This product is not available anymore! It has been replaced with the Lovense Hush 2.  I once again thought I’d bitten off more than I could manage when I opened the Lovense Hush. Having decided the small was too small, I opted for the medium size but I say large would be a more accurate description! This thing is B.I.G. I showed the plug to a few friends (before testing it) and their raised eyebrows and wide eyes confirmed my suspicions that this toy was going to challenge me! If you like the sound of the Hush but prefer a smaller plug, it also comes in 1.5 inch diameter. The plug felt lovely and smooth and turning on the vibrations, I could instantly feel the sheer power of the vibrations. The lower settings have a rumblier quality, which I much prefer, whereas the strongest settings can be more buzzy as the toy is vibrating at such speed!

A closer look at the Design

The Hush has a torpedo shaped design and t-bar base that is meant to be comfortable for extended wear. The tip is nicely tapered but not too pointy, so it's more comfortable when sitting. The widest part of the plug is pretty girthy at 1.75 inches, and you really feel it because the plug is almost completely rigid! The neck is thin and flexible, making it easier on your sphincter and ensuring that your sphincter can close around it to keep it in place. The base of the next has a thin spiral that is meant to prevent the lube from leaking out and help keep you lubed up for longer! As I don't use plugs for extended amounts of time, I can't vouch for this feature, but it seems like it prolong the amount of time between re-lubing. The base also fits comfortably between your cheeks and doesn't get in the way during PIV sex, which I was really happy about! The only thing that I wasn't that keen on was the standard black color, which wouldn't be my first choice, but it's fine.

Is the Lovense Hush easy to use?

The plug itself very easy to use, and only has one button to turn it and off and scroll through the standard vibration settings. I was also pleasantly surprised how easy it was to connect the plug to the app! It took les than a minute to have it connected and be able to customise and control the different vibrations patterns. It also stays connected and I haven't had any problems with losing connection. My only complaint is that you pretty much need to use your phone if you want to adjust anything as it's difficult to switch the intensity using the button on the device when it's inserted and the button only gives you three intensity levels. I didn't really like having to use my phone during sex and would much prefer to have remote control.

Rating the Quality of the Lovense Hush

The Hush feels very well made. There's nothing that rattles, it doesn't get hot and the silicone feels incredibly soft. The connection between the app and the toy also seems to be very good so far and the toy reacts quickly when you adjust the settings in the app. The silicone is nice and soft. There is a faint seam around the outside of the plug but I can't feel it at all when in use. It is a total dust magnet, which made photographing it very difficult, but so are most silicone sex toys.

Save or splurge: Looking at the price tag

The Lovense Hush comes with the basics. As well as the plug, you get a black storage bag, a charging cable, and some small instruction manuals but there are much more comprehensive instructions on the website. This is an expensive butt plug, but it definitely belongs to the category of high-tech sex toys. Due to the high price (and size, of course), I would say it's only worth the money if you know you love vibrating butt plugs and are looking to invest in a great butt plug with powerful vibrations or you want a butt plug specifically for long distance or discreet public play. The versatility of the plug also makes the high price tag more reasonable — it can be used with or without vibrations, for extended periods of time, and long distance sex.

The Lovense Hush: Does it Deliver on Pleasure?

Between the size of the plug and the strength of the vibrations, the Hush delivers a whole lot of stimulation! When I first switched the vibrations on, I was really impressed by the strength and quality of the vibrations. It definitely maintains Lovense's reputation for strong vibrations! It's also pretty quiet considering how powerful it is. Unlike some vibrating toys, the noise isn't at all distracting during sex. I measured the volume while holding the Hush in my hand and the lowest setting was just 28 decibels and the highest setting came out at 40 decibels. Plus, it will be quieter when it's inside you. I actually prefer the lower and mid levels of vibration as they are a little more rumbly. I felt that the higher settings get so fast that the although the vibration is stronger, it is more difficult to feel.

A closer Look at it’s packaging

The Lovense packaging isn't my favorite. It doesn't really have the same luxury feel as other top sex brands, and I think the packaging looks a bit cheap. The box is sturdy at least. I'm not a huge fan of the Lovense branding in general, and think their toys are very hit or miss. Not to mention, the awful black, white, and shocking pink color scheme they have going on! That being said they do strong vibrations and app control very well — their app is definitely one of the better ones out there in terms of connectivity and reliability.

Lovense Hush: A Dive into the Materials and Care

The whole plug is covered in high-quality silicone and is completely waterproof, which makes it super easy to keep clean. You can use warm water and fragrance-free soap or a sex toy cleanser to wash the plug before and after each use. You will need to pay some extra attention to the spiral at the base of the neck to ensure it gets a good clean. Once the Hush is completely dry, you can store it in the pouch it comes in, ready for it's next outing! You should only use water-based lubrication as silicone lube could damage the silicone on the toy, and I would recommend going for a thicker water-based lube designed specifically for anal play, so you won't need to reapply as often.

Special feature

The Lovense Hush’s special feature is its app connectivity that gives you access to a whole world of fun features! Controlling the Hush in the app is very intuitive as you can just slide the icon up or down to change the intensity of the vibrations and you can choose between a steady vibration level (float) or make a looping pattern (loop). The other option for controlling the vibrations is speed mode, which increases the intensity the more you move your phone, which could make for a very interesting run! On top of that you can create custom patterns that can be saved and shared with others. If your partner also has the app, you can allow them to control the Hush from anywhere in the world, which is amazing for long-distance sex or playing a games while you are out and about together. The app also lets you set the vibrations to music or sounds or even use your plug as an alarm clock. While I can think of worse ways of being woken up, I wouldn’t recommend sleeping with a butt plug inside you.
