Personal Experience

I’ve always been a fan of egg vibrators, so I was pretty excited to give this one a try. My first toy was an egg, and it got a lot of use, so I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for them. They’re simple, versatile, and not intimidating for beginners, but they still get the job done. You can use this one internally for solo play or externally for clitoral or nipple stimulation during partner play — it’s pretty versatile. I also love app-enabled toys because they let you use your phone as a remote, which is way more convenient than trying to find the buttons on the toy itself. The preset patterns that come with these toys are usually just okay—I don’t typically use them after the first try. But with an app, you can create custom patterns that really work for you, which is a big plus.

Out in Public

Design

The Jive Lite is really well-designed. It’s made entirely from soft, smooth, body-safe silicone, and it’s 100% waterproof. At first, I thought the two metal shapes on the tail were buttons, but they’re actually the magnetic connection for the charging cable. I’m usually not a fan of magnetic chargers because they can easily disconnect, but We-Vibe did a great job here. The connection is secure, and it doesn’t disconnect easily if it gets bumped. The flexible tail is also really comfortable against your body—you barely notice it’s there.

Ease of Use

This toy couldn’t be easier to use. It has one button that does everything—turning the toy on, setting it up for Bluetooth, cycling through the ten modes, and turning it off. The settings cycle through low, medium, high, and ultra power, followed by six patterns: pulse, wave, tease, ramp, tempo, and massage. The app connects very easily with the toy, which is not always the case with app-enabled toys.

Quality

The We-Vibe Jive Lite feels high quality. The silicone is smooth and feels nice to the touch. The tail portion is very flexible and has a nice taper to the edge that makes if fit snuggly against the body. The egg has a nice bit of weight to it. It is easy to wash. I expect that it will last a long time and not show signs of wear or fall apart.

Price

Compared to other egg vibrators, the We-Vibe Jive Lite is on the expensive side. It would be totally worth it if all the app features worked as advertised and the connection was more stable, which I hope they will address. But given the issues with the app, it does feel overpriced for an egg vibrator alone, even though it’s a really good one.

Performance

This toy has powerful vibrations and works great as a vibrator. As much as I enjoyed using this toy, I did run into some issues. It’s advertised to last up to two hours on a single charge, but that seems a bit optimistic—I only got about an hour out of it, even with intermittent use. For me, that’s just not quite long enough. The app also has some connectivity problems—it would often drop the connection with the toy, and I’d have to reconnect, which isn’t ideal when you’re trying to enjoy the moment, especially in public. And the biggest letdown for me was the Long Distance Play feature in the app. It’s supposed to let your partner control the vibe from anywhere, which sounded like a lot of fun, but we just couldn’t get it to work, no matter how many times we tried (and we’re a pretty tech-savvy couple). We managed to work around that by my partner downloading and connecting to the app from his phone. This worked fine as long as we stayed within 17 feet of each other, it would lose connectivity at farther distances.

Packaging

The toy comes in a nice quality small box with cheerful colors. Inside your box is a very easy to understand quick start guide, a manual, a drawstring storage bag, a charger cable, and the Jive Lite itself. It arrived charged and once cleaned it was ready to use.

Materials and care

The Jive Lite is made from a silky smooth, body-safe silicone, and therefore you should use a water-based lubricant with it to avoid damaging the surface. The device is totally waterproof making cleaning easy. I like to use a foaming cleaner designed for toys. It should be cleaned before and after each use.

Special feature

As mentioned earlier, this vibe is app-enabled, which adds a lot of flexibility and fun to the experience. The app itself is pretty well-designed, but unfortunately, it does have some bugs that need to be ironed out. When you open the app, it automatically recognizes your toy and prompts you to connect. It even walks you through the process, which is nice. You hold down the power button on the toy for what feels like a long time, but it’s really just a few seconds until the vibe vibrates twice. Then, you hit “connect” on the app, and the vibe will vibrate twice again to confirm the connection. After that, you’re ready to go!
