My Verdict

Although the price is a bit more than is desirable, the TENGA Flip Zero is a product that still gets two thumbs up from me. The included lube is horrible (and leaks A LOT), but once you use better lube this leakage all but goes away. The experience isn't very "realistic", although I don't think that's what TENGA was going for—it's a neutral entrance so it can be whatever you want it to be! In use, the toy feels great, and I never had any trouble finishing with this toy, so I can confidently recommend the TENGA Flip Zero to anyone with a penis who loves suction, hates cleaning, and wants something for everyday fun.

Buy, if you...

  1. Want a simplified cleaning/drying process
  2. Are looking to upgrade from your current stroker
  3. Have an average-sized penis
  4. Need something that will last long-term with proper care
  5. Like the "suction" effect

Don't buy, if you...

  1. Have a 6.3-inch or larger penis (unless you don't mind partial insertion)
  2. Want a realistic-looking masturbator
  3. Use lube excessively
  4. Can't be gentle with the plastic pieces

About The TENGA Flip Zero

The TENGA Flip Zero is a unique male masturbator. Its flip-book design allows for an easier cleaning, drying, and toy care experience. Featuring a single neutral entrance, varied internal textures, and "pressure pads" on the sides, this toy offers the user a variety of self-pleasure options for a fun night in.

Pros

  • Easy to clean thanks to the "book-like design"
  • Pressure pads allow for a unique experience
  • Suction is strong
  • Comes with stand/case for storage
  • Can be propped up in frame for easy drying

Cons

  • Leaks if too much lube is used
  • Padding on bottom falls off from water exposure
  • Plastic casing can be fiddly
  • Side clips can break easily

Did the TENGA Flip Zero live up to my expectations?

My Personal Experiences with TENGA Flip Zero

I really thought that the TENGA Flip Zero was just an overpriced stroker with a big name attached. Honestly, I kept this opinion for a bit until I got used to using the toy. Its bulky size makes it a bit challenging to use until you get used to holding it, and the included lube sets it up for failure right out the box. However, once I got more used to using the toy and switched lubes, the overall value of this toy became apparent. Using your toy is fun but cleaning up after sucks. The TENGA Flip Zero makes this a very easy process, and that’s really what makes this toy worth its questionable asking price.

Using the TENGA Flip Zero

There are a bunch of different ways you can use this toy. Here are a few of the methods I tried and how they turned out!

Holding the Side Rails

Don’t do this. Although it seems easy to hold, the side rails will just slide out.

Holding the Pressure Pads

This is the best (and “correct”) way to do it, but it takes some getting used to. There aren’t any indentations on the pressure pads, and they get very slippery if you get any lube on them. As intended, the pressure pads allow you to squeeze your shaft precisely where you want to apply extra pressure.

Holding the Tips of the Pressure Pads

I found this also works well, although the motion feels a bit weird. Still, I’d recommend giving it a try because it feels great and is ideal if you want near-uniform pressure combined with suction.

Getting the Best Suction

There is a little bit of suction regardless, but you can get more if you squeeze the extra air out of the TENGA Flip Zero. I found the best way was to first insert my penis all the way to the end of the canal, and then squeeze the pressure pads (top to bottom) to get the air out. Once you do this, the toy is stuck on there! The “seal” of suction depends on how much lube you’re using. Too little will result in less suction, but too much just makes using the toy very loud. Speaking of excess lube, while the provided lube exploded out the back—which was irritating and a poor first impression—my “private supply” didn’t have this issue, even when used in excess. The worst leakage I experienced using better lube was a few drops out of the back: nothing more!

The TENGA Flip Zero’s design

The provided cover/case is great because it holds the toy in place via a magnet in the bottom & also doubles as a stand for drying the toy. The Flip Zero itself is pretty bulky, but it needs to be for its "Flip" design to work. A plastic holder/frame holds the two sides of the toy together. This piece can be slid off, at which point you'll need to squeeze the side just under the clips. This will release the clips and allow you to open up the toy for interior access. Inside, the toy looks very odd, with many ribs, nubs, and other textures for increased stimulation. Think, "alien organs".

The TENGA Flip Zero: My Take on Ease of Use

TENGA Flip Zero The TENGA Flip Zero: My Take on Ease of Use

Gripping the TENGA Flip Zero during use will be the first issue you run into. After that though, it's all smooth sailing! Upon insertion, you'll notice a bit of suction, but it gets much more intense if you insert yourself all the way. I suppose a "grip it and rip it" approach would work, but I found going slow and staying at the same speed provided the best experience (you'll finish, trust me!). The toy only takes few minutes to clean with running water/antibacterial soap and can be dried easily by placing it on the "stand" in front of a fan. Simple enough!

