Personal Experience

Overall, I enjoyed using the Lelo Hugo. Though it is a bit on the pricier side, the feeling it provides is worth it. Like any toy I purchase, I look for versatility in function. From the moment I tested the vibrations with my hand, this prostate massager gained my approval for versatility in function.

Design

The Lelo Hugo has a very sleek design, with a C-like shape. The shape provides an extra level of protection to ensure the toy does not go missing inside you, but the shape can also prevent the toy from going deep enough. The shape and placement of the vibration controller/power button assists in making it somewhat easier to use. The Lelo Hugo has a smooth almost velvet-like feel to it. It has a wide tip for insertion; however, it has a small, yet comfortable, base.

Ease of Use

The Lelo Hugo is very user-friendly. I would have liked for there to be a guidebook that lists the different vibration settings and a brief section on how to use the remote. However, there is not a steep learning curve. After turning on the toy for the first time, things became somewhat intuitive, especially since there was one button on the device. When using the remote, it vibrates and changes its vibrations to match the toy; however, all controls on the toy shift to remote-only.

Quality

Overall, I believe the Lelo Hugo is an excellent quality product. By the feel of the toy, I get the sense that Lelo put thought into what material to use. Unlike many prostate massagers, this one vibrates throughout the toy, including its base. This added to the experience since this is a sensation that is often lacking. Something that is hurting the device, however, is the sound. It is pretty loud, but that may be due to the vibration speeds. The vibrations are less harsh than other toys, meaning they are strong yet soft.

Price

The Lelo Hugo is almost worth the price. Much of this is due to it being one of the first prostate massagers that provides a soft vibration; meaning that it provides a great deal of pleasure without it feeling forceful or agitating my anal canal to the point there is discomfort. However, if there were more on the market that provided a similar experience, I would go with the cheaper option. The material they use can be found with some toys that are priced cheaper. To add to this, the remote’s vibrations are not as intense as the toy itself. For any remote to vibrate, I would expect it to double as a toy, which this one cannot.

Performance

The Lelo Hugo exceeded my expectations. The vibrations were strong, yet soft. I held the toy in my hands to test the vibrations, and it made me more excited to try the toy. It also sent a nice sensation throughout my body. During my use of the Lelo Hugo, it did not get too hot; however, I only had it on for less than 20 minutes. When charging the device, it took roughly 30 minutes for it to recharge. The remote, though useful, did not meet my expectations because the vibrations were much weaker.

Packaging

Unboxing the Lelo Hugo was like unboxing a priceless figurine. The box it was in made it seem like something you would want to brag to your friends about: “Look, I have the new Hugo!” Black is definitely the new and only black. Everything was black, yet everything stood out. There was an additional black wrap on the box that added to the discretion. Lelo also included an easy-to-follow guide to help any purchaser to register their device on their website.

Materials and care

The materials for the Lelo Hugo are waterproof and non-porous. Similar to other silicone-based materials, using a silicone-based lube on the Lelo Hugo may result in damage over time. When using the toy, I used and recommend using a water-based lube. This helps ensure the longevity of the materials. I do recommend using a toy cleaner when washing; however, if you do not have any at home, antibacterial soap with water would work just fine.
