My personal experience with the Lovense Max 2

First off, let me reassure you — while my face might be at the top of this review, this review is still based on first-hand experience of this toy. I gave the Lovense Max 2 to my boyfriend to try out, and he’s reported back to me in detail about his experiences using it. So, don’t worry, this isn’t another review of a penis toy from someone without a penis! With that out of the way, let’s get down to business…

Breaking Down the Design

The Lovense Max 2 has some great design elements, some bad, and some just a bit weird. The exterior case is made from white plastic with ribs all down its length, which wasn't that appealing straight out of the box, but actually means that it's nice and discreet. With the cap on, there are no clues to what is actually lurking inside. What is inside is a translucent sleeve with a non-anatomical orifice and a bumpy internal texture. Again, this keeps it fairly discreet, but isn't the most exciting to look at. Finally, something that caught my eye is the wavy piece of soft plastic on the top — after reading the user guide, I still have no idea what it's for!

Evaluating the User-Friendliness of the Lovense Max 2

Figuring out how to use the Lovense Max 2 might take some time, depending on your experience with masturbators, and tech in general. The instructions that it comes with are pretty poor, so you might have to do some Googling! Actually using it is as simple as inserting your penis and starting the vibrations and suction, though it might take a while to figure out how to adjust things and what you like. The ribs on the outside can help with gripping it, but the Max 2 might be a little heavy for some to hold. Plus, since you have to press and hold the buttons, one-handed use isn't much of an option anyway. And, finally, the sleeve can be very difficult to get back into the case once you've cleaned it. We had to cover it in cornstarch to help it slide back in.

Quality Verdict

Lovense toys can seem a bit of a mystery — they tend to look a bit cheap, but once you get your hands on them, they feel solid and high-quality. The Lovense Max 2 follows this trend, as, while the overall design doesn't feel particularly luxurious, it does look and feel like it's been constructed well and will last a long time. The sleeve is made from TPE, which certainly feels soft and smooth, but is a porous material and will deteriorate over time, just like any Fleshlight sleeve would. In fact, after a few times being removed and turned inside out, there are already some tiny tears appearing in the orifice.

The Lovense Max 2: Budget-Friendly or Overpriced?

While the Lovense Max 2 isn't cheap, it's actually not as expensive as many other, similar products on the market. My boyfriend's personal opinion was that, if he was choosing a toy for himself, he would opt for a cheaper masturbator without all the functions of the Max 2. However, he did admit that he enjoyed having those extra sensations like vibrations and suction, and the idea of having me control it long-distance through the app did give him a twinkle in his eye! If you're looking for a real upgrade from a traditional masturbator, the Lovense Max 2 is a pretty accessible option, price-wise!

The Lovense Max 2: Satisfaction Guaranteed?

Of course, I'm giving you my boyfriend's experience here. The short version is: the Lovense Max 2 feels pretty amazing! He enjoyed the sleeve with its nubs and bumps, and found the material nicely soft and squishy. He even said that the sleeve worked great with none of the other functions turned on! The vibrations are incredibly rumbly and really powerful — so powerful, in fact, that he stuck to the lower speeds to avoid getting overwhelmed. When it comes to realism, the suction does a lot of the work. If you want it to feel tighter or looser, you can adjust it, but of course, a human vagina doesn't expand and contract in quite the same way!

A Closer Look at the Lovense Max 2’s Packaging

The packaging of the Lovense Max 2 is like all Lovense packaging: underwhelming. It's a white box with a picture of the Max 2 on the front, and generally feels a bit utilitarian and cheap. However, since the Max 2 comes with a cap to protect the sleeve (and your modesty), there's no need to keep the box. Inside the box, as well as the toy itself, you'll find some instructions and a USB charger.

The Lovense Max 2’s Material and Care

The case of the Lovense Max 2 is made from ABS plastic, and the sleeve is made from TPE (thermoplastic elastomer). I recommend looking up how to clean the Max 2 before doing anything, as it's not the simplest of processes. Since the case is not fully waterproof, you shouldn't submerge it in water when cleaning. Instead, remove the inner sleeve and rinse that thoroughly with water (Lovense recommend not using soap to avoid degrading the material) before leaving to dry on a clean towel. Then, make sure the Air Pump Vent is closed on the bottom of the case before rinsing or wiping the outside and inside and leaving to dry thoroughly (this can take a long time). When everything is dry, replace the sleeve and put on the cap. If the sleeve feels sticky or difficult to put back in, you can apply a thin coat of cornstarch to the surface, inside and out.

Special feature

One of the biggest draws of the Lovense Max 2 is its app controls. The Lovense Remote app unlocks a whole load of functions on top of those you can find using the buttons on the case, including custom vibration and suction levels, custom patterns, syncing to music and ambient sounds, and even creating alarms! Link up with a partner over WiFi and they can do all that, too! If they have a Lovense toy of their own, you can sync it up with the Max 2 and control the functions of both simultaneously using the app sliders. Finally, and maybe most impressively, if your partner has another Max 2, original Max or the Lovense Nora, you can connect them so that your movements control the functions of the other’s toy!
