Clone-A-Willy: 5 Best Penis-Molding Kits
I have personally tested all but one of the Clone-A-Willy kits in this review — it’s lucky I have a very adventurous and willing partner! I really wanted to love these kits and I think the idea behind them is just fantastic! Unfortunately, there is so much room for error that it’s difficult to a decent looking result. This is definitely more for the experience than the outcome! At least I hope you enjoy my botched attempts and learn from my mistakes, which I happily share below!

Clone-A-Willy is essentially a molding kit that lets you make a silicone copy of any penis. There is also a version for vulvas – Clone-A-Pussy! But the most popular version is the one for making a DIY dildo.
How does it work? You mix an alignate molding powder with water and pour into the tube provided. Then you insert your erect penis into it and wait for it to solidify. After removing your penis, you pour liquid silicone into the mold, push in the vibrator, and let it harden. Once the silicone is set, you peel away the mold, and voila! You have a replica of your willy made of silicone. Just follow the instructions carefully for the best results!
Original Clone-A-Willy Vibrator Molding Kit
- Silicone replica of just the penis (no balls)
- Battery-powered vibrator
- Available in skin tones and solid colors
Pros
- ✅ Can be fun
- ✅ Mold picked up a good amount of detail from dildo
- ✅ Fun gift for long-distance partners
Cons
- ❌ Vibrator is very poor quality
- ❌ Very stiff end result
- ❌ Very easy to mess up mold
- ❌ Silicone had hard lumps that ruined the finished piece
Why I Chose It
I decided to use a dildo for this kit, and found that it was much easier a penis. As a dildo isn’t attached to a body, it’s much easier to slide into the molding alginate from above. All of the videos online show people doing the kit this way, making it look relatively easy, but it’s a whole lot harder to do with a real person! The dildo also had much more pronounced features that the mold was able to pick up better than with a real penis.
That being said, the quality of the finished piece was still pretty poor! You are meant to position the vibrator in the middle of the silicone in the mold, but there is no way of seeing if it’s positioned correctly. In this case, the vibrator sat against the side, meaning there’s a gap where the vibrator shows through. Secondly, the clear silicone already had some semi hard lumps when I mixed it in with the brown silicone and these lumps remained in the final product, meaning there were areas where the silicone hadn’t bonded together and bits could essentially come out of the dildo. Had this not been the case, I think this dildo would have been ok in terms of quality.
Lastly, I have no idea why Clone-A-Willy even bother including the vibrators. They win the award for the weakest, buzziest excuses for vibrators that I’ve ever come across. Annoyingly, you have to use them otherwise you won’t have enough silicone to fill your mold, unless you want to buy extra.
I do think the process can be fun, but the instructions are so specific and there’s such a precise time limit for the steps that you don’t get a lot of time to enjoy the process with your partner.

Vibrations:
Why I Chose It
This was our least successful Clone-A-Willy yet! The results were…shockingly bad! I will take some of the responsibility, as I left the cast to dry out for too long, and I think that’s why the texture ended up looking so crazy.
However, even before that, we could tell that it wasn’t going to be great! We learned from experience that you cannot put the tube onto your erect penis because the molding alginate spills out. Instead, we tried to dunk my partner’s penis down into the tube, but this left us with a weird shape in the balls department. It was also very hard to prevent his body from touching the side of the plastic, resulting in patches where there was no mold.
It was a plus that this kit came with extra molding powder but by this point, we were out of motivation to try again!
Leaving the mold to dry for too long before pouring the silicone resulted in a lumpy texture and in places where the mold was thin, like around the base, it peeled away, leaving even more areas with mold. This then meant that the silicone escaped around the sides of the mold, resulting in caped, fleshy nightmare!
Another issue we had was with the vibrator. Not only was it a hideous flesh-colored thing with a wired controller and terrible vibrations, but it was also impossible to get it to stay inside the silicone, and it kept floating out. This left us with a vibrator that was sticking half in and half out of the dildo.
