My Verdict
This was my first time trying a bit gag, and I think the Sportsheets Saffron Soft Bit Gag was perfect for a newbie. The soft bit is super comfortable to bite down on. So while I was a bit overwhelmed with the size of it in the beginning, I quickly noticed that biting down really made it fit and feel more comfortable in my mouth. I always like it when gags have that lockable buckle and o-rings on the size that allow you to amp up the intensity of your play time. While I personally tend to prefer faux leather products over genuine leather, it does seem to me that this bit gag doesn't offer a lot of longevity. This is mostly because I feel that it's hard to clean properly, and I don't see it withstanding a lot of teeth marks because it isn't real leather. That said, this is based solely on a gut feeling. It has held up fine for now, so we'll see!

About The Sportsheets Saffron Soft Bit Gag
This soft bit gag is made of vegan PU leather and has polypropylene fiber in the bit to make it nice and soft to bite down on. It has large o-rings on each side of the bit, which means that it pairs well with other bondage gear, like cuffs, a collar, or a leash. The strap is fully adjustable and has a lockable buckle.

Personal Experience
Baby’s First Bit Gag!
I’ve tried solid ball gags, breathable ball gags, o-ring gags, and even a dildo gag in my time as a sex toy reviewer. But the Sportsheets Saffron Soft Bit Gag was my first ever bit gag! I was super excited to try it out as I like the idea of a ‘soft bit gag’. I had a feeling that I might like something to bite down on when things get a little intense in the bedroom… or sex dungeon, or whatever…
The first time I used it, I was a bit taken aback by how large it felt in my mouth. My jaw was stuck at an angle that it had never tried to be stuck at before. That’s when I remembered that it was okay to bite down on the bit. So, I did. The filling was a bit more firm than I thought it would be, and it occurred to me that it may need to be broken in and loosened up a bit. It has gotten a bit better over time but this gag is definitely a bit of a mouthful!Will it Stand the Test of Time?
One concern I did have while using it was that the seam of the bit was on the inside of the gag (and thereby, inside my mouth when using it). The thought of a lot of saliva seeping into those seams over time (without the option of submerging the gag in water for thorough cleaning) made me a bit worried of how well it will hold up over time. PU leather is also much less durable and long-lasting than genuine leather. I’m a bit uncertain as to how well the material will withstand stubborn bite marks over time. I’ve only had the bit gag for a while so I don’t really know how well it will last. It’s held up well so far, and just needs to be wiped down thoroughly after use, but I’m not convinced this will be a reliable long-term item.Design
The Sportsheets Saffron Soft Bit Gag has a very sleek and sexy design. While I'm not personally a bit fan of the red color, I can't deny that it looks very kinky and quite luxurious. I like that the metal hardware is black and blends in well with the strap itself. I have a soft spot for bondage gear with lockable buckles since it's such an easy way to intensify your play time! I will say that the bit itself is quite large, especially in the beginning when the filling hasn't been "broken in" yet.
Ease of Use
The Sportsheets Saffron Soft Bit Gag is incredibly easy to use. Simply pop the bit in your mouth, bite down, and secure the strap around your head with the buckle. Again, because the bit is so large and the foam is quite firm in the beginning, it can be difficult to wear for longer periods of time at first. Once it's "broken in", though, it should be just fine!
Quality
I think the Sportsheets Saffron Soft Bit Gag is a great quality bit gag! It's an amazing alternative for those who try to avoid using genuine leather. However, for those don't mind using real leather, this may honestly be a better option if you're looking for a really long-lasting gag. Since the seam of the bit is on the side you're biting into, I can imagine a lot of saliva going in there. I can also see the PU leather deteriorating quite easily over time from continuous bite marks. While I think it's well made, I would probably opt for a real leather soft bit gag for long-term use.
Price
I think the price of the Sportsheets Saffron Soft Bit Gag is really good for something of this quality! You get a sleek and kinky design, a large bit gag to bite down on, and a lockable buckle to amp things up a bit. There's quite a bit of value of money here.
Performance
The Sportsheets Saffron Soft Bit Gag was definitely larger than I was expecting, and I did feel humbled when I tried it the first time. My jaw was pretty sore! I think it's comfortable to bite down on even though it was a bit firm in the beginning.
Packaging
As with most other packaging from Sportsheets, this bit gag came in a not-so-subtle box with an image of the product modelled on the front. While this doesn't scream discretion, I have come to appreciate that this packaging is still quite classy and more informative than vulgar. One thing I could have used was a storage bag. The bit itself just arrived in the box all naked (no plastic or cloth bag protecting it from the cardboard).
Materials and care
Since the Sportsheets Saffron Soft Bit Gag is made primarily of PU faux leather, it should be wiped down with a damp cloth. I recommend being thorough with this since a lot of saliva can end up in that seam in the side of the bit. The bit is filled with polypropylene fiber which is what makes this a 'soft bit gag'. This filling does feel a bit firm in the beginning so keep in mind that you might need to break it in properly.
