Personal Experience
Yet Another C-Shaped Vibrator!
The c-shaped vibrators seem to be all the rage nowadays, allowing for dual stimulation, blended orgasms, and play with a partner. I think every sex toy brand out there has created their own version of this type of vibrator. Some are expensive and include all the bells, whistles and settings you desire. Still others are affordable and not as fancy as the others. Well, we are going to try out the Lovehoney branded c-shaped vibrator, known as the Sweet Curve.Not Really My Thing, But….
Okay, I’ll admit that c-shaped vibrators aren’t really my thing. it’s not because I don’t like them, or think they’re not an amazing invention. Oh no. On the contrary, I have an issue with c-shaped vibrators fitting my anatomy. I’m not sure if my g-spot is in a different area or my clitoris is too high, but most c-shaped vibrators that aren’t bendable, just don’t fit me. Furthermore, being a bit older, having a toy crammed inside WITH a penis just isn’t comfortable anymore. However, when I was younger, wetter and more ‘flexible” down there, I would have been all over this. But alas, this sort of toy wasn’t available at that time. BUT, I was still able to give this one a try, solo and tell you what I think.A Choice of Thrills
What I really like about the Lovehoney Sweet Curve is that I had a choice of where I want the most stimulation. You see, one end houses the bigger motor and is shaped to press against the g-spot with concentrated vibrations. The other end features 2 arms, each with their own little motors, which allow for vulva and clitoral stimulation. And if you like both types of stimulation, like I do, you can switch it up and use it either way. I REALLY like the fact that the arms give broader stimulation around the clitoris, covering the clitoral complex and the clitoris indirectly. Most people with vaginas don’t realize that laying something on either side of the clitoris and vagina, still stimulates the clitoris, just deeper. And if you let that vibration lay there, it builds, allows the clitoris to swell, and signals the uterus to move out of the way for penetrative sex (something known as tenting). Therefore, I like this particular design much better than the single tail c-shaped vibrator designs.If You Enjoy Buzzy Vibrations, You’ll Love the Sweet Curve
I didn’t care for the vibrations a great deal, as they are very buzzy and I enjoy more rumbly, deeper vibration. So, the Sweet Curve took quite a while to work on my g-spot. The arms, while still buzzy, had no issue bringing me to a fast clitoral orgasm…. which did cause those orgasmic contractions, making the head of the toy press against my g-spot and starting the orgasmic chain reaction of the lovely blended O. The design of the Sweet Curve works for me, as I love the two arms that give clitoral complex and clitoral stimulation. The main part isn't too big and does snuggle right up against the g-spot. The remote control is a huge plus, so it can be used solo or with a partner. The purple color doesn't make the Sweet Curve look like a high quality sex toy, but the nice silicone does feel expensive. And although I had a difficult time with the toy fitting my body, the design is definitely well thought out and should work for the majority of users.
Ease of Use
The Lovehoney Sweet Curve is somewhat easy to use, depending on which way you place the toy. For instance, when using the larger vibrator internally, and the arms externally, it stays in place for the most part. However, using it the opposite way, makes it bottom heavy and it does slip around a lot more. So, you'll probable need to hang onto it or find a position that helps keep it in place. Otherwise, the Sweet Curve isn't too heavy, it's easy to handle and is something people with grip or small motor issues would love.
Quality
Lovehoney has a reputation for making quality sex toys and the Sweet Curve is no different. Sure, it's a lot like many c-shaped toys out there, but they don't come with the Lovehoney guarantee. Now the color of the toy does cheapen the look a bit, but the finish looks and feels amazing. The Sweet Curve is a fun toy for public play, however, you probably won't want to leave the house or be in a crowd because it's definitely not a quiet toy. Yes, even inside the body, you can hear it. The remote works well, although the plastic gives it a cheap look.... and whatever you do, don't step on it! Overall, the toy is nice, sturdy, reliable and backed by a great warranty.
Price
When comparing the Sweet Curve with other c-shaped vibrators, the price is well worth it! I've seen off-brands like this that cost much more. The Sweet Curve includes the toy, a pin-type USB charger, a remote control with button-style battery included, and a manual that talks about button cell battery safety. Considering the quality silicone, the design and the Lovehoney guarantee, this toy is well worth the money.
Performance
Performance-wise, is where the Lovehoney Sweet Curve falls short, in my opinion. All of the motors have very buzzy vibration, which some people don't care for. So you're not getting a deeper stimulation, as you receive when using a more rumbly vibration. Additionally, there's an issue with the arm vibrators. You must have the large vibrator running for the arms to work, so you cannot use them independently. Plus, the remote times out and stops working in about 2 minutes, if you stop pressing buttons. So, you have to pull the vibrator out, resync it with the remote and start over, which is completely inconvenient. Couple those issues with the vibrator being on the loud side, eh, thank goodness it's inexpensive. Otherwise, the Sweet Curve charged quickly, held its charge and worked well.
Packaging
The Sweet Curve packaging is extremely basic with a photo of the product on the box, instructions for use and warnings on the dangers of children eating button cell batteries. The box is somewhat thin and really wouldn't be the sturdiest to keep for storage. However, if you need the instructions, I'd suggest cutting them off the box and keeping them with the toy, remote and charger - maybe in a sex toy storage bag.
Materials and care
The Lovehoney Sweet Curve is made from silicone, therefore you should always use water-based lubricant when you play. When cleaning, you can submerge the Sweet Curve in warm water and use a mild soap to clean it. If you happen to get the remote a little sticky, use a damp cloth or a sex toy wipe to keep it clean. Then, be sure everything is dry before storing.
