I picked the Oxy SpectrumProbe Set as the Test Winner today because it is a top quality product in the world of urethral toys. These medical grade stainless steel probes offer a nice intense, sturdy, and weighted feeling, which adds to the sense of quality.
When our tester, Peter, first received the package and had a look at these urethral toys, he shared that he “was a little nervous about the size!”. Even though the kit features a few different sizes and shapes, these aren’t exactly for beginners.
Although, he was quickly convinced of the pleasure they provided. Given that “the insertion of them the sensation is quite intense”, the control aspect of having a partner insert them is amazing.
The can also “be worn all day and night due to (them) being hollow allowing the person to use the bathroom”, which Peter said felt incredibly erotic and had him on edge all day. Why I Chose It
The Oxy Urethral Masturbation Maxi Bundle is also a winner in my book. This kit really has a lot of variety and versatility to offer. As our tester, Aaron, noted in his review, “I think it’s likely that any sounding enthusiast will find at least one thing they really need, and a few things they really like”.
As far as the cons go, there are only a few minor issues holding the Maxi Bundle from getting a perfect design score. While it may work for other, Aaron concluded that “the sperm stopper just doesn’t do what it was designed to do”. Secondly, “the rosebuds are actually very blunt. The ends of them are flattened, like a teardrop”. This does make them a bit harder to insert.
Overall, he was pleased with how easy (and pleasurable) all the items were to use. Most of the urethral toys have large rings on them and the rosebuds have thick hexagonal handles, so “grip will likely not be an issue for any of the sounds”.
The overall quality was good with a few small exceptions to do with the mechanics of the steel probes and some excess material on the silicone ones. Aaron describes this in further detail in his review.
“I think every toy performed up to their potential with the frankly weird exception of the sperm-stopper. The rosebudes are great for training, the silicones are the most fun, and the penis plug is the easiest while still giving a lot of stimulation”.

The sizes range from 5 mm to 10 mm in diameter so it’s an ideal beginner’s toy that’ll grow with you on your sounding journey.
Our tester, Jeffrey, also really appreciated the size variations since the rods offered a gentle stretch between each size. Another great design features is that “each one also increases in diameter around the halfway mark, which is great for warming up and keeps things exciting as you move the sound deeper”.
“I am personally a fan of steel sounds and have quite a collection so, when I saw there was a silicone option by a brand I respect, I needed to try it out. I was not disappointed”. Jeremy found that the silicone urethral toys added a great level of flexibility which isn’t available with steel rods, making it easier to use on a penis with a slight curve.
One small thing to note is that silicone sounds will create a bit more friction than steel sounds. Therefore, some may find that their sessions have to be cut shorter compared to when they’re using completely smooth and slippery inserts.

Why I Chose It
The Ouch! Urethral Plug Set stands out to me as the most beginner-friendly set of urethral toys that we’ve tested here. All three of the inserts have a diameter between 4 mm and 4.5 mm which is relatively small and manageable.
Our tester, Aaron, found that “these are some of the easiest sounds to use”. The short one is great for those who struggle with depth, and the middle one is perfect for those who can already handle some girth. The soft silicone is also nice and flexible which does make the experience a bit more forgiving than with an unyielding steel sound.
For Aaron, his favorite was the largest option in the set. “The beaded texture feels very pronounced, giving it spots of intensity at regular intervals that feel particularly great as the sound moves in and out”. Even though it isn’t as beginner-friendly as the other two options, he did note that it doesn’t require a ton of experience to enjoy.

Why I Chose It
Now, I wanted to include one last urethral toy for those who are curious about combining sounding with e-stim. With this kit, you get to enjoy both internal and external zaps!
Our tester, George, really enjoyed the stainless steel rod. He found that “with the bobbly texture, it felt really nice going in”. It has a satisfying yet sensible length and diameter. He conductive strap is easy to adjust because of the toggle. George did note that it’s important to add plenty of conductive gel when using this strap!
His first experience with the Oxy E-Stick was, unfortunately, quite disappointing and left him feeling quite unsatisfied because of weak electro stimulation. “This isn’t a criticism of just this product, electro stimulation toys that rely upon battery power tend to be rather lacking in the zap department.” On the bright side, e-stim newbies might find this to be a great introduction for some mild stimulation.
Luckily, the rod itself can also be used in combination with other control boxes and even by itself. It was when George paired the Oxy E-Stick with his mains-powered control box that magic happened:
