Personal Experience

I will admit, I ordered this vibrator readily equipped with high expectations. The first toy I ever purchased that successfully guided me toward sexual enlightenment was in fact a ROMP product, another clitoral stimulator. It was a grand, tearful success, but I made a grave oversight. I made the mistake of selecting the only two products of theirs that necessitated batteries: the Switch and the Switch X. Making regular trips to my local shop to purchase batteries isn’t ideal, so I set off to acquire a rechargeable stimulator. Something I learned about myself is that I enjoy my vibrators programmed on intensity, rather than module. ROMP is implicit in how it offers pleasure by arranging it on a simple scale. The “+” function increases speed and intensity, the “-“ button decreases it. When you think it can’t get any faster, any more intense, it does, and it’s an absolute riot. Paired with a dildo, an orgasm is guaranteed. It’s my go-to at present, the strongest of my vast fleet.

Soap and water make for an easy clean, but you must dry this gadget thoroughly. It seems trivial, but no less crucial. A minute, inevitable flaw in its design causes it to retain water if not properly dried. It’s not harmful short-term, just uncomfortable. 

Design

The ROMP Free has a quaint, ergonomic design. It’s small, easy to cap and store. Its body is hard and rigid, but the stimulation head is a softer silicone. The ROMP Free may not be something to cuddle or squish, nor the prettiest pick in the patch, but it retains a large sum of aesthetic appeal through its flawless function and, dare you forget, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Ease of Use

As is the case with several other clitoral stimulators, especially under the ROMP brand, you are obligated to hold the “+” button for a few seconds before the device turns on. Being completely manual, there is no need to connect the toy to an app. What IS required is a firm finger pressure and a knack for patience, as well as faith in the gadget. Once it is on, you will need to physically hover the sucking apparatus over your vulva. To achieve optimal pleasure, hold it over your clitoris for an extended period of time, steadily increasing the speed via the "+" button to account for rising ecstasy.

Quality

The product is very high quality, albeit very loud on the highest setting. As I live in a house with thin walls and numerous people, this isn’t ideal, but something I personally am willing to sacrifice for the pleasure attained. As long as it is regularly charged, it is very reliable—not to mention sturdy. I am incredibly clumsy and dropped the poor thing on my way to clean it. Not an external or internal injury to be found, just a minor dent to the ego.

Price

Sex toys are notoriously a pretty penny. That being said, PinkCherry gave me a phenomenal deal for the device for roughly $25, not including tax. Not only is this reasonably affordable for a low-income sucker such as I, but I would confidently argue I got my money’s worth for the level of intensities provided.

Performance

The vibrations are exceptional. Strength considered, the battery life feels reasonable. 45 minutes is enough time for me to achieve a resounding climax. My clitoris becomes extremely sensitive by the end, a pity as I crave another round, but that is remedied with time. The device takes an hour or so to fully recharge, but I’ve endured more stalling charging times. If pain is experienced: investigate, as that is not something that should happen!

Packaging

The best word I can use to describe ROMP’s packaging is “consistently welcoming,” especially for the less bold or shy such as I. I admittedly could be fonder of the stickers, which mock my purchase and instill in my sensitive self an irrational shame. Sex is quite special to me, sacred. The stickers make me feel filthy, not dirty. Vital difference. This is a highly subjective, curious phenomenon that I doubt anyone else suffers from. Back to the more positive elements, the paper packaging is informative, truthful, and easily disposable. When I enter an adult store, I actively look for ROMP’s iconic branding. I’ve learned to trust it, as it has yet to fail me.

Materials and care

No need to fret, the ROMP Free is both body-safe/non-porous. The product is waterproof and very easy to clean with warm water and sufficient soap. There are three removable layers in total, however: the body, the head, and the cap. Through drying is a must if you don’t want to accidentally trap droplets beneath the head. While it does not come with a storage bag, its small size makes it a breeze to store. One can even hide it under a folded blanket (that’s my trick). Refrain from silicone lubes at all costs.
