Sportsheets Door Jam Sex Sling Review
My Verdict
The Sportsheets Door Jam Sex Sling is a fantastic introduction to the world of sex swings and gravity-defying sex! It's well-constructed and much easier to set up than a regular swing, but it is also less versatile and a bit more difficult to get into than its free-swinging peers.

The Sportsheets Door Jam Sex Sling has all the benefits of a full-sized sex swing, but in a convenient, easy to use format. It has two anchors at the top of the straps that you place on the other side of your door before closing, creating a surprisingly sturdy swing. Then, there's a padded seat and leg straps, both fully adjustable, and two handles to hang onto. The Door Jam sling can accommodate several different positions, and is a great way to enjoy 'weightless' sex with your partner!

Personal Experience
A Test Run is a Must!
Despite being easy to install than a regular sex swing, I still think the Door Jam Sex Sling needs a dry run before you try to use it for any actual sex! My partner and I took some time one evening to familiarize ourselves with all the different straps, as well as how to put it up and adjust the straps. It took a few goes before we found the right way to set it up and adjust it to the correct height. Since I’m pretty short, I also found that I was going to need a step-stool to get in at the right seat height! Doing a test run was also a nice way to diffuse some of the awkwardness around this new piece of equipment in our bedroom — my boyfriend is a great sport, but was definitely a little skeptical when I first suggested the sling, so I was glad he got to explore it in a low-stakes environment. Not Exactly Spontaneous
Despite our test drive, this sex swing still wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment activity for us. The first time we tried it out, we set it up beforehand and had talked all week about giving it a go. We got warmed up first in our usual way, and then moved to our hallway, where the swing hangs on our living room door (don’t worry, we don’t have anyone else living with us). It was a bit strange at first, since it was colder than our bedroom, and we had to keep pausing to pay attention to each other and keep the energy levels high. However, I eventually got into the seat, facing away from the door, and the actual sex began. Annoyingly, I just couldn’t stop thinking about how I looked holding myself up, and it ended up feeling a bit awkward. This is certainly not a natural-feeling piece of kit, and the seat straps also started digging into my hips after a little while. The Bits We Loved
I realize that I’m sounding a bit negative about the whole thing, but there were lots of aspects that we both enjoyed! For my partner, the best part was that he got to stand up. He felt grounded and was able to thrust in a way he enjoyed, while knowing that I was more comfortable than if I was on a hard surface like a table. This isn’t something we usually get to try, because we have quite a significant height difference. The Sportsheets Door Jam Sex Sling really negated that difference, and allowed for some deep penetration and experimentation that felt new and exciting! With more practice, I’m sure we can both get really good at using this thing!Design
The design of the Door Jam sling is pretty neutral in all-black polyester. It doesn't have the same sensual allure as, say, leather, but I'm glad that they've kept the design low-key. The seat is nice and soft with a velvety feel, but it does feel a little cheap and flimsy. The straps and handles, on the other hand, feel very sturdy. Plus, every strap (minus the handles) is adjustable!
Ease of Use
This is not a toy that you can use straight out of the box. It requires some set up and adjustment before you use it, and will probably need further adjustments once you're using it. It was also, for me at least, really difficult to get into without help or a step stool. I'm pretty short at 5 ft tall, so others may not have this issue, but it felt very awkward to try and mount when I couldn't lift myself into the seat or the stirrups. However, I imagine that it's still simpler than using a full-on sex swing, since there's no permanent set-up to do like drilling.
Quality
The Sportsheets Door Jam Sling feels of a much higher quality that I was expecting! The straps and sliders feel sturdy and well-made, and the seat is nice and soft, though it could do with a little more padding, especially on the sides.
Price
While the Sportsheets Door Jam sling isn't bargain-bin-cheap, I think it's pretty well priced for a sex swing! Most full-sized sex swings will cost you upwards of $150, and some are much more, so I think this budget-friendly option will appeal to many people who are intrigued by the idea but aren't ready or willing to fork out the big bucks. Just keep in mind that, if you want to spend even less but still want the Sportsheets quality, you can also buy the Door Jam Sex Swing (rather than this 'Sling'), which doesn't have a seat and is a little cheaper.
Performance
Buying this swing was always a gamble, and I think it performed quite well. If both you and your partner are more adventurous than us and love to try out new things without embarrassment, you may well love this product even more than we did. It takes a bit of set up, but it's sturdy, reliable, and opens up doors for new ways to play.
Packaging
The packaging, as with all Sportsheets products in my opinion, is pretty classy and nice to look at. The swing comes in a study, matte black box with a large illustration of it 'in use' on the front and some other position ideas on the back. However, unlike some other brands (*ahem* Fetish Fantasy *ahem*), the scenes are actually quite subdued and informative to look at. You could easily keep this packaging to store the swing in when not in use, but it's a bit bulky for my tastes, so I prefer to store the swing in a large cloth bag that I had to hand.
Materials and care
The majority of this swing is made from polyester, which is strong and sturdy. If you want to clean it, then unfortunately you can't put it in the washing machine. Instead, take a clean, damp cloth and a small amount of soap and spot clean any areas that need it.
