Tenga Flip Orb Strong Review

Personal Experience

After moving across the country from my wife for work, I decided it was time to purchase a new toy. I was intrigued by the design of the Tenga Flip Orb Strong Blue Rush, and I had tried some of Tenga’s disposable line of toys in the past.

Design

The Tenga Flip Orb follows the design philosophy of most Tenga toys; sleek modern design devoid of anatomical features. The toy has a function driven aesthetic, designed to provide a unique and pleasurable experience rather than mimicking something else.

Ease of Use

This toy is exceptionally easy to use. The hinged design allows lube to be evenly distributed on the toys interior. The hourglass shape makes the toy easy to hold even though it is slightly heavier than I had expected. The controls are simple and intuitive, there is a plate on the side of the toy that compresses the flexiable inner sleeve forcing out the air and increasing suction. Like all the Tenga flip toys the toy is easy to clean, it opens up after use making rinsing and drying simple.

Quality

The Tenga Flip Orb is much better quality than Tenga's disposable line of products. It has held up well to semi frequent use for over a year but is starting to show some wear. After opening the toy I was initially concerned about the hinge system which appeared fragile, but it has withstood vigorous use without breaking. Overall it has a good design and is made with reasonably nice materials.

Price

The Tenga Flip Orb is reasonablely priced compared to similar items but is expensive for a first toy. It is well made and relatively durable. I think it is worth purchasing if you like the design, especially if it is on sale, but it isn't an essential toy.

Performance

The Tenga Flip Orb is easy to prepare for use, it opens so lube can be evenly applied across the interior. Insertion is pleasurable, the opening is tight but very soft and stretchy. The orbs feel good but provide less stimulation than I had anticipated. The interior texture is stimulating and feels lovely when slicked with a water based lube. There is a flexible panel along the toys sides which can be squeezed increasing constriction and stimulation. Being able to change the amount of stimulation the toy provides makes it easy for me to edge. The Tenga Flip Orb has more suction than I had anticipated which feels excellent, but the pressure is difficult release requiring me to either pull out or open the toy. The Tenga Flip Orb is easy to clean after use, opening up so the interior can be rinsed.

Packaging

The packaging highlightes the toy, it has sparse graphics and no extraneous information or material. The packaging is a simple clear plastic clamshell designed to protect the toy during transit. I liked the packaging despite it being very minimalist, it was functional and easy to dispose of discreetly

Materials and care

The outer casing of the toy is polycarbonate which is lightweight and strong. The internal sleeve is Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) with ABS plastic orbs. The TPE sleeve is smooth and stretchy and has a great feel after being lubed. TPE is porous so the toy shouldn't shared and should be cleaned immediately after use to prevent bacterial contamination. TPE is also less durable than silicon and although it has held up to multiple uses over a year it is starting to showing signs of wear. Because the toy doesn't have any electronics it is waterproof, and is great for use in the shower.
