UPKO Multi-Functional Clamps Set Review

Personal Experience

I’ve tried a few different styles of nipple clamps in my time, but none that intimidated quite like these ones do! The UPKO Multi-functional Clamps are large, weighty and don’t mess around. They don’t have any kind of mechanism that keeps them together like crocodile- or tweezer-style clamps. Instead, they come with three different sizes of elastic band that you put around each end to keep the two clamps together. In fact, they remind me a bit of the homemade chopstick clamps that my colleague Isabelle made!

Design

I love how luxurious these clamps look and feel! The gold is gorgeous and totally my color, which helps. The one thing I dislike is the phrase engraved on each clamp — it's just a bit strange and doesn't add anything to the experience for me.

Ease of Use

These clamps are certainly not as straightforward as regular crocodile or tweezer clamps. Even with the handy tool, it can be a little fiddly to get the bands on and off while also keeping the clamps in place. If you don't have someone to help you put the bands on while you hold the clamps in place, it's doubly as difficult. It's also important to keep in mind that the weight of them makes them more prone to falling off than other clamps!

Quality

The UPKO multi-functional clamps look and feel really nice. They're solid and weighty, and ooze a sense of quality. I appreciate that they've gone the extra mile to include the elastic band tool, different sizes of band and a nice storage pouch — it adds to the feeling that you're receiving a premium toy.

Price

At $60, these are certainly more expensive than almost any other clamps you'll find on the market. However, they're also much higher quality than most other clamps, and much more versatile. I wouldn't necessarily recommend them for those looking for nipple clamps alone, but if you enjoy the pressure and pain of clamping and want to experiment with it, these are a great and luxurious way to do so.

Performance

The performance of these UPKO clamps was a bit of a mixed bag, and how much you like them will depend a lot on what you're looking for, and how much you're willing to experiment until you find the right placement for you. That being said, they are much more appealing to me than most other labia or clit clamps, since they don't have that traditional, scary BDSM-vibe to them.

Packaging

I love UPKO's packaging. So much of the BDSM items I've tried in the past have come in cheap packaging, sometimes with gaudy naked women on the front, and others just in a clear plastic bag! This is the complete opposite — it feels luxurious and grown-up, like a real kinky treat. The outer cardboard box is understated with an elegant design, and inside, everything is stored in the gorgeous velvet pouch. My only complaint is that everything was wrapped in plastic, which felt a bit unnecessary.

Materials and care

UPKO say that these clamps are made from an electroplated zinc alloy, but they don't clarify whether this alloy contains nickel or any other common allergens. Luckily, I don't suffer from an allergy to nickel or other metals, but I would definitely be cautious if you do. To clean the clamps, simply use some warm water and soap — just be sure to clean every part thoroughly, especially where there's engraving in the metal.
