BedBible Exclusive: DIY Spanking Paddle from a Paddle Ball Game

Remember the paddle ball game from childhood? You know, smacking the little rubber ball tethered to a wooden paddle with a thin piece of elastic string. That is, until, ultimately, the string breaks and we then use the paddle to smack our siblings and friends. Well, now you can create a homemade spanking paddle using this old school child’s toy.

Paddle Ball DIY Spanking Paddle Supplies

Supplies Needed:

  • 1-3 paddle ball games (depending on material and thickness)
  • Hot glue or a strong, multi-purpose glue like Gorilla brand
  • Decorative or regular duct tape
  • Small piece of sand paper
  • Craft foam, rubber or silicone (optional)
  • Drill (optional)
  • Thick string, cordage or rope (optional)
  • Large, flat-bottomed jewels, studs or embellishments (optional)

Step 1:

First, remove the string and balls from each paddle ball game. Be sure there is no staple. If so, make sure to remove the staple too.

Step 2:

Next, roughen the surface of the center paddle ball, on both sides, using sandpaper. Be sure and sand only a single side of the remaining two paddle balls. This allows the glue to grip better. If you like the design on the paddles, keep the design side as is, while using the sandpaper on the opposite side. That way, once it’s glued together, it won’t be necessary to apply tape for aesthetic purposes.

Step 3:

Next, apply either hot glue or a multi-purpose, household glue to the sides of the paddle balls you just sanded. Be sure and get the edges too, so it will hold together and look like a single, thicker paddle.

Step 4:

Now, line up the center paddle and place it on top of the glue. Then repeat the process with the third paddle. Allow to dry thoroughly. You may also apply clamps, while drying, to ensure that the paddles dry evenly and tight.

Step 5:

If you like the look of the spanking paddle, you can stop here! You now have a DIY spanking paddle that’s thick, attractive and can issue a bit of pain on someone’s bottom. However, if you prefer a more BDSM look, go to the next steps for more customization ideas.

Step 6

Now, take your duct tape, or decorative tape and begin covering the paddle. Be sure and cover the handle, sides and top completely. Keep in mind, this may require you to apply the tape in a different pattern and direction. Also, trim edges or cut slits in the tape that overhangs the edges. This allows the tape to lie flat.

Once you have finished taping, it will look something like this.

Step 7:

Trace the paddle on a piece of craft foam, silicone or rubber, using a marker.

Step 8:

Next, choose a shape and draw it within the tracing of the paddle. As you can see, I decided to draw a heart. Keep in mind, the material on the paddle will add a different sensation to spanking play.

Step 9:

Cut out whatever shape you chose.

Step 10:

Next, glue the shape to one side of the homemade spanking paddle. If you choose, you can cut another shape for the opposite side of the paddle. Or, change it up so your DIY BDSM spanking paddle with have various thrilling sensations, depending on which side you decide to use.

Step 11:

Now, using studs, grommets or crystals (whatever you choose), glue them to the opposite side of the paddle.

Step 12:

For the final step, we are going to make a wrist strap to keep your spanking paddle close by, That way, you can use your hands for other things! First, create a loop, large enough to easily slide off and on your wrist. Then, glue or tape it in place.

Step 13:

Now that the loop is secured in place, starting at the top, wrap your rope, leather, cordage (or whatever you choose) around the handle, holding your loop in place.

Step 14:

Finally, take the last row of rope and glue it in place. Once it’s dry, your DIY BDSM spanking paddle is ready for your next dungeon session!

Stir Up Spanking Fantasies with Free Pain Stirrers

Paint Stirrer

Some paint sticks are thicker, some are thinner. Some are made from plastic and some, made of wood. But the best part of paint stirrers, sticks and mixers is that most of the time, they are free! Better yet, most of us will have a few of these paint sticks lying around the house or garage. These sticks make great DIY BDSM paddles in a pinch. They’re sturdy and they sting!

