My Verdict
The Mind, Body, and Soul Game was much more emotionally-focused than I had imagined and there are a lot questions that will take you down some intimate and vulnerable paths. However, you will be rewarded with some beautiful conversations, interesting discoveries and an enhanced level of connection. While I don't think it will 'heal your chakras', this game has a lot to offer couples and I like that the question cards can even be used for personal journaling as well!

About The Mind, Body, and Soul - The Game for Any Couple
The Mind, Body, and Soul Game from Kheper is a board game to enhance the intimate connection between you and your partner. It features question cards with questions relating to each of the seven chakras that help you open up to each other. The aim of the game is to "align all of your 7 chakras" and while I'm not sure it holds that power, it open up some deep, meaningful conversations!

Personal Experience
An Intimate Exploration
I really didn’t know what to expect from this game, but the bright colors and tantric themed lured me in! I was expecting it to be a little more sexy, but upon opening it and reading some of the questions, I realised this was more about intimacy in a much broader sense. While it wasn’t quite what I was expecting, both me and my partner are very into that kind of thing, so I was still excited to play it with him! I will say that some of the questions are very intimate and require a lot of vulnerability, so I only recommend playing this game if you are ready for that. That being said, if you are ready to open up, there are some beautifully intimate and reflective questions that can help you get to understand yourself and your partner on a much deeper level. There are some questions relating to sex in the sacral chakra cards that are great for opening up the conversation around desires, fantasies and insecurities. There are also a couple of pretty bizarre questions thrown in there — my favorite was “Have you ever suffered from high blood pressure and if so, how did you manage it?”A Quick Ticket to Enlightenment?
Having studied Tantra and the chakras, I do see how the questions relate to the different qualities related to chakras, but I also feel like there’s some spirituality-washing going here! The box claims you can heal your chakras with your lover and achieve enlightenment by playing this game. Bold claims for a board game! That’s almost like Monopoly claiming to help you get your real estate license!It Really Is For Any Couple!
One thing I really love about this game is that it really is for any couple as it claims to be! Many sexual board games are really lacking in inclusivity and use very cis-hetero language. The questions in the Mind, Body, and Soul games doesn’t use any gendered or sexuality based language so anyone at all can play it! The only time they used gender binary language (he/she) is in the instructions. You could even use the cards for a solo reflective practice or journalling!Design
The Mind, Body, and Soul game has a very hippie vibe and looks like something you would pick up in a new age store, which is exactly my cup of (herbal) tea! I like the slightly psychedelic tie dye board and the colorful chakra cards! The only thing is that I wish the player pieces were bit more visually interesting than the black and white ones included.
Ease of Use
The game play is very straightforward. As someone who hears white noise when reading board game rules, this was a big relief. It's really nice you don't have to spend time figuring out how to get started. I also like that this means the focus is really on the questions, answers and conversations that rise during the game rather than the rules. Both the instruction paper and question cards have a Spanish version on the other side, which is nice if your native language is Spanish or you and your partner want to practice your Spanish skills together! I would also say that although this game is designed for romantic partners, you could easily play it with a close friend.
Quality
I think the game is well-made. The board is made of thick board (like most board games!) and the question cards have a nice finish to them. It was also the XBIZ 2019 Adult Game of the Year, although I have to say, I feel like the adult game market is not the most competitive.
Price
At well under $20, I think the Mind, Body, Soul Game is definitely worth the price. The only thing to keep in mind is that there are limited questions on the cards. That being said, some are time limited (e.g. when was the last time...?) so your answers will change over time. You might also find that your answers naturally change in response to other questions over time as your ideas and priorities change.
Performance
While the Chakra game wasn't what I was originally expecting, I do think it does an amazing job of helping you have some really important and intimate conversations that often get overlooked. Having it as a game like this makes it great for using in a little connection ritual as it's also got an element of fun to it.
Packaging
The Mind, Body, and Soul game comes packaged in a nice sturdy box that's also used for storing the game. It has a colorful illustration on the top. There's nothing overtly sexual on it, and I think it looks nice enough to have out on a shelf or stacked with other boardgames.
Materials and care
The game is mostly made from laminated board/cardboard, with small card coins and plastic counters. There's nothing that needs cleaning and it can all be stored in the original box.
