My Verdict
Based on my personal experience (as well as the reviews from the iOS and Google Play Store), I would not recommend the LELO F1S V2 if you only want it for the app capabilities. However, I WOULD recommend it if you just want a male vibrator and don’t really care about how you control it. Despite the issues I had, I thoroughly enjoyed (and continue to enjoy) this toy. The overall performance easily outshines the app issues, and while it would be nice if the app worked as advertised, the device is worth the asking price regardless of the extra features. Initially, I did not like this toy very much, but over time I grew to appreciate it. If you purchase the F1S and find that you don’t enjoy it, I would encourage you to use it for a week and see if you change your tune!

Personal Experience
Expectations
I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I received the LELO F1S. Having only ever used strokers before, I assumed that this device would “finish the job” quite quickly. Personal experiences will vary, but for me, that was not the case.Initial Impressions
In fact, the first time I used the F1S it took me about 45 minutes to finish. The vibrations felt strong, but it was more akin to edging than active masturbation. Since different modes vibrate different parts of the inner sleeve, this took some practice before I was able to use the F1S in a more time-efficient manner. That said, I think that this toy is best enjoyed for longer sessions. It’s important to note that the F1S is a vibrator, not a stroker.An Experienced Insight
Once you master the controls and figure out what feels best where, it’s fairly easy to control the duration of your experience. This is the best part about this toy: it puts you in the driver’s seat! While it is possible to use this device hands-free, you will need to be laying down and have a lot of patience (but it is possible to orgasm this way!). The LELO F1S has a very modern design. Unless you’re right on top of it, the device could easily be mistaken for a portable speaker! The internal sleeve is made from soft silicone. The outside is made of aluminum alloy, with a small window on the side that allows you to look inside of the device. On the top of the device, there are three buttons (+, power, -), the LELO logo, the charging port, and an LED indicator ring. The entire device is waterproof, and nothing about the construction feels cheap.
Ease of Use
This product is very easy to use. After the initial charge, you can turn the device on by pressing the power button (short for manual mode, hold until it starts blinking for app connectivity). From here, you can cycle through the four stored modes by pressing the power button. You’ll be able to see which mode you’re in from the indicator lights! The intensity can be adjusted using the + and - buttons. To turn the device off, simply hold down the power button.
Quality
The overall build quality of this male vibrator is amazing! Not only does it have a sleek and modern design, but it also “feels” premium to the touch. Unlike TPR toys, the silicone sleeve doesn ’t attract a bunch of dirt, lint, or debris, making it extremely easy to keep the toy clean. Despite being exposed to water multiple times, I never had an issue with the device short-circuiting or not working correctly (excluding pre-existing problems). The F1S can be a quiet or a loud toy, depending on the selected intensity and whether or not your penis is inside the sleeve.
Price
Judging the price for this item is challenging because of the issue I ran into with it. Assuming the device worked 100%, I would say that it’s worth the $220 MSRP. However, with the app problems I experienced (detailed below), I would say a more reasonable price would be $150-170. The overall quality is great, and it’s hard to completely fault the device for well-documented Bluetooth issues that aren’t specifically limited to this toy alone. Whether or not you should buy it depends on how often you plan on using it. For daily use, it’s definitely worth it. For occasional use? Wait for a sale.
Performance
I could not get the Bluetooth app to control the device. This was interesting because the app connected to the device and the system sensors were working. However, unless you merely want to check the ambient temperature of the room you’re in (literally the only thing I could do), it’s pretty useless. Not only would the app not actively control the device, but it also wouldn’t allow me to change the saved settings. App issues aside, this device performs as promised. The vibrations are very deep, resonating throughout your entire penis shaft and into your body. When using the F1S, you can expect about two hours of use for two hours of charging.
Packaging
The LELO F1S comes in a small black box with a partially clear front that allows you to see inside the box. Once you open it up, you’ll reveal the device itself, and eventually reach the charging cord, mini instruction manual (which directs you to the full manual online), a warranty card, two packets of “personal moisturizer”, and instructions on how to use the personal moisturizer. The back of the box provides some additional information about the device.
Materials and care
The device doesn’t come with a storage box, but you can store it in the packaging if you wish. Since the non-porous silicone sleeve of the F1S doesn’t attract any debris, I simply left it on a table. Cleaning this toy is extremely easy: you can clean the aluminum alloy exterior separately with a wipe, or wait until you clean the rest of the device. To clean the sleeve, simply use warm water and antibacterial soap. To dry, simply place the device sleeve-down to drip-dry or place it in front of a fan before storage.
Special feature
One of the most highly-marketed features of the F1S V2 is the app capabilities. However, I was unable to get the app to control the device. It would recognize the sensors within the device and form a connection, but the app appeared to be unable to send data to the device: it could only receive data. There is an SDK available, so perhaps I will try that and update this review later on. However, in regards to the consumer app, it appears my experience is fairly commonplace. Currently, the LELO F1S app has a 2.7/5 on the iOS App Store and a 1.5/5 on the Google Play Store. If you only want the F1S for its app abilities then I would be hesitant to recommend it, despite it exceeding my expectations in every other regard.