I think it would be so much easier to get a good mold with a bigger container so there was less risk of hitting the sides. Although, this would of course mean using more materials and companies tend to like keeping that to a minimum!

Glow In The Dark Clone-A-Willy Glow In The Dark Vibrator Molding Kit
- Glow in the dark silicone
- Battery-powered vibrator
Pros
- ✅ Glows brightly
- ✅ Picked up a good amount of detail
- ✅ Funny memory
Cons
- ❌ Not ideal for girthy penises
- ❌ Hard to maintain erection
- ❌ Dildo is very hard
- ❌ Low-quality vibrator
Why I Chose It
This kit I did with partner. It was the first one we tried together, and I would say the result was ok but not great! We realised a little too late just how hard it would be to keep an erection while holding your junk in cold goo for 2 mins, so although we did get it back, the mold had already set too much to capture it’s full potential!
I was quite impressed by the detail it picked up in the head of the penis. Unfortunately, my partner touched the edge of the tube when making the mold, so there’s a section where the dildo is a bit deformed. As the tube is so slim, it’s very difficult to position your penis without touching the edge. It would be a huge improvement if the tube was bigger so there was less chance of this happening.
The dildo also had a lot of rough texture and air bubbles, even though we followed the instructions and tapped it for ages to try and get the bubbles out. I wasn’t impressed enough to try it out but this was our most successful attempt. Unfortunately, the vibrator was the same terrible battery-powered rubbish as the other kit and couldn’t encourage an inch of excitement out of me!
However, I was really impressed by how brightly it glows and it actually startled me when I walked into the dining room in the dark and it was glowing away on the table!
Clone-A-Pussy Clone-A-Pussy Kit
- Create a replica of your vulva
- Comes in skin tones or hot pink
Pros
- ✅ Picks up some good detail
- ✅ Body safe materials
- ✅ Easy to clean up
Cons
- ❌ Doesn't come with a thermometer
- ❌ Only for decorative purposes
- ❌ Messy
- ❌ Expensive to buy more silicone
Why I Chose It
I was actually very excited when it came to my turn! Not so much about the prospect of plunging my bits into the goo but to have a glowing pink homage to my sexuality! I had been brainstorming where I would proudly display my results! I was a disappointed that unlike the Clone-A-Willy kits, this one didn’t come with a thermometer, despite the water needing to be precisely 90 degrees. Luckily, I could use one from the other kits I was reviewing.
The molding process actually went really well and I thought it was much easier to position than the Clone-A-Willy kits. Once the mold had set, I was really impressed with how much detail it had picked up and was so excited to pour in the silicone. Unfortunately, as I poured the silicone in, it all pooled in the labia, leaving the clitoris and hood without any covering. I tried to angle the mold to level out the silicone but it didn’t work.
The end results left me feeling pretty disappointed as one end is almost completely see through. Again, if there was a bigger tray and more silicone, I think this kit would have worked really well but the kits feel like they are being very stingy with the materials. I thought about ordering some more silicone to use in the mold, but I would have had to buy two refills which would have been really expensive. Plus, mold actually dried up and shrivelled, so I wouldn’t have been able to order them in time for the mold to still be usable.
It’s also worth noting that, unlike the other kits, this one doesn’t have any usable functions. I would absolutely love to see this kit as a grinding toy, but that would require more and softer silicone.
Sleeve Molding Kit Clone-A-Pussy Plus +
This is the only kit in the review that I didn’t test, as it was tested by our reviewer, Jason, and his partner! Overall, Jason was “extremely happy with the end result of both the creation” process.
He thought the process was “both awkward an hilarious” but also “bit stressful and time consuming,” which I can definitely relate to! He highlighted the importance of approaching the kit “with an open mind.”
Having also tried some of the Clone-A-Willy kits “with varying degrees of success,” the end product “was better than [he] expected.” He did note that the silicone used for the vulva mold was a lot harder than the TPE sleeve and feels “weird at first but you get used to it fairly quickly and it just becomes an enjoyable experience.” He wasn’t super excited by the internal texture of the sleeve, but that wasn’t the main draw for him, and he was much more interested in the custom, personalised nature of the kit!
