LELO Lyla 2 Review
My Verdict
I think the LELO Lyla 2 is great quality egg vibrator with a super sexy and elegant design. The Sense Motion remote control is a really cool feature, and once you get over the learning curve it's fun to play around with. Will I use it regularly? Probably, not. The vibrations just weren't strong enough for me (my eternal struggle with LELO toys). Even when using it as a clit vibrator, I felt that the vibrations made my fingers a bit numb when holding it. Of course, the fact that it's so quiet makes it great for any public play outings with my partner, but I don't see myself using it for much else.

Personal Experience
I was super excited to test out the LELO Lyla 2 because I’ve wanted a remote controlled egg vibrator for a while. I’ve recently discovered that wearable, internal vibrations can do wonders for me as extended foreplay. Boring household chores have never been more fun (especially if my partner is there with a remote to make things a bit more *varied*)!
Steep Learning Curve…
The first time I tried out the LELO Lyla 2, I was quickly humbled. I could not get that remote to work! I was studying the user manual for about 10 minutes getting more and more frustrated until I found out that the remote was upside down. Pro tip: learn how to use the remote in sufficient lighting! However, I didn’t exactly find that it got any easier once I was pressing the right buttons. It didn’t seem like connection between the remote control and the vibrator itself was great. Of course, pointing the remote directly at the vibrator helped a little but it still wasn’t perfect. This was fine for solo play, but it was really difficult during partnered play, since my partner couldn’t tell which sensations I was feeling through the egg vibrator.Soft & Sensual Vibrations
I could forgive the tricky remote control if the sensations were out of this world. I’m sad to announce that the vibrations are a lot more soft and sensual than I prefer them to be. They were still very deep and rumbly and overall pleasant. For me to build towards an orgasm, though, I need something a bit more intense. This is definitely more an issue of personal preference since I’m sure others would still find the vibrations really nice.Design
The design is probably my favorite thing about the LELO Lyla 2. It's so sleek and sexy with the smooth, matte silicone and the gold metallic accents. It definitely both looks and feels luxurious! I like that the egg is shaped to target your g-spot and that the slightly tapered tip makes insertion super easy.
Ease of Use
Alright, someone with a bit more technical *flair* may have a much easier time using the LELO Lyla 2 than I did. Regardless, the Sense Motion remote definitely comes with a learning curve. I still don't quite have the hang of it, and while I do take most of that blame, I still don't think the connection between the remote and the vibrator is perfect. I have experienced that some remote control (or app controlled) toys don't work flawlessly with insertable toys when you've got large thighs like me. Perhaps that contributes to the problem here as well. Either way, it's something to keep in mind before buying the LELO Lyla 2. In terms of charging, the ABS plastic bit of the egg twists right off to reveal the charging port. The battery in the remote can easily be replaced by using the "key" to twist the cap off here as well.
Quality
There's no denying that the LELO Lyla 2 is premium quality toy. The materials are high quality and 100% body-safe, the vibrations are deep and rumbly and the features are pretty cool. My only issue is that the vibrations are almost too soft for my personal taste.
Price
The LELO Lyla 2 is pretty expensive for an egg vibrator. LELO products are generally quite expensive but they're also well known for producing premium quality sex toys. This is also the case for the LELO Lyla 2. However, since it's it's not a personal favorite of mine, it's not really worth that price for me.
Performance
The vibrations in the LELO Lyla 2 didn't quite live up to my expectations. I didn't find that the internal stimulation was intense enough for me to even build towards an orgasm. Still, it was a pleasurable rumble that could be enjoyed during oral sex or other types of clitoral stimulation. It can technically be used externally but when I tried using it on my clit, my fingers quickly got numb from the vibrations. That said, I don't think this is an indication of a poor quality construction since the vibrations were still really rumbly and deep.
Packaging
LELO packaging is always super sleek and luxurious. It's another great benefit of purchasing products from there. The whole experience is very exclusive and elegant. The LELO Lyla 2 comes with a black storage pouch, a sachet of lube, a user manual, and a warranty certificate.
Materials and care
The LELO Lyla 2 is made of silicone and ABS plastic which are both non-porous and body-safe materials. The egg vibrator itself is waterproof and super easy to clean in warm water and a mild, unscented soap. The remote control is only splashproof and can be wiped down with a damp cloth. Once both the vibrator and the remote are dry, you can put them safely away in the storage bag!
Special feature
What stands out about the LELO Lyla 2 is definitely the Sense Motion remote control. This technology allows you to control the vibrations in the egg by either tilting the remote itself (holding it horizontally puts it at 10% vibration strength and holding it vertically puts it at 100%) or moving it around (the faster the movement, the stronger the vibrations). There’s also a setting that makes the remote control itself vibrate in synchronization with the egg vibrator. This makes it easier for a partner to tune in on what’s going on inside of you while using the Sense Motion technology. That said, this was one of the things I struggled with as I didn’t feel like the vibrations in the remote control were synced up with the egg vibrator.
