Reflections on the Lelo Gigi 2

The Lelo Gigi 2 has some pretty serious sex toy pedigree. Not only is it made by one of the most well-known luxury sex toy brands out there, it’s also known by the moniker of ‘the world’s best-selling g-spot vibrator’. That’s a big achievement, but the real question for me is… is it good? I previously gave the Lelo Soraya 2 rabbit vibrator a whirl, and there was a lot I liked about it – the powerful, rumbly vibrations, the high-quality silicone, and more. So, I was excited to experience something similar, but with a slimmer, more ergonomically-designed shape that might suit my body (and my tastes) a little better. And, after I gave the Gigi 2 a go… I’m still not sure what to think about it!
My Likes
Let’s start with the positives. The shape? Amazing! The slim, slightly curved shaft made it a breeze to maneuver comfortably, and it found my g-spot almost immediately. Then there’s its signature flattened tip, which really did seem to live up to the hype. It allowed much greater contact with my g-spot than other insertable vibrators, and I was able to move it around comfortably for a real g-spot massage. I tried it out as a g-spot vibrator, obviously, but it also saw quite a lot of use as a clitoral stimulator, too. It just seemed natural, as it’s pretty small and lightweight, so my arm and wrist didn’t get too tired. All good so far, right? After experiencing all of this great stuff, I was getting really excited about the Gigi 2. But then I tried to up the intensity of the vibrations, which is where it went kind-of downhill…My Dislikes
The Lelo Gigi 2 doesn’t produce anything like the powerful vibrations of other Lelo products like the Soraya 2. They’re rumbly, sure, but they seem to stay at a quiet, conservative level that, for me, leaves a lot to be desired. It’s not that the weaker vibrations didn’t work at all – it’s just that they took forever to do anything! I found myself feeling frustrated after a while of using it, which, annoyingly, made things take even longer. This was especially true during partner sex. When I use vibrators with my partner, I prefer something that’s going to help me orgasm without a long wait. However, at some points using the Gigi 2, I had to concede that it wasn’t going to happen anytime soon, and my boyfriend should probably not have hold things back any longer. Instead, I continued using it on my own (with some help from him), which was okay in the end, but not the best feeling in the world. Using it for solo sessions, I found myself getting frustrated that it would get me close, but not quite over the line. A few times, I switched at the end to the more powerful We-Vibe Tango X to finish things off. Perhaps if Lelo had added one or two higher vibration speeds to the Gigi 2, it could’ve become one of my favorites.

My perspective on the design

Perhaps the Lelo Gigi 2's greatest selling point is its flattened tip, designed for perfect, broad-yet-firm g-spot massage. I was a huge fan of it – the amount of surface area it covered made for some really great sensations. The rest of the shaft is slim and curved, which made it comfortable to insert and use without a whole load of prep. However, I feel like Lelo is very attached to designing sex toys that are part silicone- and part plastic-covered. Of course, this isn't a bad thing in itself (just look at how much I loved the We-Vibe Tango X), but sometimes it does create crevices where stuff can get lodged.
The Lelo Gigi 2: User Convenience

The Lelo Gigi 2 is very approachable for beginners. It's small and lightweight, and the slim shaft is perfect for those who don't have a ton of experience with insertable toys or penetration in general. One thing I do like about the hard plastic handle is that it makes the buttons so much easier to use. Even with the more complex controls, they're easy to locate and make a click-y sound when pressed – way easier than silicone-covered buttons. If I'm being nitpick-y, it's a little annoying and unintuitive that the patterns don't cycle though. If you're exploring them and want to go back to the beginning, then you have to click the 'back' button all the way back to the start.
Evaluating the Quality of the Lelo Gigi 2

The Gigi 2 is a Lelo product, and it carries the same hallmark of quality as any other Lelo toy. The silicone is smooth and velvet-y soft, the construction is solid, there's no rattle-y parts. It just works, and that reliability is not to be underestimated!
Cost of the Lelo Gigi 2

Another common theme of Lelo's products is their premium price tags. The Lelo Gigi 2 is not cheap! Of course, the quality and power of this vibrator warrant a price that takes into account all of these features, but I would say that the Gigi 2 isn't particularly accessible financially-speaking to those who don't have a lot of sex toy experience or aren't sure about committing to such a high-price toy. Yet, in a way that's exactly who the Gigi 2 is aimed toward.
Testing the Limits of the Lelo Gigi 2

The vibrations from the Lelo Gigi 2 are, in my opinion, a bit of a mixed bag. Rumbles? Yes, definitely – the vibrations are super deep and rumbly, making for an excellent g-spot massage. But powerful? Not so much. I'm not someone who can only function with the world's most powerful wand vibrator or whatever, but I do need vibrations that are on the stronger side. I spoke more in detail about my experiences above, but the short version is that, both as a g-spot vibrator and a clitoral one, the Gigi 2 never quite reached the peaks I was hoping for.
Assessing the Packaging of the Lelo Gigi 2

The Gigi 2's packaging follows the standard Lelo packaging conventions, and I quite like it! The black and gold feels luxurious, like opening a really nice gift, but it does also feel a little flimsy. Inside, you also get a satin storage pouch, a small sachet of lube, a quick instruction manual and a warranty card for one year.
Exploring the Materials and Care

As I mentioned earlier, all of the Lelo Gigi 2's materials feel super high-quality. I love the silicone on Lelo products – it's always so silky soft that you just want to touch it. It's made with 100% non-porous materials and is completely waterproof, so it can be cleaned with good old soap and water. The issue with having a hard plastic handle is that there is a slight gap where the two materials meet. After you've used it, you really have to get in there with your nail or some other poke-y device to clean out all the residue – which isn't the most fun experience.
Special feature

Perhaps the biggest stand-out feature of the Lelo Gigi 2 is its larger, flattened tip. It is designed to have greater contact with your g-spot than other, more traditionally-shaped g-spot vibrators, which means greater pleasure for you! The g-spot, which is actually a part of your clitoris that extends inside your body, is a patch of tissue on the front wall of your vagina (towards your belly, not your bum), about 2 inches in. It’s incredibly sensitive, and can produce amazing sensations when touched and massaged. Some vagina-owners can orgasm from g-spot stimulation alone, while others can feel the benefits of blended g-spot and clitoral stimulation. The flat tip provides a larger surface area to put pressure on and massage the g-spot, and for the Gigi 2’s vibrations to do their magic.