An in depth look at the TENGA Flip Zero’s quality

TENGA Flip Zero An in depth look at the TENGA Flip Zero’s quality

The materials used feel like decent quality, although the TENGA Flip Zero does attract dirt, lint, and cat hair like many other toys (leave it in the case when not in use!). I think the plastic parts are the weakest points of this design since the clips on the side can break easily if you're too rough with them and the side arms don't always slide on correctly. As I expected, the soft circular pad on the bottom of the side frame plastic fell off after a few washes, but fortunately, this doesn't affect its ability to stay in the stand using the internal magnets.

A Closer Look at the TENGA Flip Zero’s Price Tag

At $100, I found myself really wondering if that price was reasonable. If you'd asked me when I first received the toy, I would have said no. However, after owning and using the TENGA Flip Zero for a bit, I'd have to say it actually is worth the asking price! I reached this conclusion based on two factors: ease of cleaning and ease of drying. With my other toys, cleaning them out usually isn't too challenging, but getting them to dry is another story. With the TENGA, cleaning is extremely easy because it opens up, and drying only requires the case, a fan, and time. For frequent users, these seemingly minor advantages sweeten with time!

Weighing up the Performance of the TENGA Flip Zero

Although I wouldn't say this greatly outperforms your average toy, it still delivers a great user experience. While visually intimidating, the internal textures aren't overly stimulating and are actually distinct if you pay attention! The suction was my favorite part though: I found it best to use the pressure pads to squeeze (from top to bottom) the air out for maximum suction. Usually, I prefer a faster pace, but with this toy, I really enjoyed taking it slow and steadily working my way towards climax. How loud this toy is dependent on how much lube you use (don't expect it to be completely silent though!).

The TENGA Flip Zero’s Packaging

TENGA Flip Zero The TENGA Flip Zero’s Packaging

The packaging was concise. Everything included (TENGA Flip Zero, two packets of lube, user manual) fit inside of the storage case, which was wrapped in plastic. TENGA stores the accessories underneath the base of the case, and once you've taken the plastic off, this can fall right out (although there's nothing you need to worry about if you do drop something). Broken items are often something I worry about during shipping, but I'm pretty sure that the Flip Zero wouldn't have been damaged even if I had dropped it in the case on the floor—not to mention the fact that the case/packaging is inside of a box—so you can be pretty confident that your toy will arrive in working order.

Exploring the Materials and Care

TENGA Flip Zero Exploring the Materials and Care

The TENGA Flip Zero is made of a combination of materials, the main one being TPE. As mentioned above, this material is somewhat sticky so keeping it cased when not in use is a must! The plastic used is very smooth and seems to do the job, though it's nothing to write home about. I'd suggest being gentle with the Flip Zero when opening/closing the toy since the clips are fairly thin. It also comes with lube, but I'd just use your own: the included lube is pretty poor (this didn't sway my opinion, but it's still important to mention that the included lube contains parabens).

Special feature

TENGA Flip Zero Special feature

The plastic sidearms/frame of this toy are the icing on the cake! As the toy is made primarily of TPE, it can easily pick up dust and dirt from any surface, but the plastic frame (combined with internal magnets) allows you to dry the toy without getting it dirty again in the process. There are a couple of different ways you can place it in the stand, but I found placing it between the frame and slightly angled towards a fan with the interior facing upwards worked best.

FAQ

Is the Tenga Flip Zero actually worth $100?
It depends on how often you will use it. If you use your stroker every day then the Flip design will likely save you a lot of time throughout the year normally spent cleaning your toy. Alternatively, if you cycle through various toys then you might want to wait until the TENGA Flip Zero is on sale, but I would still recommend it nonetheless!
Can I use silicone-based lubricant?
You can, but be aware that your toy may deteriorate quicker! TENGA recommends using only water-based lubricants.
My penis is longer than 6.3 inches: would you still recommend this toy?
That depends: do you want to be able to insert your penis all the way into the toy? At 6.3 inches, you'll be touching the end of the toy so that may be a deterrent. If this doesn't bother you, then go for it!
How much suction does the TENGA Flip Zero have?
With the right "fit" you could easily hang this toy off of your penis and walk around: it's pretty intense!
Which parts of the TENGA Flip Zero are the hardest to dry?
Overall, this toy dries quickly and easily, but you'll want to double-check the entrance hole: this can retain a bit of moisture!
