Personal Experience

When I first opened the packaging, I was excited when I saw the clitoral stimulant. It comes in a small but cute bottle that is easy to squeeze and small enough to hold and accurately place on my clit. I really loved how easy the balm was to place on my clit, with the bottle being the size of a lip balm! The flat end of the applicator helped to place and smooth the balm into my clit, so I could sit back and wait for the magic to begin. So I did, I waited… and waited. Until finally my clit simply felt, numb? From the wording on the front of the bottle, I expected to feel ‘buzzing’ or some kind of tingling sensation. I must say, I couldn’t feel much. After some contact with my fingers, it certainly felt numb and that the nerve endings had been heightened, but there wasn’t much external stimulation. When it came to having sex with my partner, the internal feeling of penetration overruled the feeling of the clit anyway, so I lost focus. The feeling kind of just got lost…

Design

From the box to the bottle, I love how cute the packaging design is! The neon pink colouring is fun and cute, even if it does play more towards being a 'female aimed' product. The design of the bottle and the wording is very clear and easy to understand as The only thing I don't like, probably because I don't really understand why it is on the bottle, in the '12 Volt' wording. I guess it is playing into the 'buzzing sensation and electric feeling' the clitoral balm is going to provide, but after not feeling anything close to 12 Volts of power, I think it is a little bit cheap looking.

Ease of Use

I would recommend this balm to anyone, including beginners, due to how easy it was to use. A clitoral stimulant might be slightly overwhelming and too stimulating for a beginner, but if you are ready to use one, it is very easy to use. The flat face of the applicator makes it easy to place onto the clitoris and it is small enough to make sure it doesn't spread onto other areas of the vulva. The packaging says that it is non spread, which is accurate as when it is on the clit, it does no run like some lubes would do. It doesn't make a huge difference but if you use this balm during personal masturbation and it spreads to your finger tips, it can make them slightly numb.

Quality

The quality, like most System JO lubes, is very high. Starting with the outside, I love a product that comes in a box! I am not sure what it is, but in my head, a product is more luxurious if it comes in a box that can be opened. The quality of the box, as well as the bottle/tube that holds the product feels premium and expensive. When it comes to the stimulating balm itself, it feels smooth on the skin, as well as tingly when on the clit. It has a herbal smell, which is actually really nice, but not something I was expecting. On first reading of the ingredients, the lube expert in me had a slight panic, as it contains Glycerin. Glycerin can often promote bacterial growth in the vagina, of which can lead to nasty infections. But when I realised it wont be going inside me, I was way less worried and made sure I only used this product externally.

Price

For something that comes in such a small bottle, and didn't actually make the largest difference, it has a very large price tag in my opinion. Sure, the brand is good quality and recognisable, as well as the packaging being premium and feeling good on the skin, but for all the promises that JO makes through its advertising, it has a high price tag for something that personally made a small difference. Too, if I am going to pay this larger price, I would want the bottle to be slightly bigger, even though you don't need to use lots of balm, I am pretty sure it is going to run out pretty fast.

Performance

Unfortunately, this clitoral stimulant gel was a let down. I wanted it to work so badly, I really loved everything about it before I put it on my clitoris! The packaging, the branding, the smell! But once it was rubbed onto my clit, the sensation was underwhelming. I would say I have a reasonably sensitive clitoris anyway, so maybe that's why I didn't feel much of a difference, but it just felt numb and slightly tingly. I would much rather use a stimulating/tingly lube that increased my arousal ten fold, but regrettably, this wasn't the product. Everything else about it was perfect - I love the natural, body-safe ingredients, the easy to use packaging, so maybe it is worth a try if you don't have a naturally sensitive clitoris? I really hope it works well for you, I'll be so jealous!

Packaging

As someone who has tried, what it feels like, hundreds of lubes, I know that System JO never cut corners when it comes to designing good packaging. This clitoral stimulant makes no exception, as the lip-balm sized clitoral stimulant is great for bringing around with you, even in your purse! The fast that it is a squeezy bottle makes sure you are using very last drop, and I found it to be a better applicator than a roller ball applicator. With it being a squeezy bottle, it also means you can control how much product comes out at once, allowing you to use as much as you desire. Sometimes with pour bottles, too much can come out at once and go everywhere! It's nice to keep it neat and clean.

Materials and care

After using this balm, I used natural soap that was safe to use 'down there' and some hot water, when in the shower. It can easily be washed off and after sex, has pretty much come off anyway! Even if it has rubbed off the clit, I still stayed tingly/numb for a good 30 minutes, so don't worry if it rubs off (or you rub it off!)
