really love air pulse clit stimulators, this one is one of the best of the bunch, and could be well-worth the money. Likewise, if you're really attracted to the idea of worldwide remote control capabilities, then go ahead and invest in the Melt! But just be sure to read my thoughts on the app above before you take the plunge.
Performance
I'll preface this section with a little note that I'm not in love with clit suckers in general. I like vibrations and don't tend to get the most intense orgasms without them. But, I'm not totally immune to their allure! This toy did feel good! I started on the lowest setting and increased slowly, so the effect was subtle and took a while to get there. I couldn't really manage any other way because it was just too intense! In fact, I don't think I ever managed more than half-way through the 12 intensity levels. When using it with the app, I didn't experience any cut-outs mid-session, which was a plus, but the lack of patterns or modes really let it down for me.
Packaging
The We-Vibe Melt comes in some very pretty packaging. The box has a magnetic closure and a matte finish in pastel shades that just oozes that luxury sex toy vibe. It does have a big picture of the toy on the front though, and an illustration of a naked woman on the back, so not overly discreet. Inside is the toy, a magnetic USB charging cable (but no plug), a storage bag, a small packet of lube and some very basic instructions on how to connect to the app. I would've liked some instructions or guidelines on how to use the app and what it could do, but instead I have to find out on my own.
Materials and care
The body of the We-Vibe Melt is 100% body-safe silicone that both feels nice against your skin and also makes the toy easy to grip and hold. It is also completely waterproof, meaning you can use it in the shower or bath for a different-feeling experience, and also clean it easily. The one thing that concerned me is that there are no removable parts around the head or opening, which I thought could make it harder to really clean thoroughly. So far, that hasn't been an issue, but it could be something to watch out for.
Special feature
We-Vibe’s Pleasure Air technology is some of the best air pulse, clit sucking technology out there, and there’s no denying that it feels really great. Unlike a lot of its contemporaries, it creates very intense and pleasurable sensations whilst remaining surprisingly quiet and discreet. The other big selling point of the We-Vibe Melt is, of course, the remote control features afforded by their app. I’ve already talked about my issues with it at length, but the bottom line is that it does allow couples to connect in a pretty unique way.
