Why I Chose It
I crowned the Honcho from Oxballs the overall best large butt plug because it’s big, it’s beautiful, and it’s filling! Plus, as it’s made from squishy silicone, it’s comfortable to wear. Our tester, Ben, loved how the Honcho felt, describing it as “absolutely wonderful and filling.” He liked it so much in fact, he wore it “nearly daily for over a week!”
This is a very girthy butt plug and Ben discovered “there’s a good bit of stretch that has to happen” in a short space of time when inserting it, which will be part of the fun for many! He also noted that although the tip isn’t tapered “the give that the toy has lends to nearly effortless insertion.”
I love that the Honcho combines fun swirling colors with a cheeky, realistic tip and although Ben wasn’t such a fan at first, the design also grew on him!
His only real complaint was that the base could be bigger for peace of mind, especially as the plug itself is so big. That being said, he gave it a good test and found that it did stay securely put outside!

Why I Chose It
I was very impressed to find a large silicone butt plug at this price that also has some clever design features! Our tester, Tom, gave the design a big thumbs up, commenting that the “Unusual shape makes the G-Spot Tickler makes it a winner!”
The most interesting aspect is the asymmetrical design, which he found gave him “a nice full feeling stretch, without it feeling too bulky.” The very tapered end also “made it a lot easier to get started,” so you don’t have to spend as much time warming up with other toys.
He was pleasantly surprised “how comfortable it was to wear longish term” as he was able to wear it for more than twice as long as other large butt plugs he’s tried.
The only reason he didn’t give it full marks was he wished “it was about 25% softer.”

Why I Chose It
I picked the b-Vibe Rimming Plug XL as the best vibrating large butt plug, as I love that it stimulates both internally with vibrations and with rotations around the anus.
Tom reviewed it for us found the vibrations ranged from “gentle to moderate” while the rotating beads gave “a gentle, massaging sensation that was very relaxing.” He liked that “Combining the two upped the ante for a fun relaxing session.”
The shape also worked very well for him, commenting that “plug had a nice taper to it, with a fairly narrow neck in relation to the widest point.” Personally, this is something I really appreciate and look for in a butt plug because it means it much less likely to pop out during use. He also found the design held the plug “snugly in place better than most plugs [he’s] tried.”
A remote control is always a big plus for me when it comes to anal toys, otherwise it feels very awkward to change the settings. Tom did find it came with a bit of a learning curve as “controlling both the vibration in the tip and the beads in the neck independently takes some getting used to.” However, this would be even more difficult without a remote!
Tom did find himself craving a little more size, so I would say butt plug is best for exploring new sensations rather than looking for the most extreme stretch.

Why I Chose It
The SquarePegToys Slink is definitely what I call a project toy, but I really like that the gradual increase in width let’s you conquer it at your own speed! Our tester, George, loved the challenge it gave him on his anal journey and says he is “yet to find any better toy for anal satisfaction.”
It took him three attempts to be able to insert he whole thing, and he found that “twisting it slowly worked.” He enjoyed the “weird satisfaction” that comes with getting the entirety of this massive butt plug in, but also really enjoyed the feeling of the heavy plug coming out.
I like that the tip is very tapered as it’s going to be easier to insert. The gradual increase in size also allows your anus to warm up and stretch out slowly, although George did note that the widest section at the bottom was a “struggle” but “a great type of struggle!”
He commented that “the medium is the perfect” size for his needs, but I really like that there’s a smaller and bigger version so you can find the right size for your tastes.
Personally, I think a suction cup base would make this sometimes unwieldy long butt plug be a little easier to handle, especially when there’s a lot of lube involved.

Why I Chose It
I consider myself intermediate level when it comes to anal play and the Snug Plug 3 was quite a challenge for me! While I love the overall design, it doesn’t come out to play very often simply because of the size.
I’ll admit that the measurements don’t quite live up to the impressive sizes of some of the other massive butt plugs in this review, but the lack of tapered tip, completely rigid construction, and weightiness do make this plug feel bigger than it is.
For me, the biggest challenge is inserting the first half. The barrel shape means you have to stretch quite far in a short amount of time, so I’ve found it absolutely necessary to warm up. However, once it’s in it’s the most comfortable butt plug I’ve ever worn.
I love the thin neck so much! It was much more comfortable as it doesn’t keep the anus stretched and it means the plug stays firmly in place! I could walk around or have sex and it didn’t budge. I may have even done some jumping jacks just to really test it out!
My main critique is that for some reason, b-Vibe’s silicone tends to retain smell more than others I’ve tried, but as long as I clean it very thoroughly straight away and leave it out to dry overnight I’ve managed to avoid this problem.

Why I Chose It
I wanted to include the Oxy Ass Anchor as I think this expanding butt plug is a fun way to feel the stretch without having to insert a huge butt plug!
This large butt plug comes with a bit of a learning curve as the four parts need to be squeezed together to insert it. Our tester, Felicia, found that the “biggest problem with the design is having to hold the bulb closed yourself” and thinks it’s much better suited to partner play.
She did say that she “loved the feel of the plug once it was in” though, noting “it gave a fulfilled, yet empty sensation”
She was also noted that the “hole in the bottom made it so that there was a bit of a “breeze” coming up the tunnel,” which she found surprisingly enjoyable! I can also see this being fun for any curiously kinky partners who want to peek inside!
She was a bit disappointed by the basic packaging and lack of storage bag. However, overall, Felicia was happy with the Ass Anchor, stating it’s the “perfect toy if you’re wanting to explore areas of your body the sun usually doesn’t shine on!”

Why I Chose It
While the Severin isn’t quite as eye-wateringly big as some of the other massive butt plugs in this review, I still think it’s a top-quality large butt plug that’s the perfect transition from medium sized toys to big ones!
Our tester, Jason, found it a little on the small side for his more advanced tastes, but he like that the sectioned design “allows for the toy to be used in a slower manner where each design aspect of it is felt and appreciated more.” He also noted that the “tip is of a good size and shape for easy insertion,” so you can ease yourself into this big butt plug.
He was also a big fan of Tantus’ Ultra Premium Silicone, which he described as “delightfully squishy with just the right balance of firmness to it,” and even went as far as to say “the ultra soft silicone used in this toy has been the highest quality [he’s] ever experienced!”
Having tried other Tantus toys, I can also vouch for the quality of Tantus’ silicone! I’m always impressed by it!

Length and diameter

Shape
Tapered butt plugs like the SquarePegToys Slink or the G-spot Tickler XL are much easier to insert, while barrel shape plugs, like the b-Vibe Snug Plug 3 are more difficult to insert but more comfortable for long term wear! Plugs that stay the same thickness, like the Tantus Inner Band Trainer will keep your sphincter stretched out.
Body-safe materials
When buying extra large butt plugs (or any sex toys, really) you want to go for non-porous and body-safe materials such as silicone, metal, glass, or ABS plastic. I recommend avoiding porous materials like PVC, jelly, or TPE.
Large flared base
