Intimate Earth Hydra Lube Review
My Verdict
I rarely say that anything is perfect, but this lube is. I couldn't find any faults! It is a water-based lube, which are my favourite as I can use them with any and all sex toy materials. It is thick but not tacky, even thick enough for anal, so I don't have to worry about re-application. It feels premium and the packaging and design matches this. It really exceeded all of my expectations! Of course there are other lubes out there that are still great, but this lube tops them all, in my opinion! I can't recommend this lube enough, it's a (wet) dream!

About The Intimate Earth Hydra
The Intimate Earth's Hydra Lube is an Organic water-based lube that has high longevity and viscosity. It is a thick lube that still manages to not get tacky, and creates and even seal around a sex toy. It comes in a plastic bottle that is tall and easy to squeeze, as well as having a click-close lid, so it is easy to use. The packaging looks premium and pleasing to the eye, with clear branding that easily shows what it is. It is not FDA approved yet it has been through scientific testing, making it safe for the market. It has a pH reading of 6, which shows that it is slightly more acidic that alkali. This is good as it is closer to the pH reading of a vagina, attempting to closely match the pH levels in order to avoid infection.

- ✅Can be used with all toy and condom materials
- ✅Easy to use bottle

Design
I loved the design of this bottle; it is pretty and pleasing to the eye. I love the font of the lettering and the big 'hydra' writing on the front of the bottle - I think it looks sleek and high quality. The blue lettering also adds to it being a water-based lube, which is eay to understand. I usually prefer a taller bottle, as I think they are easier to squeeze and get the lube out, so the bottle choice is great. The dark coloured plastic of the bottle looks better than a see-through bottle; it make me think the designers have tried to make it looks high quality and more premium. The one thing I would say wasn't great, is that it looks a little feminine, with th elarge swirly writing, but that wasn't a problem for me! Overall, I love the design!
Ease of Use
As this lube was quite thick, it took a little more effort to wash off my hands compared to the other organic lubes. This was surprising as it is a water-based lube, yet also exciting as it seems to be one of the only lubes that I think I would be able to use in the shower. Typically shower activities would be better with a silicone lube, but now that I have found a water-based one, I can bring my silicone dildo with me! This lube can be used with all sex toy materials and condom types, as never got tacky when I used it on a silicone dildo.
Quality
Unfortunately, this lube isn't FDA approved, but each lube has been through testing, and the Intimate Earth products are vegan, cruelty free, certified organic, and gluten free. The pH reading of this lube is 6, menaing that it is slightly acidic. This is great as the vagina is also slightly acidic, therefor this lube's reading reduces the chances of getting an infection or irritation from it.
Price
This lube has a mid price range; it doesn't have a standout price on the market of Organic lubes. For such a premium product, I think this lube is very affordable, and they could almost afford to charge more! i think they would be able to do this if they upgraded the bottle to being made of glass, and having a pump lid.
Performance
For a water-based lube, this lube kept going on and on! Typically, water-based lubes can dry out and they need re-application, yet this lube didn't! It was very slimy and coating, creating a thick, cushioning seal and I think it would also be perfect for anal, as it is definitely thick enough. When I tested this lubes viscosity, it fell off the spoon very slowly, showing how thick and heavy it was. This lube is my favourite as it has all the qualities of a silicone and a water-based lube, all in one!
Packaging
I love this bottle as it is tall and fits in my hand very comfortably. It isn't as tall as the ID Millenium silicone lube bottle, but I certainly felt like I was getting my moneys' worth. The plastic was thin enough to squeeze with easy and wasn't too tough, like the Sliquid bottles. The click-close lid was great and when I closed it, I didn't feel like it was going to open on its own. This is perfect for when I am travelling; I trust that lube wont go on my bikinis! I always say this, but my ultimate dream bottle would have a pump lid, as they are the easy to use. It isn't a make or break though, so I'll let it slide, for this lube only!
Stain Test
This lube didn't stain my cotton bed sheets, and because it is a water-based lube, it was very easy to wash out. There was not lasting stain after it had dried.
Special feature
This lube is made of organic ingredients, meaning that its ingredients are more neutral and ideal for health conscious buyers. The Hydra lube has a slight vanilla smell, but it isn’t overwhelming or a chemical smell. You cant smell the vanilla when on the body, only from the bottle. It has the slightest sweet taste to it, but it isn’t that noticeable.
