Lovehoney Kama Sutra Playing Cards
My Verdict
These playing cards are a great way to inspire new positions in the bedroom, for you and a partner to recreate. With the access to 52 different positions, the Lovehoney Kama Sutra playing cards allows you to play traditional card games, with a naughty twist. If you are looking for game inspiration or an explaination of how to do each position, then this isnt the pack for you, but if you are comfortable using your imagination or memory of how to play Black Jack or (strip) poker, then I would highly recommend this product to you!

Personal Experience
Poker Face
I am a fan of card games as much as the next person, but when the Karma Sutra was thrown in the mix, I was extra excited. The idea of combining a deck of cards and different sex positions in any ‘Sex Experts’ dream. The pack of cards look like any other – the same box size, the same amount of cards and clear labelling of all the suits. They really are just a deck of cards. But it is certainly more difficult to concentrate! When I first opened the pack, I was shocked to see a real man and woman! I have played multiple sex games before, and you often find that if there are position demonstrations, it is often drawn out with cartoon characters or silhouette figures. If I was one of these people’s friends, I would clearly be able to identify them! I have seen many a naked person over my time, and being naked is a common occurrence in the sex industry, but on my playing cards, 2 real people demonstrating sex positions, I felt slightly more uncomfortable than I would if they were cartoons or illustrations. Don’t get me wrong, it is great for those who have never seen the positions before and want to recreate, as it is so graphic! I just hope both the models were single on the day of the photo shoot… or a couple!Did Lovehoney Ace it?
When I first read the packaging of ‘Kama Sutra Playing Cards’ I couldn’t help but let out a little giggle. Immediately the image entered my head of playing my typical Saturday night Poker with my 2 boy housemates and seeing their faces when I decide to swap the pack! When it came to playing with the cards, as cards, they worked great. 4 suits, 52 cards and 2 jokers, which were made of good quality card and plastic and would be a novelty prank or gift to give as a funny Secret Santa. When it came to using them with the Kama Sutra in mind, my opinion slightly damped. When flicking through the cards first time round, I immediately noticed some repetitions of positions, only differing slightly. I guess it is difficult to find 52 completely different positions, but they could have tried slightly harder. Some of the positions also look a bit above my fitness level, for ‘The Hammock’ is a bit much for me! But if you find you are a bit vanilla when it comes to trying out different ways to have sex, then it is certainly sparks imagination and inspiration.Dealers Choice
If you are looking for a sex position game, that comes with instructions and explanations of how to complete the position, then this is not the card game for you. But if you don’t mind making up games and exploring your imagination with what you can do with 52 different positions, then I would recommend it!Design
I think the design of the cards are simple and generic - almost a bit cheesy. On first impressions, I don't like the colour purple and all the love hearts on the pack. I recognise the Lovehoney's logo is a love heart, but the love heart design on the front of the pack is a little cheap and rushed to me. For a game/deck of cards that is aimed towards both men and women, why have they made it primarily 'female targeted'? Moving on from the outside, what's inside is a lot better. The suits and the numbers on the cards are easy to recognise and read, as well as the red and black colours. The positions and models are clear and easy to see - each position being easy to replicate. I like the way some of the positions use a visible bed or chair, so that you can get ideas on how sit. I have often found that most games use positions that are either lying down or standing up, so it is nice that they have spiced it up with different objects, like a chair or seating block.
Ease of Use
The cards are so easy to use - they are made of good quality plastic covered card, making them slippery and easy to deal and play with. The cardboard box is easy to store them away and open and close, as well as each card being easy to read and replicate. The hardest part was opening the deck itself, with both the box and the inner pack of cards being wrapped in plastic.
Quality
I found the quality of this product great - the feel of the cards are very smooth and were very easy to deal. I am no card dealer or professional poker player myself, so to me they were exactly what I was looking for. When it came to the quality of the images, they were also great, almost too clear! Each position had been directed clear and accurately, with a good use of props. The cardboard box that the cards came in is a good storage box, to keep them hidden away from curious eyes... Something that they could have included in the box, is a small booklet with some different game instructions and ideas. This would turn it into a more usable game, rather than just a deck of cards.
Price
I think the price is reasonable for this deck of cards - A normal pack itself is probably just over half the price, but as you are receiving a game and demonstrations of 52 different sex positions, I think it is priced well. A 3 in 1 - a deck of playing cards, different sex postions and the opportunity to play multiple card or sex games, the price is fair and reasonable.
Performance
The cards are great to use for a game of black jack or (strip) poker - They are easy to read and use. For inspiration of different positions, I don't agree as much. When flicking through the cards and comparing the positions, I would say about 40-45 are useful, with a handful of positions being repeated. I guess if you spread the 'repeated' positions to the front, middle and back of the pack, and use them as a 'One position every week for a year', you might not notice the repetition as much. But if you're planning on playing snap with this deck, you might actually get somewhere! I understand that 52 completely different position may be a difficult task to fulfil, but don't promise it if you are unable to hide it! Also be aware that some positions are physically quite challenging, with some level of fitness/flexibility needed.
Packaging
One of my number one pet peeves, is unnecessary packaging - this product unfortunately hit that nerve pretty hard. The deck of cards was plastic wrapped of which I appreciated, so that I knew the product hadn't be tampered with or previously opened. But when I had opened the box, I was very disappointed to see that the inner cards were also plastic wrapped. Why?! Lovehoney, please only wrap either the outside box or the inner cards, it is exactly the same! And if you really want to get in my good books, wrap the outside box of cards in paper, it would still tell me that the cards were untampered and unopened. The packaging could have also indicated what type of sex positions were in the pack, as there is no indication what sex it is aimed towards - On first opening is the only time you realise it is for a heterosexual couple (PIV sex positions).
Materials and care
The cards are not waterproof and should be kept stored in their storage box when not in use. They are not to be bent or ripped, as they can easily be damaged if they are handled without some consideration. The cardboard box has some level of fragility, as it is simply made out of paper card.
