However, it is generally aimed at couples who don’t routinely get kinky with each other — Cassie found that “although some of the prompts were fun to act out, we do often find ourselves doing a lot of this stuff in our sex life already“.

One more thing to keep in mind that is that the game does ask you to do some preparation beforehand. Some of the challenges encourage you to use props like juicy fruits, whipped cream and ice cubes, and others suggest going to other locations (like a different room) to carry out the actions. Luckily, there are no issues with skipping whichever challenges aren’t convenient for you at that moment.

Why I Chose It

I’m someone who loves incorporating dirty talk into my bedroom activities, but my partner is not someone naturally inclined to talk dirty. The Lovehoney Oh! Talk Dirty playing cards were an unexpectedly perfect way for us to find new things to say and new ways to excite each other. On the outside, it might look just like an unassuming pack of cards, but once you take one out, the spiciness is immediately apparent!

Of course, you can use these to play regular old card games, but Lovehoney also include several other games to play. I know sexual board games can be a little intimidating, as you don’t know how kinky it’s going to get! I chose these cards as the best option for beginners because they keep it relatively tame and it doesn’t have to actually involve doing anything…unless you want to of course!

Isabelle tested them out and thought “Both the question cards and the suggested forfeits lie on the more vanilla end of the spectrum.” While it wasn’t quite as kinky as our more-experienced reviewer had hoped, I can see this being a great introduction to kinky sex. Isabelle enjoyed the would-you-rather format (and I mean, who doesn’t!) and thought they were great for couples who want to have “more open sexual conversations but aren’t sure how to start.”

Why I Chose It

A long, intimate board game is fun, but sometimes I’m more in the mood for a quick, spontaneous game of something flirty. That’s where I think the Sexy 6 dice set is a fantastic little tool. The 6 dice give you a full scenario to play out, which both my partner and I really enjoyed when we didn’t feel like we had the imagination to come up with things to do on our own. Rather than defaulting to what we always do, it got us to try new things and be more spontaneous with each other.

Another way we enjoyed using the Sexy 6 dice was to use just a couple of them, like ‘What’ and ‘Where (on the body)’. Why I Chose It

Oral Fun really surprised me with how it got stuck into the action from the very beginning! This oral sex-themed board game involves travelling around the board and performing tons of different BJ- or cunnilingus-related challenges with your partner. Each space has a different action for him or her, and no two are the same. It does require quite a few extra accessories to have at hand, but most of them are pretty commonplace. You can skip some of them if you’d prefer to, but I was actually very glad that it prompted me to go out and buy some flavored lube!

Admittedly, my partner and I did struggle with it in the beginning, because we started from zero and felt a bit awkward going straight into the oral. But, we very quickly found the fun and hilarity in this high-intensity game! It was also nice to get some fresh oral inspiration, and to learn more about the kinds of things my partner enjoyed most.

If you’re not a trivia person, then you might feel a bit sceptical. Unlike other sexy games, Oral Fun is partly built around answering trivia questions, rather than answering questions about each other. However, you could play it without them if you choose, or switch them out for intimate questions you ask each other. Drinking is also built-in to the game, which may or may not be your bag, but it could very easily be a soda rather than champagne!

As well has having a great name, Sex!!! is a very simple sexual board game that’s ideal for those who prefer getting down and dirty to sitting and talking. Each space on the board is a different action that you’ll need to perform on your partner(s), similar to how you might use sex dice!

When Isabelle tested it out, she loved that “it’s a very straightforward game with few rules, which is great for rule averse people like myself“. While not a huge board game fan, Isabelle thought that using a game like this as inspiration for getting intimate together was a nice change from the norm. Additionally, there are no gendered questions or detailed challenges, making it both quick to play and also much more inclusive to non-heterosexual, non-cisgendered and non-monogamous relationships.

The final square tells you that’s time to make your way to the bed! The winner gets to spin the sex position wheel, and then, if relevant, decide who is going to be doing what and where. While Isabelle personally wasn’t a huge fan of sex being the goal of the game, I think Sex!!! is a great option for those who aren’t looking for deep chats, but just want to get it on in a new, creative way.

Why I Chose It

I don’t know about you, but I’ve tried and failed several times before to find new and exciting positions for my partner and I to try. I’ve looked them up online, found some that I thought sounded fun and easy, but by the time we got to trying them, I realized that I’d mostly forgotten what I was supposed to do, and discovered that I wasn’t as flexible as I thought.
