Why I Chose It
The Strict Bondage Harness with Bows is a clear Test Winner based on our tester, Kiki’s, review. Not only do these thigh restraint look absolute adorable with the little bows on the back but it’s versatile as well!
The removable hand cuffs allow you to explore with lots of different bondage positions and scenarios other than just wearing it to look cute. Kiki immediately fell in love with the design: “I am strictly a gold jewelry wearer so when I saw that the hardware was all gold, I wanted to squeal. The decorative bows add a playful, feminine touch that sets it apart from more utilitarian bondage wear.”
While most parts of the harness are adjustable, Kiki had some difficulty getting it to fit: “It only comes in two sizes, M/L and XL/2XL. I was sent the M/L and although it does fit, it’s not PERFECT. […] I wish the length of the straps that go across your butt/back of thighs was also adjustable. I feel like that would have made the adjustability near perfect.”
Although, if your size happens to align with the sizing for this harness, I still think it’s a great set of thigh cuffs with a twist! For such an affordable price, they definitely deliver on style and performance.

Why I Chose It
The DOMINIX Deluxe Leather Wrist to Thigh Restraints are a great example of this classic wrist-to-thigh cuff that is one of the most popular versions of thigh restraints.
I personally LOVE this concept of having your wrists pinned to the sides or the fronts of your thighs. For something so simple that doesn’t require much additional bondage gear to set up, I actually think it they’re a genius way to add (almost) full body restraint to your play time.
Our tester, Catherina, really enjoyed these thigh restraints because of this versatility. Although, her main point of concern was the seemingly weak seams connecting the wrists to the thighs: “If you’re looking to purchase these, I would only say to look carefully at the sizing, and really evaluate your strength and the roughness of your play.”

This thigh sling is a great alternative if you want less restriction, and more support. It’s a unique product that’s well-designed, comfortable, and isn’t restricted by weight or thigh size.
The sturdy stirrups keep the legs secured to the padded neck rest. I like that you can fully adjust the connecting straps so you can decide how far you want your thighs spread apart.
Our tester, Mariah, was blown away by how efficiently this freed up your hands and allowed for deeper penetration: “I’ve been sexually active for a long time, but let me tell you, I don’t think I’ve ever actually worried about someone else becoming a permanent part of my anatomy before. Why I Chose It
Now, this is an affordable option for those who want to enjoy some full-body bondage with thigh restraints. The Purple Reins Body Harness may look a bit complicated but it’s fairly simple to use. I do wish it came with instructions, simply because it can look a bit confusing, but our tester, Lady Red, found it easy to use.
“My personal experience with this toy is that it is not a toy, it’s an experience. I have been into BDSM for some years now. I enjoy being handcuffed and dominated — I have been tied to the bed but I have never been tied in the way this harness does.”
She found that it was surprisingly comfortable and strong, despite the straps looking a bit flimsy. The main drawback has to be the lack of customization available in how to assemble this harness: “I believe there are only a few positions that you can be in while using this harness.” Of course, if you do love a good face-down-ass-up kind of position, this may be a perfect fit! Either way, it’s an affordable way to have fun with thigh restraints.

What to Consider When Buying Wrist to Thigh Cuffs
Once you’ve committed to buying bondage cuffs you’ll need to sort through the options to find the perfect set for you. While you could just go with the first set you see, we’d recommend putting some thought into your purchase instead. Consider the points below when shopping to ensure your new set of bondage restraints meets—if not exceeds—your expectations!
- Material – First off, you should decide which materials you want to be pressed against your skin. Leather is a popular natural option, but there are plenty of synthetic options (like faux leather, nylon, or polyester) as well. Beyond how it feels, you should also consider durability. If you’re planning on being rather rough then you’ll need a material that can take the heat!
- Fastening – Buckles and velcro restraints are the two main types of fastenings used on bondage thigh cuffs, although you may occasionally see other types. There are two things to consider here: the time it will take to fasten the fastening and how well the fastening will stay put. Buckles are better for rough play, whereas velcro is best suited for light play (but takes less time to put on!).
- Comfort – The materials used will affect the comfort, but so will the sizing and the design. You should make sure that your new BDSM thigh cuffs are sized correctly to your anatomy, especially if you have thick thighs or thin wrists.
- Extras – You might have begun your journey simply looking for bondage thigh cuffs, but by now, you’ve probably noticed that you can get a few extras to go with your cuffs. The Half Hogtie
The hogtie is a position that involves the ‘restraintee’ being laid on their stomach, with their limbs tied together behind them. Now, using thigh cuffs instead of ankle cuffs is a great way to make this position a tad less intense. By securing their wrists to the backs of their thighs, the submissive is able to stretch their legs and feel more comfortable for the submissive.
Face Down Ass Up
The intensified version of “doggy-style” we all know and love can easily be elevated by securing your lover’s wrists to their thigh cuffs from the side or while their arms are on their backs.
Spread Eagle
Whether you’re on your back or standing up bent over, a thigh spreader bar can be a fun tool to elevate penetration or oral play!
How to Pick The Perfect Thigh Restraints for You
Although many models look visually similar, there’s actually a bit more to consider than just looks alone when selecting a set of thigh cuffs. Here’s a short list of things to consider:
- Materials – Most materials can be modified to look a certain way, but the actual “feel” of the material against the skin is more important. Leather is always a common choice in BDSM gear, but there are many artificial options available for vegans and people who prefer cruelty-free products.
- Comfort – In addition to the main material used, you’ll also want to consider the possibility of any pinching (from the straps) or uncomfortable positioning that the cuffs might put you in. You might want to make sure there’s some kind of soft padding in the inside.
- Fastening – Velcro fastening is easier to put on/take off (making them perfect for beginner BDSM), but is much easier to escape than actual buckles. On the other hand, while buckles may restrain a person more effectively, the time it takes to properly fasten them could kill the mood.
- Adjustability & Sizing – You should take your measurements and have them on hand when shopping for cuffs. It’s important that your new thigh cuffs fit properly, although the measurements won’t need to be exact if the cuffs in question are adjustable!
- Amount of Restriction – Depending on the intended purpose, more or less mobility may be desired. Perhaps you’re looking for a full body harness with thigh cuffs or maybe you’re just looking for individual wrist to thigh cuffs.
- Fastening mechanisms and anchors – Make sure you know exactly what kind of fastening mechanisms you’re working with when considering a new piece of bondage gear.