However, if you’re the crafty type, a paint stirrer is the perfect, structural base for a homemade spanking paddle!

Imagine role playing the house painter and naught house sitter.

BedBible Exclusive: Paint Stirrer + Belt Homemade Paddle

When you just can’t afford to run out and shell out cash for a leather or faux leather BDSM paddle, it’s easy to make one at home. All it takes are some things around the house, a paint stick and a leather or faux leather belt. I found this belt at the Dollar General Store for under $3.00. The open hole design is going to make one heck of an attractive homemade paddle.

Here is what you’ll need to make one of your own. And remember, you can switch this up to create your own, unique paddle.

Supplies

  • Paint stirring stick
  • Paint
  • Leather or faux leather belt
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks or a heavy-duty, multi-purpose glue like Gorilla Glue brand
  • Rope, leather strips or cordage (optional depending on the belt)

Step 1:

Paint the paint stick the color of your choice. Or, if you don’t have the time, paint or inclination, you can leave it as it is. Allow to dry well before proceeding.

Step 2:

Using thin, sharp scissors, cut through the belt’s stitching and remove the buckle and any other hardware. You should be left with one long strip.

Step 3:

Lay the painted paint stirrer on top of the belt. Using crayon or chalk, mark the underside of the belt at top of the stick and at the bottom, make a mark even with the bottom of the stick, before it thins into the handle.

Step 4:

Cut the first strip off of the belt using a sharp, heavy-duty pair of scissors.

Step 5:

Using the first strip, measure 3 more strips on the belt. Cut into 4 even pieces. The belt I used was a 32-34, so it won’t come out as perfectly had I purchased a bigger waist size. So, hopefully, you have a bigger belt in your closet.

Step 6:

Lay 2 pieces of belt, side-by-side, meeting in the center of the paint stick. Glue down thoroughly using either a hot glue gun or a heavy-duty, all-purpose glue, like Gorilla Glue. Allow several hours to dry.

Step 7:

Flip the paddle over and do the same thing with the remaining 2 pieces of belt. I had to poke holes in one of my belt strips since it was a smaller waist size. But if your belt is solid, you won’t have to worry about it.

Step 8:

Using rope or cord, cut small pieces, thread them through the holes and tie them off, leaving a bit of rope or cord hanging to add to the pleasure/pain when using this DIY BDSM spanking paddle. Or, as shown above, lace the cord through the holes, crisscrossing as you would lace a shoe.

If you don’t have holes in your belt, either poke holes on the outer edge of all 4 strips, using a sharp pair of scissors or drill. Or you can wrap the rope around the paddle, in a crisscross pattern, gluing it down as you go.

And there you have it! A faux leather DIY spanking paddle that you can use to fulfill all of your naughty fantasies.

Gardening Pad Homemade Spanking Paddle

Gardening Kneeling Pad

Since I wrote this blog post in the spring, my local Dollar Tree had plenty of foam kneeling pads that you use for gardening. Considering the handle is already built-in and they come in textured selections, you are already more than half way there! Or, if you choose, you can use the gardening pad as is, for a spanking paddle in a pinch.

Plus, this is a perfect starter paddle as the pain level is relatively low.

Here are some steps to take in order to customize a gardening pad into a more manageable spanking paddle.

Gardening Kneeling pad soanking paddle step 1

Step 1:

Using a marker, trace out a shape you would like your paddle to be. It can be simple, like mine or you can draw stacked hearts, squiggles or whatever you wish.

Step 2:

Cut out the shape using a sharp knife. Just be extremely careful not to cut yourself!

Step 4:

Round the corners, using the knife. Then, even out any edges that aren’t smooth. Leave your paddle as it is; the texture is quite stimulating when used for spanking. Or add some sting to your DIY spanking paddle by gluing on or attaching grommets, studs or jewels. Considering the material is a thick foam, it’s easy to apply things, pull them out and try something new.
