Design

The Cluster Buster controller unit looks exactly how I would imagine an E-stim power pack and controller would look! Mostly it just looks like a generic piece of electrical equipment, a bit like a measuring device of some sorts! I think for what is, the design is quite nice. It's small enough to hold in your hand and the smooth bevelled edges make it comfortable to hold. The Sultry Sub also has a nice non-intrusive design. I really like the clip on the back means it can secured onto clothes or a sheet so it doesn't get knocked about or lost during play. It's also smart that the clip can be removed to reveal the poppers that attach to the self adhesive pads.

Ease of Use

For such an intimidating looking piece of kit, the Cluster Buster wasn't too hard to figure out. I have to say, before actually getting the set, I was a bit confused by the online descriptions and feel they could be a little clearer. However, when I had the product in my hands and the instructions in front of me, it was pretty easy to work out. Yes, it does take a bit of time to learn the buttons and I do recommend taking the time fully read the instructions and figure out how to change all the settings before you jump right in, so you don't actually shock anyone on full blast! The instructions booklet also explains some cool features, including the shock button and how to disable it, how to control multiple Sultry Sub receivers, how to set the automatic shut-off timer, and the pelvic floor training mode. It also has a breakdown of all the different stimulation modes, although I have to admit, I was a bit lost with all the different impulse width and frequency measurements. I also wish there was a bit more information about where to place the self-adhesive electrodes. It seems a little easier with two monopole pads as you place them either side of the area you want to stimulate but it was a little trickier with this larger bipolar one.

Quality

So far I'm impressed by the quality of the Cluster Buster. The stimulation feels great and it the whole kit works really smoothly. I haven't had the chance to test it out with multiple Sultry Subs yet, so I would be interested to see how well it works in a more complex set up and for use on multiple people at one time. I love that kit comes in a hard shell zip up case so you can keep all the bits safe and sound. It's gives makes it feel more like a professional piece of kit! I also really like the charging cable that comes with the kit as it's retractable and splits into two so you can charge both the controller and the Sultry Sub at the same time.

Price

The Cluster Buster retails for around $200 upwards, depending on the store. This is a considerable investment. I would say this is worth it if you specifically want to be able to control multiple toys remotely. If you simply want to a power unit to connect a toy to, you might want to look for a more basic, cheaper model. I would say it's also a little disappointing it only comes with self-adhesive pads and no internal electrodes.

Performance

So far the Cluster Buster has performed really well! Each time I used it everything worked smoothly and the electro-stimulation feels great! The effect obviously differs depending on which attachments you use but both me and my partner have enjoyed it! I will say, I've found the bipolar self-adhesive pads that come with the set a bit limited in their use, as it's hard to find a good position for them. You really do need to have other attachments to make the most of this toy. The battery holds up really well and has lasted through some decently long sessions. A big plus of electro-stimulation is that it's totally silent so you can play discreetly, although I can't guarantee the person on the receiving end will be equally as quiet!

Packaging

The Cluster Buster comes packaged in a cardboard box with a picture of the device on the outside. The box has a fairly basic design but it does the job and has some basic information about the toy on it as well. The box quickly went in the recylcing though as it comes with a lovely hard shell zip up case to keep all the bits safe.

Materials and care

Both the Cluster Buster Control Unit and the Sultry Sub are made of hard plastic and should be kept dry at all times. The self adhesive pads that come with the toy can be reused a multiple times before needing to be replaced. The package says to put the adhesive pad back on the protective foil it came with and to store it in the ziplock bag in the fridge. It also says that if you take it out and it doesn't feel sticky, you can put a small dab of water on it to make it sticky again. Once that trick no longer works and the pads aren't sticky, they should be thrown out and replaced.

Special feature

The Cluster Buster has quite a unique set up that allows you to control infinite numbers of toys and control multiple people with their own channel. The Cluster Buster control has 8 channels that you can control separately. This means you could be controlling 8 people separately! This is done by using Sultry Subs (the receiving device that connects to the toy) that are on different channels. The kit comes with one channel one Sultry Sub, and you need to purchase the others separately. You can have as many Sultry Subs on each channel as you like. So for example, you can have one person set up with four channel 1 Sultry Subs and connected toys, another person with 3 channel two Sultry Subs and connected toys, and so on. It sounds complicated but once you’re set up, it’s super easy to switch between the different channels using the control unit. While I don’t really have the need for so many channels or toys, I can imagine this would be a LOT of fun for group sex situations with one person in charge!
