Design

This wand is a black mirror of mystery and intrigue. The polished surface cloaks the obsidian in a reflective gleam- a reminder to look inward during times of darkness. Glints of color from the surrounding environment dance upon the edges of each highlight, with a prismatic effect. The asymmetrical design ignites curiosity and encourages users to explore the labyrinth of contours. This artistry is further enhanced by the dynamic grinder, which doubles as a safety barrier. It may be the most radiant sculpture in my collection.

Ease of Use

As with all manual toys, Le Wand Crystal G Wand in Black Obsidian can take time to master. Each body has a unique topography of erogenous zones, and it's a journey to unearth every landmark. Once the user has revealed their own desires, use becomes intuitive. While the bulbous end may prove too girthy for some, the tapered tip is much more manageable. That being said, it requires dexterity to grip and maneuver; and attaching the silicone ring will require more force than arthritic hands can muster.

Quality

Every aspect of Le Wand Crystal G Wand exuded fine quality. The pleasure guide was hardbound, and the silicone grinder- devoid of odor. As for the wand, there were no visible inclusions and the surface was perfectly polished. One should still exercise caution during handling, though. Obsidian is rated 5.5 on Moh's Hardness Scale, which is more fragile than porcelain (rated 7). Like porcelain, obsidian can break into sharp pieces. For this reason, it's important to inspect the surface for fractures before each use. Users can ensure longevity of their product with proper care and storage.

Price

This luxury wand normally retails for $250. While this is on the high end, Le Wand claims that all of their stones are ethically sourced with "minimal environmental impact." Additionally, it comes with a hardbound pleasure guide, user manual, silicone grinder, and suede-like carrying bag. This, combined with the size and quality, justifies the price. At the time of this review, it's on sale for $99. This is an incredible value for an obsidian wand measuring 7-inches long and 1.34-inches wide. Additionally, Le Wand honors price matching and a lifetime quality guarantee.

Performance

For a rigid sculpture with a 1.34-inch diameter, this wand inserted and performed so comfortably. The slender end had a maximum width of 1.25-inches and gradually tapered off. This simplified warm-up, before progressing to the rotund portion. It had heft, but nothing like I expected. Obsidian weighs 2.4 grams per cubic centimeter, which is less than one-third of the density of stainless steel. It was enough to apply effortless pressure to erogenous zones. Not to mention, very little lubricant was required to coat the glossy surface.

Packaging

Le Wand's packaging featured a sleek silhouette, sheathed in marble-esque opulence. Veins of silvery paint slithered through the black lid, and upon the accessories' container. Directions and contents were printed upon a removeable sleeve, not disrupting the storage box's aesthetic. Shock-absorbing foam embraced the obsidian sculpture, ensuring safe transit. Similar care was sewn into the carrying bag in the form of embroidered detailing and padded lining. Overall, the packaging embodied the same artistry and splendor as the wand within.

Materials and care

As mentioned, obsidian forms from cooled lava. While manufactured glass is usually body-safe, this naturally occurring material has a microscopically porous structure. It should be cleaned immediately before and after each use, using a damp cloth and antibacterial cleanser. Remove all soap residue before allowing the wand to dry. To cleanse the obsidian's energy, charge in the moonlight. Avoid sudden temperature changes or extreme conditions (like freezing or boiling). Water exposure should be limited for best care. Store in the box or carrying bag provided. If cracks or chips form, discontinue use.
