Testing the Magic Wand Mini
When my Magic Wand Mini arrived, I was so excited. I had heard such amazing things about the Magic Wand Original from many people and was ecstatic to try a smaller, rechargeable version of the famous predecessor. At first glance, this wand vibrator appeared to carry much power. Its hefty handle and larger-sized head (for a mini wand massager) told me that this vibrator was no joke. I excitedly put it on the charger for 4 hours to get a full charge before first use!
Trying Out the Controls
I turned the wand on by pressing the power button and easily became accustomed to the simplicity of the toy. The + and – buttons are extremely simple to use – just press up or down depending on what intensity level you prefer. I personally love this, because I hate cycling through vibration speeds when playing solo or partnered. Also, when you turn the toy back on after it’s been off, it starts up at the lowest speed again which is amazing! I hate using a vibrator at full speed, turning my toy off, then when I go to use it again am taken-a-back when it is way too powerful to start a play session with. I also really enjoyed that this toy didn’t offer different vibration patterns because personally, they aren’t my style, and I usually find myself accidentally pressing those buttons during play which throws everything off.Solo Play
After acclimating to the wand’s functions, I began solo play. At first touch to my clitoris I was honestly very disappointed. I personally enjoy full power, fast, intense, and deep vibrations, and expected the Magic Wand Mini to be more than capable of achieving this considering their highly regarded brand. However, when using this toy at max power, I experienced less intensity than I’ve enjoyed from wands more than half the price of the Magic Wand Mini. I will say that the type of vibrations that the wand provides (deep, rumbly, and rhythmic) are very pleasurable, but I was overall disappointed by their power.Partnered Play
In my experience, the best part about this toy in the context of partnered play is its long handle and larger wand head size. I enjoy using wand vibrators during partnered penetrative sex, and found this toy to be very easy to use in a variety of positions due to its longer handle. I found that because of its longer and weightier handle, I was able to put less pressure on my wrist (which my carpal tunnel loved!). The larger head also provided easy stimulation to my clitoris in positions when my stomach was against a surface like a bed as well which I enjoyed. Moving forward I don’t think this will be my go-to wand for masturbation or partnered play, but when craving simplicity or perhaps a play session with longer build-up, I may reach for my Magic Wand Mini. The Magic Wand Mini is very simple to use. The wand only has three vibration speeds and three buttons: power on/off, increase in vibration speed, and decrease in vibration speed. Whereas many other vibrators do not have a visual aid to illustrate the vibration speed one is at, the Magic Wand Mini has three blue lights which increase in size to indicate which speed you're currently at which can be useful during playtime. I also love that you don't have to cycle through the vibration speeds in order to get to the speed you'd like- you can simply press the + or - buttons.