He also noticed that this Clone-A-Pussy kit didn’t come with a thermometer. It’s such a strange choice from Empire labs to put them in the Clone-A-Willy kits but not the Clone-A-Pussy ones.
Pros
- ✅ Can be a fun activity
- ✅ You get a personalised sex toy
- ✅ Comes with extra molding powder
Cons
- ❌ Can be stressful
- ❌ Easy to mess up if you are not careful
- ❌ Time is of the essence!
Why I Chose It
The act of making the mold for the sleeve is a bit stressful and time consuming. But, it’s also rewarding for who you are spending time with/for.
The act of making this with a partner is both awkward an hilarious and should be approached with an open mind.
The harder silicone of the exterior mixed with the more flexible TPE of the internal sleeve made it hard to get fully inserted into
The harder silicone of the exterior mixed with the more flexible TPE of the internal sleeve made it hard to get fully inserted into. I found that by removing some of the material around the opening of the TPE sleeve, it was much easier to insert my penis and use. Once you get everything nice and lubed up, the experience goes about like you’d expect. The difference in texture and materials adds a welcome change to some of the other single material masturbators. The internal sleeve texture isn’t anything to write home about but it was satisfactory enough. Overall, I’m extremely happy with the end result of both the creation and testing of my personalized masturbator.

Need Some Help Keeping it Up?
One of the biggest challenges with the Clone-A-Willy Kits is keeping an erection. Me and my partner found that using a penis pump and cock ring really helped!
The Tracey Cox EDGE Automatic Suction Penis Pump
This automatic penis pump is great for getting a strong erection to begin with! It has three levels of suction and can even be used as a stroker so you will get plenty of fun out it!
I recommend putting the pump into action while you are preparing the materials for the mold and then following it up with a cock ring to maintain the result.
Tantus Super Soft C-Ring
The Tantus Super Soft C-Ring is a great quality cock ring that can help trap the blood in your erection so even if you do lose your mojo when you put your penis in the mold, you won’t lose your erection as quickly!
I recommend putting it over the base of the penis pump so you can slide it off the bottom and onto your penis when you are ready!
How to Clone A Willy — My Top Tips
Ok so I know I haven’t had the most successful Clone-A-Willy experiences, I did pick up some invaluable information along the way!
1. Preparation is key
You get almost everything you need to complete the kit but you will need to supply a couple of things yourself. It’s really important to gather these bits before you start so you aren’t wasting precious time looking for them.
You will need:
- Two mixing containers (old yoghurt tubs or the like are great)
- A marker pen
- Scissors
- Stirring stick
- 3×3 inch square of card (for Clone-A-Willy without balls only)
Do this with a partner
If possible do this with your partner so they can prepare the materials while you focus on your erection. Then they can also help provide some inspiration to keep you hard during the process!
Use a Penis Pump and Cock Ring
Even if you usually don’t struggle with erections, this is super helpful! Once your junk hits that cold gooey molding alginate, it’s going to be a really challenge to stay hard! Pump and apply the cock ring just before casting the mold.
Try your best not to touch the sides
We had varying degrees of luck with this. As the tube is so small, it’s very hard to position yourself in the center without touching the sides.
Let the mold set for a few hours
But, don’t let it set for too long! Stick to the guidelines of 4-8 hours. I left mine for too long and the mold started to dry and shrivel.
Is Clone-A-Willy Safe to Use?
Yes! Clone-A-Willy products are made from body-safe, hypoallergenic material, which means that anyone can use them without worry. That said, we would recommend shaving the area before use. Otherwise, you might end up ripping out a few pubes!
The molding powder is made from an algae based powder that is totally body safe — it’s the same stuff that dentist use in your mouth!
The end product is made using platinum cured silicone which body-safe and non-porous!
