System JO Cocktails Mojito Lube: Test Result

Design

As this is more of a novelty lube, I really love how colourful and fun the packaging is! Straight away it tells you what type and flavour it is, as well as still having all the information. The 'cocktails' range is made clear by the labelling of the bottle, showing how System JO have collections. The only downside to the design of this bottle is that the limes and mint pictures can make it slightly more difficult to read the information, as it all looks a little busy. As this bottle is also the smallest volume that you can get this lube in, the writing is very small and hard to read. Make sure you're wearing your contacts!

Ease of Use

Wash off hands test // Works with condoms? // Works with sex toys? Tackiness test Water-based lubes seem to be the easiest lubes to use, as they are compatible with all condom types and sex toy materials. This lube is translucent despite looking like it has a slightly green colouring when it is in the bottle. It is very easy to wash off the skin after use; just use some natural soap and hot water. This lube has a medium viscosity, as well as not becoming tacky after friction occurs. From my experience, water-based lubes don;t tend to become tacky like silicone lubes.

Quality

Most System JO lubes have FDA approved ingredients, especially this lube, as it is intended for consuming. The fact that it is FDA approved really set my mind at ease, as I my mind has been out at ease, knowing it is safe to consume. System JO Mojito has a pH reading of 6, showing that it is slightly more acidic than alkali - This is good for vulva owners as I recommend using a lube that has a similar pH, so that chemical imbalances are reduced. The ingredients in this lube are Aqua, Glycerin, Potassium Sorbate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Chloride, Aroma (Flavour), Citric Acid, Sucralose. I am not a fan of lubes that contain glycerin, as glycerin is a sugar that often promotes bacterial growth, which is bad for vaginas as it increases the risk of bacterial infections.

Price

For the smallest bottle size that JO offers, I think the price is in the mid range. I understand that this lube has a special feature of being a cocktail flavoured lube and it really does taste like it, otherwise it is a pretty basic water-based lube. If you are looking for a novelty lube though, it is a great option.

Performance

If you know me, you know I loveee System JO lubes - They all have great consistencies, good ingredients and their packaging is always great. This lube is no exception - despite having glycerin in it, of which is an ingredient I often avoid - it is a great flavoured lube that is novel and still works well as a sexual lubricant. It has a smooth consistency and smells exactly like the the cocktail, not chemically or too synthetic. It didn't become tacky after use, as wasn't the quickest to dry out. A great overall performance!

Compatibility

System JO have my favourite bottles out of all the brands that I have tested. Don't get me wrong, there are some great bottles like the Uberlube, but System JO as a company, make the easiest to use and best sized bottles, in my opinion. The lid is accurate and easy to use, especially when you have lube on your hands. The bottles are nto made of hard plastic that cannot be squeezed, unlike the Sliquid bottles. The only downside to this Mojito lubricant, is the bottle itself is quite small - this would be great for travelling and on the go, however, with the amount of lube I like to use, it would run out in days!

Stain Test

At first, looking at the lube through the bottle, I thought this lube was tinted and stained a slightly green/yellow colour like the other System JO Camomile, but after pouring it on my hands and onto the spoon, I realised that it was transparent. I prefer lubes that are translucent, as I don't like it when my skin is stained, as I think it looks weird and unnatural and sort of turns me off. The bonus to having translucent water-based lubes, is that they wash out of the sheets easily and don't leave fabric stains.
