Lovense Lush 4 Review

Personal Experience

I’ve tried one egg vibrator before, the OhMiBod Esca 2, and loved it. However, the Esca 2 is a little outdated and a little weak, so once the opportunity arose to try out the newest addition to the famous Lovense Lush family, I had to accept. As soon as I unboxed it, I knew it was on a different level. Playing around with the manual controls on the toy itself, I noticed how strong the vibrations were. They’re pretty rumbly, too — not on the same level as the We-Vibe Tango X or the Doxy Die Cast Wand, but still very nice and deep. I couldn’t wait to try it out!

Design

Like most Lovense vibrators, the Lush 4 only comes in one color: hot pink. Is it my favorite? Absolutely not, but it's totally do-able for me. I do feel that they should offer other options, though, especially for those who have vulvas but don't identify as female and/or don't want a super feminine vibrator. Apart from that though, I think this vibe has a classic design to it that should work for most bodies.

Ease of Use

The Lush 4 is pretty user-friendly. The egg portion has an ergonomic shape that makes it easy to insert (with a little lube to help), and the end of the tail is large enough to find and press without having to look. Connecting it to my Lovense Remote app was incredibly easy, since I already had it downloaded and was logged in. I simply turned the vibe on, clicked 'Add Toy' and the app did the rest. If this is your first Lovense toy, there will be a few extra steps, but it's still very straightforward. Controlling it from my partner's phone took a little longer, but we still got there with minimal fuss.

Quality

The Lush 4 does not disappoint in terms of quality. It's sturdy, strong and flawlessly made. The vibrations rumble nicely with no rattling or buzzing, and the app connection works fantastically. You can tell that there's a lot of work that's gone into making this a top-quality toy that lasts a long time.

Price

On the Lovense website, the Lush 4 is $129, which is $10 more than the older Lush 3. That's not cheap, but it's nowhere near as expensive as many other vibrators out there! I think it's worth it, and I would recommend it to anyone who thinks they might enjoy this kind of vibe. However, I wish I knew why they decided not to include a storage pouch in the box. It's a small thing, but it really does irk me when you get a nice toy that you want to keep safe and clean, but you aren't provided with a way to do so.

Performance

Wow, this toy made me feel good! It's powerful and decently rumbly, and pretty quiet to boot. It gave me all the good feelings of my previous egg vibrator experiences, without the headaches and frustrations of outdated, poorly-designed technology. The battery life is also pretty stunning, especially for a mere 50 minute charge time.

Packaging

I'm so happy that Lovense seem to have ditched the plain white box with black text in favor of something a little more aesthetically-pleasing. There's a pink outer sleeve with a silver outline of the toy on the front, and then an inner box with a hygiene seal that contains the toy, a charging cable and a user manual. Of course, like most people, I didn't end up keeping the packaging, but opening it up did contribute to the feeling that I was opening something premium and special.

Materials and care

The majority of the Lush 4 is coated in non-porous, body-safe silicone, which feels soft and smooth to the touch. The tip of the tail, where the light is, is made from what they describe as 'electroplated plastic'. I've never heard of that particular material before in my experience of sex toy testing, but it seems innocuous enough, since ABS plastic is also non-porous and body-safe. This toy is totally waterproof, which makes cleaning easy. Simply use some warm water and a mild, unscented soap, making sure to get into all the crevices, especially where the silicone meets the plastic.

Special feature

The Lovense Remote app is one of the best and most well-developed sex toy apps around. It gives the ability to control the intensity of your vibes, create patterns on the fly, and, of course, have a partner take control of your toy from anywhere in the world. It also has the ability to sync the vibes to ambient sounds or music from your app of choice. For the Lush 4, it’s also the only way you can turn off the LED light on the tail, which I don’t love. Something that was new to me is the number of games and other interactive features that Lovense have added, including single- and multiplayer games as well as AI-powered characters.
