The Guardian Chastity Cage Review
My Verdict
This toy has a sleek look and is one of the nicer resin chastity cages I’ve worn. It’s got holes for breathability and might potentially be comfortable for some. It’s also potentially user-friendly. I say potentially, because I couldn’t fit inside the narrow tube, resulting in my penis being squished toward the base of the chamber rather than filling it.
Buy, if you...

- have a slender shaft.

Don't buy, if you...

- are average girth and want something that fits.
- prefer steel chastity.
- want a custom fitted device.
- have never used a chastity device before.

Personal Experience
First Impression, Second Cage
I was sent two Cellmate chastity devices to review: the Guardian I’m reviewing here and the Flexispike Chastity Cage. I actually tested the Flexispike first. The Guardian stands out because it has a sleeker classic look. Otherwise, there was a lot of overlap between the two (though it’s worth reading about the differences). Each was beautiful, made of comfortable black resin, and easy to put together. And both cages were just too tight for me. For some reason, I did find that I could squeeze into Flexispike more easily despite both cages having the same interior measurements. I’m bigger than average, but I’ve rarely experienced such difficulty squeezing into a cage as with the Guardian, no matter how uncomfortable it might be.Daily Wear
I wore the Guardian a few times in the evening at home, during a play session with a partner, and on a couple of walks. It stayed on without much chafing, despite being smooshed so badly I couldn’t fill out the cage (something I found worse with the Guardian and the Flexispike). When I stripped down after a long walk, my boxers’ waistband brushed the sheath and it popped off, freeing my shaft even as the base ring stayed locked in place. Had I fit better, it would probably have been both comfortable and secure. As much as people love debating how much size counts in the bedroom, I can say with this toy, it really counts.Design
Made of black resin, this comfy classic-looking cage has plenty of gaps along the length for easy cleaning and teasing. It comes with four different-sized base rings, ranging from 1.69 – 2.0 inches wide. Buyers can also choose one of two different-sized sheaths, 3.35 and 3.74 inches long respectively, though each is only 1.53 inches wide. The top of the sheath slots into the base ring and a cylinder lock slides into the place where they meet to hold everything together when locked. Unfortunately, there’s a gap at the bottom of the sheath which I found just a little too wide, especially give how narrow the cage was, making it too tight in one place and too lose in another.
Ease of Use
This is incredibly beginner friendly—or at least it can be. One should use lube or lotion when putting it on, as with all chastity devices, and the cock sheath is designed to easily slide into two slots in the base ring. Based on how well everything fit together once it was secured, putting it on should theoretically be a breeze. That wasn’t my experience. My usual caveat about size applies here, and it should be noted I'm a bit bigger than average. I personally had to wrestle the sheath and base ring together long enough to slide the lock into place. Despite this heavy-handed approach, the design is otherwise more newbie-friendly than many similar devices.
Quality
This is not the sort of chastity device that you will see long-time chastity lifestylers raving about on blogs. It’s also not the sort cheaply made junk that so many Ebay vendors want to pawn off on naïve buyers. I like the feel of the resin and the overall look, but the limited sizes are a major drawback. It’s solidly mid-tier.
Price
If this fits, it’s a great price, as this comes with four base rings and two types of locks. If it doesn’t fit, the cost is too much to justify a toy that won’t work.
Performance
All of the parts fit together and locked into place. There was some minor risk of skin pinching when putting it on, but that’s common for many devices. Unfortunately, due to the narrow 1.53-inch interior of the cage, this didn’t work for me. However, for someone who fits into this, I can see it being comfortably and securely worn for a week at a time and having many enjoyable sessions wearing it.
Packaging
This is one of two Cellmate chastity devices I was sent to review and both of them came in beautiful packaging. The box has a glossy sheen with art showing the device. Inside, everything was neatly packed in foam with the cage in the center and the four base rings displayed in slots around it.
Materials and care
The Guardian is made from black resin, which is comfortable, looks great, and can be easily cleaned with antibacterial soap and water. It’s also waterproof, so great in the shower. It comes with a metal cylinder lock and several smaller disposable plastic ABS locks for temporary use when traveling.
